  1. I would guess you would have to pay again to get the medical done again. the medical certification is only good for 6 months for a visa, but 1 year for AOS...in most cases. I am guessing they just want him to get another medical check..so that would be another 2 day ordeal. Have you tried to call the Embassy or St. Lukes to see what they say?

    They were able to go to the Embassy and obtained the form stating that my dad needs to go for a Psychological test. Went to St.Lukes and they told him to wait for the arrival of his passport and then he can do walk-in for that. He just need to pay P1000..My mom & dad were interviewed together but mom received her visa Friday morning.

  2. I called the Dept of State today and they informed me that my dad needs medical reevaluation from St.Lukes. Does this mean I need to repay his medical fees again? And for how long does it usually take for them to evaluate such kind of case? I just hope it's not something serious at all. Anyone who went for medical reevaluation lately? Thanks for any help.

  3. My parents went to the Embassy on their Infodesk, surprisingly 4 days upon submission of additional documents, they actually sent us a copy which my parents did not received at all. Good thing they went to the embassy and as of yesterday, they provided the other doc needed. they mentioned that they continue reviewing it and make decisions by next week. so currently we're on our 2wks of AP and hoping for a good news this coming week..

  4. hi. looks like you submit more than what they asked for so your fiance should be fine.

    usually it takes 2 weeks to a month, depending on hoe fast you are able to respond to the req for more docs and how fast they are able to get back to your application.

    don't worry, sinve the passport wasn't returned and you submitted the correct docs needed, there's no reason for your fiance to be denied a visa.

    just wondering though, was not paying for air21 delivery your choice or the consular officer's?

    because unless the CO told you not to, you should have paid for it already.

    Like you, I am awaiting for visa release from the embassy as well. My parents were interviewed on Jan11 and received the white paper stating to get an NBI clearance with aka and my Birth Certificate as well.The Consul returned their passports. So they gathered the said additional requirements and submitted it on the 19th. they took their passports and they said they will contact them when approved and will pay the visa CDO. We're currently waiting for any good news..

  5. thank you! Only fiancee and spouse needs to do seminar. The Immigrant such as parent they just need to register their selves and get the sticker. And pay P400. They can't register until they have the visa on hand. So how's your parents case now Mooninlove?

    They've submitted the additional requirements so we're still waiting. So where did they registered at? Only in CFO Manila (Citigold)? That's good if immigrants won't attend seminars and just register themselves like you've said..

  6. Hi! I just wanna know if there's anyone here that were allowed to have their seminar in advance although their is visa still pending? My parents (IR-5 category) are waiting for their visa and wanted to do an advance seminar while they are still in Manila. Can they do PDOS eventhough their visa's not released yet? And can they do this at St.Marys or only at the other site. Thank you for any reply!

  7. Hello!

    I just want to let you know that my Mother got her interviewed done yesterday and got approved!! It was 0830 in the morning and she said that the consul was so nice to him and he asked few questions like what's the petitioner's job, where do you intended to live in the US? If do we have a child/children? What's my husband's name and job? So we're so happy that it's done, finally! Thank you all!

    congrats!!! where did they do their seminar at? according to my mom, they cannot do advance seminar for immigrants.they have to wait until their visa arrives..

  8. just got a phone call from my Mom.Air21 just delivered my daughter's visa.I am soooo happy! Thanks God!

    congratulations!! how long did u wait? after my parents interview on the 11th, they went straight to NSO Pasay to secure a copy of my BC and was able to get their NBI with aka. they'll be submitting these papers on tuesday hoping that my BC will be there by then. I'm wondering if IR5 pending case will take that long too..so frustrating.

  9. Hi Mooninlove! Just wondering what's the questions were asked during the interview. My Mother will have her interview this coming thursday. I am worried about her so I am searching about the questions to help her..if you don't mind sharing their experiences, thanks! About your case, I think it will be ok. I just don't know how long.

    The Consul only asked 3 questions: Who petitioned you? When did they (me and my hubby) got married? How many kids do they have & how old are they?. After which the Consul check this and that. Afterwards the Consul gave them a verification sheet for them to acquire a new NBI clearance with aka and my BC from NSO because of the name difference in some docs. Upon returning those docs then they will resume the processing. They also returned their passports. I just don't know for how long this will may take. They went to NBI after the interview & also to the NSO Pasay and told them that my BC will be forwarded to the Embassy by tomorrow which is today..So still waiting here for a positive outcome..

  10. Hi! I hope someone will enlighten me with this matter. So my parents had their interview yesterday. The Q&A was done and the Consul asked my parents to secure my birth certificate from NSO for verification and new NBI clearance with aka for both of them. The Consul gave them a verification sheet and their passports and were instructed to return those docs to booth 37 and they will resume the processing. So they went to NSO and the lady there informed them that my BC will be forwarded to the embassy in a day. Now that's being taken cared of, how will they secure the NBI clearance with aka?how long for them to be able to get one? If ever they secure one and return it to the embassy, how long does it usually takes them to continue processing IR-5 cases? Thanks in advance!!

  11. hello there!.. our I-130 just got approved, and we're about to start the NVC process this January 2010.. i was just wondering do i still need to submit a police clearance to NVC (as an attachment to the DS230).. or will the NBI clearance be enough? (i have only lived in one place here in PI since birth..)

    btw, happy new year everyone!

    both. and originals of BC, MC if it applies..

