Congrats to everyone who had their case completed and interviews set.
I just checked the AVR and it's saying that I am missing documents, I was worried so I talked to a Rep and she said it's about the DS-230, which they haven't even sent me a checklist yet. I just paid last week and sent IV package couple of days ago.
I am a little worried about my parent's Police Certificate since they did not put a thumb print on it..Anybody knows if it's going to be a problem???
I only sent a copy of my dad's military record since he wants to keep all originals, would they want original copies for that too??
Thanks!!!
is AVR saying NVC reviewed packet and we found missing document (not exactly saying DS230 right) and we sent a letter by mail etc? it is same to me as well but I didnt get time to talk with Rep yet. but making sure with you.
It could be that your DS230 package has not been opened and entered into their system. You'll receive an email about it and the notice will tell you what exactly it was. But if they needed additional docs from you, they'll email you again to let you know what they needed from you like the RFE I received 3 days ago. But if it's just about the DS230 that have not arrived yet although surely it's in their mail room, then there's nothing to worry about. My dad's NBI and police clearance were accepted. Not sure if it has fingerprints on it but the NBI form does. Best of luck!
AVR is not really specific about which documents I"m missing, but the Rep said it's about my DS-230 package which I'm sure they haven't recieved yet..it's probably still in their mailroom as what they always said. She never told me there's something missing with my AOS. If you want to make sure, talk to a Rep..

I got the checklist email today and it listed what they need from me & my parents. There were gaps in my mom's residence (#30 part1) so she needs to redo it. They need Original copies of their BC & MC which I don't understand.I sent certified copy from NSO (PI's issuing authority) & attached it to my mom's case & copy to my dad's case. And also my MC which I sent & bears official seal & certified, they still need me to send the same thing again.. Does anybody received the same thing? Original or certified original to be sent back to NVC?
hi cathy so sorry to hear that...now im worried too bcoz all the sent is certified copy...lets just pray that everything will be fine...
Yeah..I called them and they only need my mom's DS230 part1 and police certificate again. At least they were able to figure out that it was indeed a certified copy of the Originals (BC & MC). Whew, i worried for a minute there. I'll be sending it back the soonest I get those docs..

IMO, ya got it backwards.
For original submission, copies are OK.
For NVC PROCESSING, need ORIGINALS plus REGULAR PHOTOCOPY. A Certified Copy is OK if it's issued as a Certified Copy from the Issuing Authority.
These instructions changed up in 2007, October, I think?
I'm not knocking ya, but if you were using old forms, I can understand the confusion.
I used the latest forms and read the guides at NVC website.I sent Certified Copy of the ORIGINAL with annotations from the issuing authority which was NSO for PI for my parents MC & BC. So all the certified copies of originals (including my MC from Clark County with stamps and official seal) were in my mom's case and photocopies attached to my dad explaining to them all originals were held in my mom's case. I talked to the operator and they'll have to review it again and wait for 10-15 days. Looking back at the DS230 #30 my mom wrote it down from 6/30/1973-5/31/1978 at xx then 6/01/1978-present at xx so i don't see any gaps of 6 months there on her residences. So frustrating..
OK - so you decided to use NVC Instructions for the Original I-130 submittal. Can't do anything to reverse your decision, alas. No portable time-machine here to retrieve those documents.
Ideally, a fresh set of originals should be 'gotten' and sent it to NVC with the DS-230. But - if you can persuade 'The Boss' to get them out of your casefile and use @NVC, you might have some luck. I dunno.. It's worth a shot, and a big shot, at that.
Good Luck, however it turns out.
I know especially when it's so hard to get those copies from our country. While waiting for them to review again, i asked my parents to get me asap a new set of those documents. and of course my MC which i have to get a certified copy again and that means $$$. Geez, can they not tell a certified copy of originals with all those stamps and seal from a regular photocopy?!..sorry guys to vent it out here..it's soo frustrating on my part.

Was just looking at the NOA1 for my I130 and noticed there are 2 dates on there...a received date and a notice date. Just wanted to know which date should I follow to keep track of the processing times. Thanks in advance!
received date is your priority date. the notice date was the date when they sent you the NOA1.

After paying IV bills, once we get DS230 checklist by email, does that mean OR can we say I864 is approved/accepted?
Actually that's the other side of the track..if your DS3032 is accepted, they send you the IV bill. Once paid you can send the DS230. The first stage which was the AOS fee, upon payment you send the I-864. Once accepted/entered into their system then your done on this track. You just have to wait for the completion of review of your DS230 and you'll receive notice of case complete (according to those who were done already). After which they'll schedule the date & time of interview and also send your case to your embassy..You can schedule them for their medicals as well.

