New update: Called the NVC today and my mom's case has been received. Case number was given to me and I gave my email address so I can process my parent's cases online..She said it'll take another week or 2 so i'll be waiting.. What's next for me? Can I send the DS3032 now via email?

Background: US Citizen filing for child (under 21) I - 130

On 5th September I received an RFE asking for a Birth Certificate, I sent it on the 10th of September, and today I received an email where they have stated receiving the required documents (14th September).

Now: How long until it gets approved at the USCIS, as my child will be turning 21 in December ( I know CPA applies, but not when it is sent to the NVC) how long should I expect until it gets approved and how much time does it take to be sent to the NVC after that period? On average?

Once it has been approved and sent to the NVC and assigned a case number, I will be sending them an email about expedited processing but I am just wondering how long it until it gets approved and sent.

Anyone have any ideas?

EDIT: Service center is California, and most likely NVC/Consulate is the one in Montreal, Canada.

Note: Beneficiary is filing from Canada.

Mine took 5 days after they received the RFE but the I-130 approval was for my mom..

finally my dad got approved...i checked the website and it says on september 10 we mailed the approval notice...thank God

Received NOA2 for my mom they sent the case to NVC so i'll be active in calling the NVC next week so I can start the visa processing..

That's good news! I was delayed for a year too filing I-751 but on my case it was not my fault but still granted anyways. Keep us updated & i wish you & your wife goodluck!

I sent DS-3032 for my Dad via e-mail to NVC last week and just received two forms today from NVC via e-mails:

DS-3032 and AOS Fee Bil ($70)

Does this mean NVC acknowledged receiving my DS-3032 or do I still have to resend it via e-mail and by mail?

There was no acknowledgement they received my DS-3032 e-mail.

And mooninlove, how did you ask NVC to have your Dad case waiting for your Mom's case? did you ask NVC by phone or e-mail?

I called them 2 days after receiving by mail the NOA2. The Officer asks infos about me and my dad and email add but told them my mom's case is still pending so i'll wait for it and she said that's fine. Maybe around 2 weeks or less I received by mail the DS3032 & AOS fee for my dad. As Tay have said, no need to make further actions if I wanted to wait for my mom's case and that's what I did. So hoping this week they have already my mom's case @ NVC.

My mom's name is slightly different from my BC, their MC and the I-130 form..I provided all docs that proves that this & that person is one.

How did you do it? We have the same case. My mom's name in my BC and her bc is Arnie but in her mariage cert, it's arne. What doccuments did you submit to prove that this and that peron is the same. thank you!

I provided my baptismal certificate wherein her name was Rosita Emerita, all her school records (she's a teacher) are all Rosita and her MC was just Emerita. In my BC they put her nickname as well so it was confusing! I provided my baptismal record, school records, her legal change of name( from NSO) to Rosita, affidavits, pictures of me and my mom during my highschool grad-vacation '07 to PI, letters of her with that name and barangay clearance. As you have known, it was approved

all are photocopies.they did not asked for originals. hope that helps.

i got RFE on my mom's I-130 @ CSC..it was her name being slightly different from my BC (mrs.xxx), MC(mrs.xx) and the I-130 form(mrs.xx).It's been approved after 5 days of waiting.

I've just received an email that my mom's I-130 has been approved and an approval notice has been sent as of tonight 9/8/09! Thanks God! I sent the RFE 8/31 and was received 9/03 and 5 days later they approved it! My dad's approved petition's been waiting for almost a month @ NVC. Now I can process them together..woohooo!!!!!!!

Update: received email stating that the response to the RFE has been received and case processing has been resumed for my mom's case..crossing my fingers for speedy approval..

Should i start paying online for my dad's AOS? And eventhough I received this DS3032 form, can i still email them the DS3032 and opt for electronic processing? I am planning to wait for my mom's approval before I start my dad's AOS & DS3032, is that possible? Besides, I save $70, I wanted that both cases are processed together..help!

You do not need to take action on your dad's case right now. You can wait for the approval of your mothers I-130 and then do all the paperwork for NVC at the same time.

No harm will be done to your dad's case by waiting, the case can stay at NVC for 12 months before they would return it to USCIS because of no action.

Richard, as you said the speed of the NVC part of the journey is breath taking. You will be getting on the flight before you know it.

what a bummer i guess it will be delayed for weeks until it's resolved..i told my mom to give me copies of all info's from her job-affidavits from friends and families so i can include on that RFE..for now just wait and see for me! Goodluck to evryone, i'll catch up soon

JUST RECEIVED EMAIL FROM USCIS , MY DAD'S I130 HAS BEEN APPROVED AND LETTER WAS SENT VIA MAIL ON AUG. 19TH, CAN'T WAIT TO GET NEWS FROM NVC.!!!

Congratulations!! I called the NVC today after a week of my dad's approved case @ USCIS and it just got to their system yesterday. The Lady Officer asked for the beneficiarys name & DOB and same thing with me, the petitioner. She asks for email addresses but opted to just wait till my mom's case gets approved. In that way the other case can catch up and have their papers processed altogether including their interviews..

Hello VJ'ers..I'm just wondering if dad's assignment of case # can wait for the meantime until my mom's petition be approve..Both have been touched 8/13/09 yet my dad's case has been approved since 8/12 and mom's not. I already received my dad's NOA2 and his case has been sent to NVC.. I'm hoping I could have both my mom & dad's case be processed together @ NVC or is this just a wishful thinking? thanks!

Yes mooninlove they can be processed together at NVC all you need to do is, once you have the NVC case number for the case that has already been approved let NVC officer know that you will be waiting for your mothers case to be approved before you move on. That way once both cases are at NVC you can go forward with both cases together. So dont take any action on the approved case until the other one has got to NVC.

This happens a lot and NVC are used to people waiting for the other case to catch-up before the take any action. Just make sure that once both cases are at NVC you send all information for both cases together.

I received yesterday the NOA2 hard copy and it confirms that the case has been sent to NVC. So how early can I call the NVC and what's the number again? Still waiting for my mom's approval..

Further to my message about my daughter giving our email details to the NVC. She felt uneasy about this and called back to check.

She found out that the first lady had not bothered to enter the email details!

She made sure this time that they were definitely added.

Be aware and double check everything!
