you list down his wife and ALL children including you and their birthdays and current address..

  2. I just got an email from CRIS that., approval notice sent on 06/02/2009. Does this mean that my GREEN CARD has been sent? USCIS is getting me confused; making a fool out of a Master degree holder. As you guys may well know that:

    1. I filed on 08/17/2008

    2. Approved on 04/16/2009

    3. Approval letter in the mail on 04/18/2009

    4. Card production ordered 2x; 05/20/2009 and 05/28/2009

    5. And, yesterday 06/02/2009, approval notice sent.

Again, is approval notice the same thing as GREEN CARD? Please help! I am an illitrate for the moment. Thank you all.

It means an approval notice has been sent to you and that your card has been produced and will arrive in your mail in a week or two. An approval notice is a confirmation of your filed case at USCIS. Did you file for naturalization too? update your timeline..

  3. It is not taking too long right now. see my timeline below for actual dates.

She will come on a IR-5 visa and will get a 10 year greencard shortly after she arrives in the USA. She will not have to file for AOS as she is entering on a Immigrant visa.

Thanks, another question, I seen DS-3032 in your timeline, what is this? do i need to submit also along with I-130? How much does it cost, is it included in the $355 for the I-130?

That's the choice of address & agent after it has been approved & forwarded to NVC. Upon NVC's acceptance & case# issued then they'll mail you the DS3032. You can send it via email or mail that back to them.

With I-130, read the form & it tells you what to submit or include in your filing of petition. The $355 is the filing fee you submit along with your I-130 & evidences at USCIS . There's no fee filing the DS3032.

    I-130---> USCIS

    DS3032---> @ NVC

  4. Thanks tayRivers. But while sending DS-3032 through email, can i send from my email address or do i have to send from my parents emal address. Because my dad doesn't have email add and i have to creat for him. Did u use ur email address? Still waiting DS 3032 from NVC.

I sent them both from my email address. As my parents were unsure of doing it and we wanted it to be right. I did not wait for the DS3032 from NVC as soon as I had the case numbers I sent the emails. They were accepted 5 days later.

You mean you sent emails twice ( for your mom& dad's DS3032) to NVC? I created an email add for my parents but i'm still worried they might not do it right. So it's just ok to send emails of choice of address & agent for my parents using my email account right? 2 ds3032 email to NVC for my parents?

I sent one email with my Mom's details and choice of agent and then another email with my Dad's details showing his choice of agent.

Both were sent from my email address not my parents email address.

That's so clear TayRivers. Thank you. I hope you're still around when my time comes to process that stage @ NVC. Right now, i am still waiting for any progress at USCIS. Wonder how long they'll process mine..

  6. Thanks tayRivers. But while sending DS-3032 through email, can i send from my email address or do i have to send from my parents emal address. Because my dad doesn't have email add and i have to creat for him. Did u use ur email address? Still waiting DS 3032 from NVC.

  7. Thanks Pikaraz for your suggestion. Now i am out of worried. Where to look James Shortcuts? And Do my parents need to make any kind of documents for interview like police certificate? And do i need to make two set of Affidavit supports?

Here is a link to the shortcuts I used. Just remember that NVC is changing over to all email so you will no longer get anything in the mail.

    http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/...he_NVC_ShortCut

Yes your parents will need police certificates and yes you will need 2 sets of Affidavit of Support and 2 sets of DS-230. Also have a read of this link to better understand what the NVC do.

    http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/...nal_Visa_Center

If you do the DS3032 online, what's the email add of NVC?? And do you have to return the DS3032 paper copy?

  9. My wife just received her citizenship. She would like to apply for her parents to come to the US as PR status. She is from Taiwan. Once we submit the apps, about how long will it take?

Also, can she apply for both her parents and sister at the same time? I understand it can take up to 10 years for a sibling application.

Parents of a US citizen are immediate relatives under the category of IR5.

It takes the same time as for other immediate relatives like a spouce of a USC.

So 6-12 months for the parents?

Yeah, I would say it's around 12 months.

It looks it is now taking 6 months for I-130 approval at CSC.

It does not always take 6 months for the I-130 to be approved by USCIS. So far it has taken just over 2 months from the day I mailed the I-130 for both my parents, we are now under final review at NVC and should have a interview date for July, if we do get the interview in July then it will have taken just over 4 months from mailing to Visa.

On the average 8 months everything

6 for USCIS and 2 for NVC, more or less

I would say more or less 10 months depending on how you deal with them, all docs ready and you'll zoom out to visa interview in a couple of months just like TayRivers timeline. The USCIS stage is shorter and the NVC phase which is the visa processing is longer.. And yes filing for your sibling will take longer but if your parents are here as a PR, they can file for your sister and it will cut the years in half for waiting time..Best of luck!

  10. Just got the email telling me that the choice of agent has been accepted and to pay the IV bill. Paid it on line. Just have to wait for the status to change to paid then I can print out the coversheet and mail the DS-203.

