  1. Hello everyone,

On Part 3, Processing Information, they ask about the Non-immigrant visa number.

Which one should I put ? I got 2 of them written on the visa that was issued last December at the Consulate in Paris. One of the number is written in red and has 8 numbers. The second one, named the Control Number, is located on the right side of the visa and has 14 numbers.

Thank you for your help !

  2. I know I am late but I was procastinating the whole time. I had my medical in Germany last year January 31st, applied for AOS in May. Friday I have my interview and tomorrow I go to the doctor for getting the vaccination supplement transferred. Is there any government website that states that I don't need to take the full medical? And it should also apply for K-3, right?

"13. I-693, Medical Examination of Aliens Seeking Adjustment of Status. (If you already have this from your overseas Visa Interview submit a copy that medical check form; No fee is required in this case. If you are a K-1 fiancé(e) or K-2 dependent who had a medical examination within the past year as required for the nonimmigrant fiancé(e) visa, you only need to submit a vaccination supplement (I-693A), not the entire medical report. You may include the vaccination supplement with your adjustment of status application.)"

From what I read you don't need it.

  3. Cecile,

You do not have to do all of the examination again. The AOS requires proof that you have received all of the necessary vaccinations. This proof is the I-693A completed by a Civil Surgeon in the US. Usually, when you have your medical, the panel physician will give you the vaccination worksheet that shows what vaccinations you have and have not had. When you get to the US you take this worksheet to a Civil Surgeon and he transfers the information from the worksheet to the I-693A form. He/she already have these forms in their office so you don't need to bring one. If you don't have a copy of the worksheet from your medical, you may be able to ask the doctor who did the medical to send you a copy, or you may be able to use any other type of proof that you have (vaccination records, etc.) that show which vaccinations you have had and have the Civil Surgeon transfer the information. That is basically all he needs to do - transfer the information to the correct form, and if you need any vaccinations, he can also give them to you. You include the completed I-693A (in a sealed envelope) with your AOS application.

Some Civil Surgeons will try to tell you you need the whole medical done again. K-1 visa holders do NOT require a new medical as long as they are applying for the AOS within one year of their K-1 medical.

Thank you for the information, that was mostly needed !

  4. Thank you for providing the form.

I saw the Doctor back in Paris, France, last November before the interview at the Embassy. I gave the Consulate Officer the medical examinations results as I was supposed. Then, he gave me the results back with my visa. But the results were sealed in an envelope. I gave it to the immigration people when I landed to Dallas, so I don't have any results in hands anymore.

Do I have to make all the examinations again?

    Thanks !

    Cecile.

  5. Dec. 7th, American Embassy in Paris,

    !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!VISA APPROVED !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'll get it next week in person at the Embassy.

They told me that there are some electronic device problems with editing

visas this week. I suggested to them that I could come in person to fetch it

instead of receiving it by mail.

The two people I talked to were very nice and helpful. The officer asked me

those 6 questions: "When did you meet your Fiancé?", "Was your Fiancé once

married?", "Does he have children?", "What job does he do?", "What do you

do?", "What job do you expect to do in the US?". While responding, he was

going through the paperwork and that was it. The interview only took 10

minutes and it took me 2 hours in all (mostly waiting to be called).

The interview was scheduled at 1pm. I arrived there at 12:15am to be early

enough. The guards told me that it was too early and it would be best to

come back at 1pm. I went into a café near the Embassy and went back at

12:45. Then 10 people arrived. At 1pm, the guards checked our ID's and the

    letter of convocation.

I got into the main room where the windows from 4 to 7 and 8 to 12 are. I

sat down and waited. First, a lady asked everyone to tell her our names. It

was kind of chaotic but a line of 15 people was made. Afterwards, the lady

asked us to sit down again until they called our name. In the meanwhile,

some more people came in the room, which is small. It filled up pretty

quickly and became kind of loud.

The first interview was done by a lady who was in charge getting the

documents ready for the officer. She asked me when my departure date is and

told me that there were some electronic device problems for issuing the

visa. Once all the papers were ready, she asked me to sit down.

Then, an officer called me. He asked me the questions that are listed above

and within 10 minutes it was done. He didn't ask me for any evidences of our

relationship such as pictures, photocopies of e-mails... When going through

the files I could see the pictures that Barry, my fiancé, sent last March to

the Californian Service Center and forwarded by the NVC to the Embassy in

    Paris.

    Some tips:

Pay attention when they call names. The room is loud and sometimes they have

problems pronouncing french names. It might be difficult to hear yours.

