number when to delivered the docs to our home, true enough what the call center agent told me that it will be delivered tomorow(today).
Currently Im searching for air ticket for LA/LAX.

I have a question: Did you schedule your embassy appointment for your 3rd day in MNL?
- No, I have an appointment letter from the embassy when I took my medical.
- For people who have an interview date, upon passing the medical exam, seems like 3 days in between the medical and interview date is fine. (actually, mine is only 2 days )
- For people who do advance medical w/o appointment letters, I believe medical results' (upon passing) validity is 6 months, so plan well ahead of time.
It would seem that IF everything goes normal then you can schedule 2 days for SLMCEC and 1 day for embassy. Thx again.
- If I understand this right, if for example: Mon & Tue is your medical and Wednesday is your interview date (suppose that it's your interview date), they won't forward your results to the embassy (since they don't have enough time to do so), instead - they'll hand you a sealed envelope of your medical results, and that you need to bring on your interview day... well, you must have a good reason tho for taking the medical exam so close to your appointment day, else, there could be a chance that you might have to reschedule.
I'm glad you find my guide helpful good luck to your fiance
what a good info! my parents interview will be on the 11th of Jan and since holidays are in in the next few days i moved their medical to be done by the 4th which is 1 week before their interview..that's just fine right?do you know where IR5 can take their cfo seminars at?? and also what/how much do they have to pay when they're at the airport? salamat..

My parents interview @ USEmbassy will be on the 11th of Jan.. Can they have their seminars at St.Marys or the other site? and any docs to bring with them?? any help/infos is appreciated..thanks!
-
i went to St. Mary's last Thursday. didn't want to go to PRISM coz everybody said they have a BDO orientation which takes soooo long. the seminar at St. Mary's was pretty direct to the point. they were correct in saying that the docs needed vary depending on your case. for me, before i went there, I called them to ask what documents i needed to bring. they said that since i already have a visa, i just need to bring 3 photocopies of my visa and 3 photocopies of my passport.
after the seminar, you dont need to go to the CFO head office anymore because they already have a CFO satellite office in St. Mary's. that's where they give you the CFO sticker and the green paper that needs to be stapled in your passport.
seminar started a little after 1:30PM. i finished the whole process by 4PM.
Could someone tell me the locations of both, docs to bring & how much to pay?? My parents interview will be on Jan 11 and I wanted them to take their medical & seminar when they go to Manila this month. Thanks!!

On the last page of the Interview Letter you received lists the "Document Status Description"Y = The required document has been received and accepted.
O = The original document has been received and accepted as meeting post
requirements.
F = This form is not necessary for this application.
Only if it says "A" the description below...you need to take them...otherwise you should be good.....
A = Applicant must acquire this document and present it at the time of the interview.
Hope this helps...Good Luck, Thanks, Raj
Hello all,I received e-mail about interview and had some questions that you could help. The list of required documents has certain "Dcoument Status" and I need help to confirm what my parents still need to bring to the interview:
Immigration Visa Application Y
Birth Certificate O
DS-230 Part II F
Which "Document Status" still requires to bring either original or photocopy to the interview?
Please advise. Thanks.
That's right. On my case, the only thing it says on my email that my parents needs to bring is their interview notice, passport, 2x2 photos & medical results which the latter is usually sent directly to the embassy.I sent a copy of our Nat Cert for them to bring just in case they ask for it. I read it somewhere that they asks for the co-sponsor's Nat cert so just to be safe, I sent one. I'm not sure if it applies but hey I don't want to wait any longer again.. Best of luck!
is Nat Cert stand for naturalization certificate(the citizenship paper)?
yes.
Hi all, I have news, called NVC and per OP my daughter's interview is JAN 12 9:15 a.mcongratulations robotica97!!