    Almost done with NVC.

Hi TayRivers, i have a question and want to know that how did you setup everything online on email, do they communicate on email, not via letter? or this is you who have to setup online through email.

    thanks

    Sohail

Once your case is at NVC you need to keep calling to find out if a case number has been assigned. Once it has you need to speak to the operator and they will ask for your email address and the beneficiary's email address.

I have only received emails from NVC nothing in the Mail. It is much faster when everything is done by email.

so your parents have to create an email address as the beneficiary and you, the petitioner your own email add for them to sent all those emails?? where do you pay all those fees, @ NVC website?? wow looking at your timeline, it was sssssoooo fast! I'd been a citizen since March but will be filing for my parents this Monday, I wonder how long it takes for them to get approved especially from PI..

Yes your parents will need a email address if they dont have one and cant get one then you would have to do everything by mail, that will slow you down.

The fees are paid on the NVC website by the Agent. Yes I was amazed how quick everything has gone I am hoping my parents will have a July interview and be here within a few weeks of that.

I have a question: for Ca resident should you file the I-130 @ Chicago lockbox zipcode 60680-1029 or Chicago lockbox zipcode 60680-4107? The I-130 Instruction form says the former but the Filing Instructions for I-130 that accompanied that form says the latter. Which is which??

I would send it to the one on the form, just make sure the form you are using is the latest one available from the USCIS website.

Yes. I have the latest form. It's just so confusing because the Filing Instructions for "where to file?" says that the Chicago Lockbox filing addresses shown there are the most current yet the I-130 form itself is the latest (expires 1/31/11) but is showing different zipcode( the last four)..

  11. I updated my citizenship and new address yesterday and did not encounter any problems at all. I had my card in my new married name so I did not bother to bring the Petition for Name Change that was stapled on my Certificate. I just have to wait for my new card in the mail. My hubby who's been a citizen for 6 yrs just updated his yesterday too..

  12. Hi to all!!

I hope you guys can help me with my problem. I filed my I-751 last month as married in good faith. Since I was divorced I want to use my middle name and last name when I was single. So when I fill up the application I wrote my middle name and last name when I was single. Recieved my receipt lat week and recieved my biometric appt yesterday. The problem is the last name that they have on my Biometric appt and reciept notice is still my last name when i was married but the middle name is correct (middle name that I use when I was single). Is this only a temporary for them? Using my last name when I was married then change it to my last name when I was single if they will approve my applicatoion? Has anybody here have experience like this? Am I gonna have a problem to get my biometric done? Please help me, I'm a little confuse right now.

    Thank you!

what they have in their record esp from your AOS is what they follow. But you can file I-90 replacement if you wanna spend $$$. I did that I-90 but on my N400 application they followed my previous name although I applied in my new name. I had to sign a Petition for name change on my Nat interview & received a copy of the Name Change & my Nat certificate on the day of my oath..

  13. Just got the email telling me that the choice of agent has been accepted and to pay the IV bill. Paid it on line. Just have to wait for the status to change to paid then I can print out the coversheet and mail the DS-203.

  14. I have a question. If I am not mistaken, the law states that if a beneficiary can show that they entered into the marriage in good faith, they will be presumed to not be at fault if the marriage does not work out. My question is this: How would USCIS construe this if the beneficiary is the one who files for divorce? Will the beneficiary still be presumed to not be at fault?

It depends. Some states have no-fault divorce like Ca. We never went to court & we did all by mail. As long as you can support the good faith marriage by providing evidences to the USCIS then it's up to them if they'll approve you or not.. One thing that it matters to me is that in my application for a new passport (PI for instance), I need to be the respondent for me to obtain a new passport in my old name or new name..

I am very confused as to what you meant when you said you needed to be the respondent for a new passport. What's "PI"? Will you clarify for me?

PI: Philippines. For me to obtain a Philippine passport, I should be the respondent in my divorce to a foreign national. That was during my I-751 stage, I travelled back to PI and needed a new passport. But now I am a US Citizen. But when I submitted my I-751, I submitted evidences like a regular I-751 filers with all docs from my marriage etc..

  16. On May 5, I received email from CRIS stating that my case is now pending at CSC. I was hoping at least to hear something from USCIS after a couple weeks but guess what??? I got a letter from USCIS in the mail today. CONGRATULATIONS!!!! YOUR REQUEST FOR THE REMOVAL OF THE CONDITIONAL BASIS OF YOUR PERMANENT RESIDENT CARD HAS BEEN APPROVED. YOU SHOULD RECEIVE YOUR CARD WITHIN 60 DAYS....... The letter is showing that the date of decision was May 5, 2009, the date when I received the email from CRIS. I am so happy and thanks to the Almighty. To all of you who are still waiting, hang in there..... you will receive your soon.

    congratulations!!!!! :dance::dance:
