My dad's I-130 was approved Aug 12 via the email notice and my mom's not. I sent them both together and their case numbers were consecutive as well. I hope I get the notice today for my mom's. I'd love to have their cases together..
Dont worry even if their approvals are a few weeks apart you can get them both on the same track at NVC. You just wait until both cases are at NVC and case numbers asigned then you just send all the paperwork for both cases in the same envelope and they will be linked at NVC, that way they get the interview on the same day.
thank you for that infos! that worries off my shoulder..

Congratulations mooninlove, it seems that all the long term people are moving. It is so great to see all the postings coming in. Your parents will be there before too long!
Best wishes
Richard
Yes indeed! I waited for almost 3 months for this approval. I am happy my dad's case been approved although I could have been much happier if both have been approved at the same time. I am still waiting for my mom's approval and hopefully I get the NOA2's soon..I checked last night and both got touches yesterday. It seems like the number 12's so significant in all my dealings with USCIS!

We were told to report at 9.15 and there was big line of people already. My wife got in the que and we waited in the sitting area. They just took her signed sheet of paper and her greencard, nothing else (I had documents in the car - just in case - but didn't bring them in). The ceremony started after about one hour (Around 10.15) - they had two or three videos and couple of speakers and then they had everybody stand up as they called out the names of their countries and then they were given the oath and then the pledge. It lasted about 40 - 45 minutes. There were around 300 new citizens from 80 countries - so quite a crowd. They had passport processors and voter registration people there but we didn't want to do that - we went to a Chinese restaurant - but it was closed - so Vietnamese instead!
Some friends and my sister were there also - but I think its quite a lot of time spent just waiting around. by the way - the naturalization certificate is unsigned - so my wife will sign it later on today (No one asked then to sign it). We may go to the post-office for passport application tomorrow. I will shred all the documents we have starting from the K1 application!
congratulations!!!!

After consulting with an attorney, I was told that when filing under a waiver, you need to present evidence regarding the reasons why you are filing under that waiver. If I were to file a waiver, it would be under the 'divorce' - Of course, I would need a final divorce decree, but what other evidence woud I submit to show the breakdown of the marriage? The attorney said a statement from me surrounding the breakdown of the marriage would be helpful, but It sounds as if it all comes down to 'he said/she said'....Additionally, my sister lives with us and can testify to some of these happenings in our marriage. What other things should I be looking for?
You need to submit evidences of you marital union like co-mingling of assets, debts, insurances, utilities, children if you have, anything that shows you entered in a good-faith marriage. You need the decree before you could file under a waiver. The one your attorney mentioned to you was the one I received as an RFE. Best of luck!

If you would consider "old" waiver filer story, here's my successful Removal of Condition case. Mine was filed wayback Aug2006 and received RFE Jan07 and granted my unconditional GC Feb12 2007 without an interview. I filed for my N400 Sep08 and officially became a USC Mar12, 2009. My N400 interview didn't go ok, there was a lot of this & that & whatsoever (my file from AOS-N400 application was in front of me scrutinized by the IO) but in the end it was approved. During the time my I-751 was pending, I remarried, had children and eventually had MORE peaceful and happy life. Goodluck to all of you going tru filing of waivers for I-751..