My parents went for their medical exam a few weeks ago and told me that there was a message on Saint Luke's monitors (the hospital where they had their medical exam) saying that they should bring every original supporting documents on their interview. Is this true?
I also sent my AOS with my Tax return for 2008 plus pay stubs plus offer letter from my current employer on my application. Do I still need to send them a copy of I-864 and Income Tax Return for their interview?
Thanks very much. By the way, their interview is scheduled early next month! Thanks everyone for their help during this process.
It depends. Look at your email notice and find out what missing docs or requirements they need to bring. If it says you need to provide this then they must bring it. My notice (btw, their interview will be next month!) says they need to bring their passports, interview notice, medical results(this is directly sent to the USE) and 2x2 photos..Goodluck!
Hi Mooninlove,
There's one note on the reminder saying:
IF a sponsor filed an I-864 (Affidavit of Support) AND provided the NVC with proof of an IRS Federal Income Tax Extension in lieu of a Federal Income Tax Return, the applicant must bring the sponsor's most recent Federal Income Tax Return to the visa interview.
I did sent the I-864 with my Federal Income Tax Return for 2008, plus my pay stubs for several months plus my offer letter for my current employer.
Do I still need to send my parents the AOS + Income Tax Return documents?
Thanks again.
Got the same note on the email but this is generic. If you had sent the copies as required then you're good to go. It says there that if you filed the I-864 and provided the IRS Federal Income Tax Extension in lieu of a Federal Income Tax Return then that's the time you had to send those forms to your parents and have them bring it on their interview. But you've provided the I-864 with your ITR so nothing to worry there.I gave my parents our Nat Cert+ original NOA2 just in case. When is your parents interview??

Thanks again everyone. The Courier turned up an hour late! But we now have passports in hand and two huge brown envelopes. I am paranoid now about the envelopes so I have double wrapped them so they cannot be mistakenly opened!
Our flights are as scheduled although we are a little concerned about the heavy snow forecast overnight! But the whole journey has not been easy so its nothing new!
I shall write up the point of entry experience over the weekend.
Best wishes to everyone and I hope you have success in your own visa journey and have a very Merry Christmas.
Richard
congratulations Richard!!! finally you got the best Christmas gift ever! Have a wonderful holidays here in the US soon!

Hello to all VJ's,
My Dad's Name on his birth certificate , baptismal, marriage contract names is Naciano..But in my birth certificate is NANCIANO. I filed petition for my Dad and i put his real name Naciano instead of NANCIANO. I submitted the application along with his affidavit stating that Naciano and Nanciano is the same person..IS there any conflict that would cause delay on his applications??
Thanks and hoping to hear from you guys!
It happened to me. My mom's name is slightly different on my BC. So what I did was I provided an affidavit, photos of me and my mom when I was younger and when I visited them recently. I also sent a picture of her with my kids, her ID showing her name and documents from her work that shows I am her daughter. So overall it reconciles everything that this and that person is one, my mom.. It was approved and we're just waiting for their interview this January.. Goodluck!

Congratulations!!!!
It seems quite early for an interview at 6:30am. Thought American government wouldn't start working till 9 or so
Called the NVC as well & got my parents interview date: JAN11 @ 6:30am.That makes me wonder as well but it says there on the email 6:30am . So i'm thinking that they won't open until 7-7:30 maybe and they will be the 1st one on the line. We'll see but i'm happy to finally have their interview notice on hand.

got the email notice for interview today as well!

Hi Tigerinroc,
Per the operator, my parents' interview date would be on 1/12/2010 (after reading your post about interview date, I called and the operator told me. Thanks Tigerinroc).
Cheers!
congratulations!!
-
Per operator, my parents interview date is 1/14/10.
lucky you! congratulations!! still waiting here for my interview notice. I'm gonna call NVC later..
I need some input, I have everything ready for my ds-230 package. i called my bank this morning and they told me the money had already taking out, so it only a matter of time before NVC update my statu to PAID. HOWEVER as i was talking with my mother last night, it turns out that this whole time i had copies of her birth certificate and the original is still with her grrrrrr. so i want to know should i go ahead an send my package and wait for NVC to send me a RFE(so i can send this original birthcertificate) or should i wait on my mother to send it to me, and then send out the package? You better ask your mom to send it quick rather than waiting for an RFE which will prolong the process. See my timeline after I got the RFE for my DS230. Best of luck!
-
Thanks Tigerinroc, let see hope they will make copies from original.. yeah otherwise i will be ready for sending them if they needed..fingers crossed... good luck to myself..Smithjohnatpa,
I did some search but could not find any thing like what you asked. Hopefully, the NVC will kindly make the copies from the original documents. If not, they would ask for RFE. So all you can do now is keep your fingers crossed. Worst scenario, send in the copies when you get the RFE.
did you file for both parents?? if you did, what did you submitted with the other case. if you have doubts, you can call NVC to verify it if you have not submitted any copies. if i see postings similar to yours, i'll surely inform you. best of luck!