In Packet 4, they didn't include the DS158 file. I still filled it out and

printed it. It was asked for by the first woman. You can find the pieces

here. This link was very helpful:

    http://www.visajourney.com/consulates/inde...e&cty=Paris

Don't tell more than what they ask for (another tip that I found on VJ, very

    helpful).

Bring an ID and the letter of convocation that is included in Packet 4.

Bring a lot of evidences of your relationship such as pictures, prints of

e-mails, photocopies of flight tickets, bills from hotel rooms, letter of

intent, letters from family stipulating that you are willing to get wed.

Better to be safe than sorry as my fiancé Barry said to me.

Thank you everyone for your encouragements these past months. This site

helped us greatly and will continue to for the next months I believe.

  6. Hello,

I sent the documents to the American Embassy in Paris on Monday 16th of October. They got it the next day. I should get Packet 4 anytime soon.

In the meanwhile, should I take a medical appointment before Packet 4 arrives and rely upon the informations available on this website page, are all the asked elements by the Embassy are listed there ? :

    http://www.visajourney.com/consulates/inde...e&cty=Paris

or should I wait for the instructions on Packet 4 ?

How long does it take to get the results from the medical analysis? I read that the results are sent directly to the Embassy, is it true?

    Thank you for your help,

    Cécile.

  8. Hello,

I just sent Packet 3 to the Embassy this morning. I can't wait for getting Packet 4.

Regarding to Packet 4, and the medical appointment, how fast was it to get an appointment and how fast was to get the results of the medical examination?

    Thank you for your help,

    Cecile.

  9. Good question, I would add a separate note explaining that and giving the year.

I'd like to ask too, what do you put for 'visa' if you entered on the visa waiver program and didn't have one?

    Hi,

I need some advices. On the #25 on the DS-230 form, they ask to list the dates of all previous visits to the United States. The problem is that 10 years ago, I went there frequently and I don't remember the dates - I didn't keep the previous passports.

    What should I do?

    Thank you,

    Cecile.

    Hi,

    Thank you for your answer.

I don't know what a visa waiver program is. Is it when the tourist visa is included in the passport type of thing, like a 3 months ability of staying in the country?

In that case I wouldn't write anything or write just what you said : VWP

    Cécile.

  10. Thank you, again, to EVERYONE for your incredible kindness, understanding, and support yesterday. You made a very difficult day a LOT easier to swallow...Michelle...turns out you were right...They did have to give me my real approval quickly because I'd already had all the congratulations!!!

This morning when I downloaded my email there were FIVE EMAILS to tell me that I'd been approved. Don't worry...I checked this time...they're all STRAIGHT FROM USCIS and CRIS!!! These are MINE!!!

    :dance::jest::goofy: :energetic: :dancing:

God is so gracious to me...He only made me wait one more day. Life IS good. I see I'm in good company today, too. WONDERFUL!!!

Laurent took the bad news very well yesterday as you all have probably read by now. He's in the car at the moment on the way to his parents' house. He sent me a message from his cell phone this morning. I'm going to go right now and send a message right back to his mobile...I think it's wonderful that he'll be with his parents when he gets the news!!!

WOOHOOOOOO!!! :star::star::star: I'm REALLY going to be smiling all day now!!! :D:D:D

I'm serious everyone...Your day is coming and I'm still praying and fighting for all of you!!!:thumbs::thumbs:

    Félicitations à vous deux,

    Cécile.

  12. Hello !

I have a question concerning the Packet 3. Does someone can confirm this ?

I must fill up the forms when I get the packet 3, I actually can fill up those before hand so to practice:

    - DS-230 (Part I)

    - DS-156 (x2) A nonimmigrant form

    - DS-156K An immigrant form

    - DS-157 (I didn't find this form on the net, does someone know where it is?)

    - I-134 : the oath, filled up by my fiancé who lives in the US

and I also must bring for the interview at the Embassy :

    - I-129

    - G-325a

On the DS156 Form, the question n°26 is : "How long do you intend to stay in the US?"

    ??????

I don't know what to answer !! I am moving there to marry my fiancé. I don't know how many months or years I'll be staying in the US !

    Thank you for your help,

    Cécile.

If you have a question - there example forms already filed out here:

    http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...p;page=examples

Thank you very much ! I didn't know this page at all ! It is going to be very helpfull !

I have been using this link so to practice with filling up :

    http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...mp;page=k1guide

But they don't show the DS-157 Form. Do you know where to find it by any chance ?

Do you know if I can use these forms for the interview day ? Or should I really need to wait for the packet 3 to arrive ? Do they provide the forms so to fill them up by hand ?

Merci beaucoup devilette pour ton aide !

    Cécile.