She'll be having a big problem when she removes conditions on her card because their marriage just didn't work in the 1st place. She has to prove that to the USCIS. Secondly, i didn't read if she already adjusted her status at all and she has her card. It's just a total mess & i don't see where this issues go or will it ever progress into something beneficial to the OP.
with regards to the BAH, yes as a military wife/dependent & enrolled @ DEERS, they get an allowance for that (BAH) & it depends on your rank and base. The BAH is included in their LES below Entitlements. They have their base pay, BAS, BAH & right now they get extra $$$ for clothing too. But of course, there are deductions as well. As a wife, you should have been given your military card, tricare benefits, dental & other benefits bit it seems your hubby does not care at all. Were you enrolled @ DEERS? You have the right to find out & absolutely letting their higher commands knows about this helps you out.
Your situation is just hard right now esp there's a mistress pregnant with twins, GC, the divorce drama etc.. and so on..i just wish you well and best of luck to you.

I received my interview date email from NVC! for Dec 1, 2009!
Domi22, there are 2 types of RFE:
FALSE RFE - if NVC claims it is missing entire document and you just sent it less then a week ago
REAL RFE - if it was more then a week since you mailed your packet and NVC emails you a request for a specific document like birth certificate etc.
Congratulations and goodluck on her interview!! Btw, I sent my DS230 like a week ago and like Domi22 & vveell got that emails of missing docs which of course has been there with them all along. The AVR's delayed i guess. Well we hope and crossing my fingers to have case completed in the next week or two..

mooninlove,
Similar to your cse, I called NVC and was told NVC sent the "missing document" letter to me on 10/23/09 and also received it via e-mail for both parents.
However, when I read the attached "missing document" letter, it appeared it was DS-230 package (said receive I-864 but not DS-230 yet). I sent the DS-230 last Friday and it was delivered to NVC on Monday 10/26/09...I think the AVR message and the letter e-mail was just a reminder of what they have not received, but may not be "missing document" after they received the DS-230.
I may be wrong but Below is the content of this letter (for your info):
MISSING DOCUMENT LIST FOR:
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
______CORRESPONDENCE INSTRUCTIONS:_________________________________
When responding to the National Visa Center, please include the bar code sheet that came with this
letter. Failure to include the bar code sheet may cause a delay in the processing of your case. The bar
code sheet should be placed on top of all documents being submitted for this case and mailed to the
address provided.
______IMMIGRANT VISA APPLICATION:__________________________________
The NVC has received the requested Affidavit of Support form (I-864) for this case. However, we are
still waiting for the Immigrant Visa Application (DS-230) and corresponding civil documents for each
traveling applicant to be returned to National Visa Center for review. You will find the DS-230 form
along with complete instructions for submitting the civil documentation required for this case at
www.ImmigrantVisas.state.gov under the Applicant Document Processing link.
We urge you to send in the DS-230 form(s) and required civil documentation for each traveling family
member in one package to the National Visa Center (NVC). Sending the information in separately may
cause delays in the processing of the case.
______FEE PAYMENT:_________________________________________________
The NVC has received the requested Affidavit of Support (I-864). However, we are still waiting for the
Immigrant Visa fee(s). Please submit the fee(s) according to the instructions on the IV fee bill sent to
you from NVC. DO NOT SEND FEE PAYMENTS TO THE NVC NEW HAMPSHIRE FACILITY.
THIS WILL DELAY PROCESSING OF THE VISA. If you have not received an IV fee bill, please
contact NVC. Do not pay the fees unless you have the accompanying IV fee bill as this will result in a
delay in processing your case.
Ok, i got the emails just now and it was the same thing quoted above. I got 2 emails as a CHECKLIST of a missing documents and the contents says they're awaiting for my DS230 and civil documents. I already mailed the said docs last week. So I think the AVR was just a reminder for me on what to send them although the said DS230 is already in their mailroom waiting to be sorted.. At least I won't worry for any RFE just yet.