Hi all,
The AVR just said this morning that my case was completed yesterday and the operator said I would receive e-mail confirmation and interview appointment later. Finally this journey is almost done...
For those with similar situation (USCIS asked for originals, especially the petitioner's Birth Certificate, then sent them to NVC after case approved by USCIS), here is the lesson I learned from my situation:
1) File Form G-884 Request For The Return of Original Document right after USCIS sent the case to NVC (to make sure they return to the petitioner or confirm it was sent to NVC)
2) "CALL" NVC right after you have a NVC Case No, and request to talk to a supervisor to ask for someone to check your case for the original you want.
I wasted almost 2 months because I trusted what both USCIS and NVC said about the originals I sent to USCIS due to an RFE (original BC and original Petition for Name Change). After case transfered to NVC, I called USCIS and they said everything I submitted would be sent along to NVC, so contact NVC. I called NVC and was told to write to NVC via e-mail about what I want. Three weeks later, I received the very general response: further action is taken, etc...and nothing else after that. Then I called NVC and was told to write an e-mail with title "Attention: PI supervisor named....". Nothing after almost 3 more weeks. By this time I already submitted both I-864 and DS-230 packages. Then shortly after that I received "missing documents" checklist about the Petitioner's original Birth Certificate. I then called NVC and asked to talk to a supervisor named given to me when writing e-mail attention to her. She was very helpful and assigned someone to look into my case file for that document (it took a whole week though) and finally NVC confirmed they found this original in my file. I was lucky it did not get lost even though I asked my parents for another Certified Copy sent to me in case NVC could not find it but it would be much worse if the Petition for Name Change was lost because then I will need to ask for it from the government and you know how long it takes to get it...
Bottom line: I trusted both USCIS and NVC about what they said or told me to do and paid the price of wasting almost 2 months in NVC. I should have been more proactive at the very beginnign when NVC assigned a Case No. Hope my lesson would be beneficial to anyone in a similar situation...
Thanks everyone for help and comfort during this journey.
Cheers for my case completion!
Congratulations!! best of luck to all of us!

Hello,
I have submitted DS-230 and all required documents to NVC and received checklist letter stating that I, petitioner need to submit the original marriage certificates for previous marriages.
I will not be able to submit either original or certified copy of the marriage certificate for my previous marriage. The previous marriage occurred in 2001 (overseas), and I had divorce in 2002, therefore the marriage certificate was taken from me by Court in order to go through the divorce process. After divorce has occurred, divorce certificate is issued and provided to the person.
At this point I do not know if NVC will proceed with my case further because I can not provide the previous marriage certificate.
Shall I write a letter explaining why I can not provide the previous marriage certificate?
I do have the divorce certificate for my previous marriage. Shall I send the divorce certificate?
Did anyone else have similar situation?
If you can not provide the certificate beyond your control then you can provide the divorce certificate and attach a statement why you can not. It's better to try and see how it goes. Best of luck.

My parents case has just been completed on Monday. I want to know if anyone had done their medicals at St.Lukes in advance even without the Interview notice yet. If it's possible, what documents should they bring? Salamat!
-
Hello fellow members,
I sent the RFE documents and was worried that the copies i sent them are all in black and white when the originals are colored.
I went to Office Max and have my original documents photo copied since my scanner is not working but then Office max personnel said they don't copy colored original legal documents coz it is illegal.
My question is..is black and white copy of documents okey? The original documents are colored like the RFE notice is blue, the NSO birth certificate is yellow but all they gave me were black and white...now am starting to worry..would this be okey?
I would appreciate any info.
If they are asking originals or certified copy of the originals, you have to send them what you obtained from the issuing authority. That's what happened to me on my DS230. I received an RFE for that and I had to ask my mom to send me asap what she had gotten from the NSO. I sent it back to NVC the originals (blue colored in NSO paper) and my case has been complete as of Monday..
-
Congratulations Richard-UK! Goodluck for the remaining process! Btw, when you had your medical, did you wait to have the email notice copy with you or you booked it since the case was complete?
Interview for my parents in Manila next month, what documents should they bring?

My rfe was on the DS230 residence gap, Police clearance and the BC's/MC of my parents. I sent back DS230 form completed, mom's new police clearance and their original BC & MC fr NSO. Btw, do you know how much the delivery fees (air21) for visa after approval?