The interview was scheduled for 11am. Since we live less than 10 minutes from the USCIS office we stopped at FedEx kinkos to get the unnecessary updated passport style photos. We arrived at USCIS at 10:40am. We walked through security. We were the only people going through security. 2 of us and 3 security guards. Major difference from when we went for our GC interview 2 years ago. Anyway we went upstairs in the waiting room - the waiting room had large windows, flat screen TV with CNN, 1 security guard and many seats similar setup as the airport. Maybe 20 people waiting. We all were not there for N-400. There were 3 separate doors and an IO would come out every 2 minutes or so and try to announce someone's name. It seemed like the officer's from our door were solely naturalization cases.
After sitting down we watched some breaking news about a slim jim factory collapsing. Then at 10:59am (yes I looked at the exact time on CNN) I was called in. I asked if my husband could come with me and the officer politely said no. My husband told me to ask
We went to the end of the hall and went into his office. I took the oath and then he asked me all the yes and no questions. He asked me to write George Washington is the father of our country. Then he asked me 6 questions (listed below) from the civics test. I answered them all correctly, he had 4 more in case I missed any. He asked if I had a good marriage I responded that I had a normal marriage. He asked to see the birth certificates from our children. He kept the originals. He then received a phone call and excused himself. He said "this is my brother is Brazil, I am sorry". I didn't mind it - actually made the situation much more comfortable. He finished and asked if I had ever been married. He didn't ask for ANY other documents or the passport photos I took. I will use those for my passport. I could have taken my passport, GC & children's birth certificates and would have been fine. I noticed that my file probably from beginning to end, was very large. Where do they have room to store every persons file? Anyway he said that he was approving my case and said congratulations. He also gave me 2 pieces of paper. One with his decision of my case and the other with the Oath Ceremony instructions. He said I would receive the notice of Oath ceremony in the mail shortly. I went out and noticed it was 11:20am. So it took 20 minutes which included a personal phone call
1. The House of Representatives has how many voting members?
2. Who is the Chief Justice of the United States?
3. Who was President during World War I?
4. What did the Declaration of Independence do?
5. Name one state that borders Canada.
6. The Federalist Papers supported the passage of the U.S. Constitution. Name one of the writers.
This site has been a very useful tool for me and my husband and we will continue to use for years to come.
Congratulations!!!!!
you're almost done with your journey..

I get the impression it's not quite that seamless a process in Denver. The District Court website here says the following:How is the court involved in the naturalization process?
The district court holds ceremonies for those individuals requesting a court ceremony for the purpose of requesting a name change as part of their naturalization process.
Now that tells me that here, naturalizations with name changes are handled differently than naturalizations that do not involve name changes.
The ceremony I attended was 30 minutes ( I forgot how many of us) in Montebello Ca. There wasn't any difference I believe. After the ceremony we were ushered to the room were they hand over certificates according to your # written down on your oath notice. Like what I've said, I received my certificate and stapled to it is the Petition for Name Change signed by a US District Court granting me my name change. I am not sure if other people who filed for Change of Name had their ceremony hadled differently.

OPERATOR INFORMED ME THAT INTERVIEW APPOINTMENT FOR MOM WILL BE ON JULY 21,2009.
PLEASE UPDATE MY STATUSt
THANKS!
GRIFFIN
Congratulations Griffin!!
Goodluck to your mom..

yes you can still change your name if that's what you desire..just let the IO know if she does not mention. They usually go over again your application and ask this and that. If you wish to change your name then she'll type/print a Petition for Name Change with your infos, have you sign it and on your Oath Ceremony, you'll receive your certificate in your new name & attached to it is the Petition for Name change you signed during the interview with the certification & signature from the court.

Okay, thanks everyone for your recent replies but I have one more question as I am confused. In section 5 it states to list information about your children - list all your children.
My 2 children are both American citizens so am I supposed to leave that part blank or what should I put? I am assuming that this space is for people who have children who are also getting conditions lifted? Please help!
TY!
my kids are American and yes i wrote down their names and they're living with me..

oh ok..Thank you for the infos! as what Reshari said, you're very helpful to us who are still going tru that process..

Hi,
I've recently became US citizen (20 days ago) and submitted I-130s for my parents and 19 yrs old brother 2 days later.
I received NOA1 for all three I-130s last Saturday from CSC but none of the NOA1 had Priority Date (only had Receipt Date).
Is it normal or what might be the problem?
Please advise. Thanks.
Got the same thing. I think it's a generic receipt so no need to get alarmed..Best of luck on your cases.