Thanks for the info Domi22! I have not received any email notices for that "missing document" & that letter they sent on 10/23/09. But before that AVR, i was able to talked to an operator and my I-864 was already accepted and entered into their system. While my DS230 has been delivered the following week it is still in their mailroom @ that time. I hope it's a false RFE. I have to call them again just to make sure what that "missing docs" is..

updating my parents cases. i just got approval emails from uscis for both of my parents I130. it also said the approval notices was mailed it to me on OCT 27th. very happy.
please help me, what should i do next.
congratulations!! you have to wait till it gets to NVC then provide to them your email or your parents email to receive notifications and payment of fees..Btw, when you receive RFE, does NVC sends email notices too?
-
I called NVC this morning and tru the AVR, they sent me a letter on Oct 23 for a missing document that they're reviewing which was the DS230. Also, I talked to the operator the other day and the I-864 has been accepted and entered into their system. So for the DS230, i'm wondering what it was coz I made sure I sent all originals (on my mom) & copy attached to the other case (dad) so as not to get another RFE..I think I'm in for another delay..
-
thanks, moninlove. i had got the same email like the begining of last week. i am just wordering if they are working on the case, by that i meant i should get the approval soon. how long did you get your approval after they received the RFE?I just checked usics website, it says "On October 13, 2009, we received your response to our request for evidence......." however, i haven't hear anything from them yet. does anybody know how long does it take uscis to process the RFE?
Mine was 5 days. they sent me an email that they've received the RFE and that they continue processing my mom's case.. I am still awaiting for the DS230 review until now..
5 days upon their receipt but it depends on each cases. Mine was for my mom's first name slightly different from my BC. It was touched once and received the email approval on the 5th day.
@ Feliz: Congratulations!!!! still waiting here for case complete. were you notified via email for the I-864 & DS230 complete review?

i have few questions which really bothers me. i just paid the IV bill.
1. my mom's birth certificate is late registered, she can't get a SECPA yet from NSO but she has her birth certificate from civil registrar with NSO authentication. would this be fine? she already had her passport using this birth certificate because it will take about 1 year before she can get a SECPA copy from NSO.
2. Am i going to submit also her local police certifcate from our city? or just the NBI clearance?
thanks guys.
I sent my mom's BC authenticated by NSO, same thing with my dad. I included the police certificate & the NBI as well just in case.

I am wondering if anyone knows the timeframe of 2 items: 1) time between receival of DS230 pkg and case being complete at NVC and 2) time between NVC case being complete and Interview date/email
If all the required docs are submitted and NVC doesn't need to issue RFEs, then about 2 weeks from DS-230 receipt to case completion. From that to interview email is about 1 week.
How about the I-864? will they send you an email for it's completion of review? My I-864 was rcvd last week and my DS230 was delivered yesterday. patiently waiting here..
-
CASE COMPLETE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Congrats Richard!! So happy for you!!

Update: The IV bill shows PAID today after 3 days of waiting. I sent the DS230 as well so hoping for a quick case complete. It could take 2-3 weeks depending if there's no delay right? waiting begins..

I am an american citizen and i'm trying to help out a friend with some advices. I know this site is the best and there are people here with tons of knowledge that can help out. My frind has been married for 3 years with an american citizen and now he has the Conditional Green Card. He needs to remove conditions in the summer of 2010 but his marriage seems to be deteriorating, they no longer get along and fight all the time and now it looks like the divorce is imminent. He will probably have to remove the Conditions on his own. They do have joint bills and lease together. There was no abuse involved in the marriage so the divorce will be no fault.
-What paperwork(waiver) he needs to file when the divorce is completed?
-same I-751 form part II check d
-What are the chanses cases like this approved?
-nobody knows.depends on each case scenario/evidences
-How long does it usualy take to get his unconditional GC after applying for the removal of conditions?
-takes 6 months or more. again depending on each case.
-
to Tay: do you mind if you can start this thread as a new topic like Part II? and copy paste our USCIS-NVC process chart of all who joined to that 1st topic? I have problem looking at 55 pages of other vjers timeframe/progress/timelines. This is if you don't mind. But if it's too much to ask then never mind. thanks.

My mother got an e-mail from NVC telling her that the DS-3032 has been accepted. It took from September 22 until yesterday October 8th. I will let you know (specially mooninlove ant IT_1) when I get the IV bill. Please be adviced not to pay this bill until the you get the IV bill e-mail. Tay, it is great to have contacts with an NVC insider.
I also got Email from NVC about ds3032, now i am waiting for IV fee email..... I am not going to pay bill untill i receive IV email.
Update: i received 2 emails from NVC which is the OLP IV Fee Agent letter. This came a day after my DS3032. IT_1 and others, yours gonna come soon for sure. I'll pay the IV bill tonight..Goodluck to all of us!
Happy to see progress on your case..
Thanks! Now i have my mom's Invoice ID# too which i thought would slow down the case so it's a pretty good day for me! I notice you sent your DS3032 the same day like mine and was accepted the same day like mine so i'm sure your IV fee email is on it's way. crossing my fingers for that!

Shouldn't be a copy of the bio pages of their passport be included as one of the docs needed on the DS230? I included a copy of my parents passport bio pages..