Thanks for ur informations. How will i receive the I-864 package? By email or mail?
Once you have paid the AOS bill and it shows as "PAID" you will be able to print off the Barcode coversheet, you will also find a link on the same page that will take you to the forms you will need to file the AOS. If you do not want to wait for that then you can go and download the forms from the USCIS website.
If you have provided the NVC with email addresses for you and your spouce then you will not recieve anything in the snail mail you will get all the instructions and links to download forms in a email.
Tay, i have a question regarding the I-864. In part 2 (principal immigrant), i have to write down my mom's infos then in part 3 #9, should i put my dad's infos too so that makes them 2, the # of immigrants? i'll be filing two I-864 for my parents..thanks!

It's not because she's asking about this matter, we would judge her like she came here for the GC. I myself get into divorce but that does not mean i used him for that or to that effect. Everyone has a REASON why we ended up with the big D. If she has valid reason why and she can prove it then everything is up to her and the USCIS. If she wants to stay here or go anywhere else is none of our business. All she wants to know is if she can file removal. Yes you can file for removal even if you're divorced BUT in order to be approved, you have to prove you entered into a legit marriage and you have evidences to show you entered in good faith or have been subject to abuse.Best of luck.

Hello fellow members,
Am almost done gathering my documents for my removal of condition next month. Just wanna make sure so my questions are:
1- Do i need to send original letters addressed to both of us or Can I just scan them and print them?
2- I already got my Tax Transcript from the IRS., Do I need to send also the Income Tax return or the Tax Trnascript would be enough?
Thanks for your reply. I would appreciate it.
I made copies and sent it to them. I made copies of my ITR and had no probs with that. Best of luck.

to establish eligibility, the petitioner must submit evidence of the claimed spousal relationship
8 C.F.R 204.2(a)(2) state in pertinent part
evidence for petition for a spouse. in addition to evidence of united state citizenship or lawful permanent residence the petitioner must also provide evidence of the claimed relationship A Petition submitted on behalf of a spouse must be accompanied by... a certificate of marriage issued by civil authorities and proof of the legal termination of all previous marriages of both the the petitioner and the beneficiary.
a review of the record reflects that the petitioner did not initialy submit sufficient documentation to establish the claim relationship as required by the federal regulation therefore the uscis and immigration service afforded the petitioner an opportunity to submit the required evidence.
On march 10 2009 the petitioner was advice within 30 days the following evidence

2. form g325a properly completed and signed for Dennis Viray Tan
3. Two Passport Style photograph of the Petitioner Dennis Viray tan

The Petitioner has not submitted sufficient documentary evidence to qualify the beneficiary for classification as Spouse within the meaning of section 201(cool.gif(2)(A)(i) of the act therefore the petition is DENIED
do we need TO REFILE????
thanks
It seems your husband did not submit what is required of him to submit that's why your case was denied. You can make an appeal and submit all the documents including the G325a, MC & other relevant documents that proves of your marital union.

Hi i sent my petition papers for my dad, just want to confirm if its right, I-130 form, copy of my naturalization certificate, my birth certificate, my baptismal certificate (dont have my mom and dad marriage certificate) and 355 fee hope its fine....Just wanna ask what is the next step after this and till the end? what are the forms i need? cant understand why i read here it says VSC and CSC? i sent mine is chicago express mail...Anybody from the philippines know how long is the process? thanks.
filed mine on the 19th in Chicago where I-130's should be sent (just the I-130 nothing else) then they'll send it to the appropriate service center (mine was at CSC since I live in Ca). Upon receipt by your service center, they'll send you NOA1 which is the notice receipt and maybe before or after that, they should have encashed your fee of $355. After they make decisions on your dad's case, they'll send you an approval notice, thus the NOA2. After USCIS, your case goes to NVC for visa processing..It may take months (5-12 months) depending on how you respond to your case and other matters. You can take a look at the chart of CR1 to have an idea what's next, the forms etc..hope it helps..