  12. Hello there!

    I have a friend who had same case similar to yours....she had her interview Dec15 and was asked for AKA with her NBI. She already submitted the additional documents the next day until now she had not received the visa so I advise her to call USEM 02-3012000 press 7 then dial 5184# or 5185#. They told her that her case were reviewed Jan04-2010 and visa is ready for printing and it will take 7-10days to be delivered.At least you will have a clue if you will try to check with them.You can also track your visa at www.air21.com.ph website.

    God Bless!!! :)

    Hi! my parents went to their interview this morning and required them to get new NBI with aka. What were the requirements @ NBI to get this? And also they gave back their passports with some notes in there with verification sheet. How long will it take them to process it again? thanks!

    My parents will go for seminar 4 days before there departure.I will just make an online schedule for her while my father were no need

    to go because his already a senior citizen.If your refering to SD as SanDiego, then were in the same boat.my parents will be heading to

    Sandiego.Airline ticket going there is quite pricey.so my sister decided to go to LA(just a 2 hour ride from Sandiego) to fetch my parents

    at the airport in LA at the same time afterwards they can go sightseeing.might as well stay for the night in LA.

    @kokobearus:

    @mooninlove:

    Here's the address and phone no. of travel agency where i bought my parents ticket and some info.

    Where in Manila can they get their tickets then? My parents went to their interview this morning but unfortunately they require them to submit my original BC from NSO & a new NBI clearance. They went to NSO and they told them it takes a day for them to forward it to the embassy. So they will go to embassy later tomorrow with those requirements and the Consul mentioned that upon receipt, they'll continue the processing. those were the only requirements missing. So i'm wondering how long will it be..anybody?

  14. @yonkersvan:

    my parents live in olongapo city and I belive that bulacan is more nearer than gapo from manila,their passport with visa arrive after

    just two working days along with all the documents my sister submitted during processing.you can call AIR21 and ask about your parents

    documents but be sure you have the tracking number ready.The tracking number is a 12 digit number at the upper right of the receipt.

    hope it helps

    was their passports inside the brown envelope or along with the package that arrived? i'm just wondering if they are allowed to open it themselves to take out the passports..

  15. @kukubearus:

    When someone go for Sputum test at St.Lukes , it doesnt mean that they have TB. It might cause that the X-ray film result is a little too

    dark or light due to exposure or something.My parents went for Sputum test at St. Lukes because they said that they saw a scar on the lungs.

    with this result ,the interview for my parents in the USEM was delayed for 2 months ,fortuntely by the grace of god ,the result was negative

    and to be clear, we dont have any history of TB.My parents done their interview last december 21 and passed.They be bound to U.S this

    coming 22 january via Philippine Airlines Manila-LAX for just US$576 each All-in except travel tax which is 750pesos each.

    :innocent::dance:

    that's cheap for airline tickets. can u pm me about this matter? did your parents went to one of the seminars? my parents POE is MNL-LAX too coz we live by SD.

  16. To mooninlove, how many days did your parents wait to get the medical done? Is it still long waiting time? I remember that it took me 2 days to get it done even though I went there very early(6am). Thanks!

    mom and dad went to their medical on jan4-5. they're done by 10am jan5 after receiving the stamp on their interview notice, cd xray and immunization results. At that time they were there, it's just my parents getting the stamp from the guard while there's a long line for those who are required to undergo yet another test or something. My dad told me there's this woman who was required to check for sputum test & psychiatric test. thank God both of my parents are cleared and ready for their interview this monday..

  17. Thank you for this infos. I used it as a guide for my parents when they had their 2 day medical (Jan4-5). My mom informed me that on their 2nd day, they were given the CD xray result and immunization. They lined up early & told that the line for those who have to undergo for another test or something is longer than their line who passed the medical test. Their interview is set this Monday Jan11 @ 6:30am.

  18. @mooninlove:

    Why is there a need for seminar?my parents were both senior citizen(65&71).Do they need to go for seminars?

    Kindly enlighten me what this seminar for. :blink::unsure::unsure:

    I'm not sure if they're exempted if they're of senior age, but the seminar is required for emigrants/immigrants. It is usually a one day seminar then a sticker of CFO is placed onto the passport. Maybe someone knows better about this matter and reply to your question..

  19. Just want to let everyone know that my parents passed the interview just a few minutes ago.

    Thank you to everyone helped us during this process.

    :) :) :)

    Congratulations!! How was it? On my case,well my parents just wrapped up their 2 day medical at St.Lukes today and were given the cd xray results and immunization. They took their passports and now getting ready for their interview this Monday.

  20. Mooninlove, what was wrong with your mom's police clearance? How long is a police clearance valid for? Did you also send FBI clearance in addition to the police clearance?

    Thanks!

    There's nothing wrong with it but since I am resending her DS230 part1, I send along her original Police Clearance and NBI Clearance. I actually sent a scanned copy before the RFE but not really readable. They said her DS230 has "residence gap" which I didn't see, rather than arguing on the phone about it, I might as well resend it. I'm not sure how long the Police Clearance is valid for..

  21. My parents scheduled interview was 7:30am.The IO ask only few question to them,like what my sister(petitioner)do for a living,petitioner current address,

    and other country they(parents) visited/work before.thats it.

    They are schedule to travel to Los Angeles LAX on jan.24,2010.

    :dance::dance::dance:

    My parents POE (hopefully) will be LAX too but have not found any good deals on airline tickets. Did they do their seminar?? St.Marys is the closes to where they're staying so they'll do their seminar there..And if your parents had done their seminar, what did they bring with them?? Thanks!

  22. congratulations! do u know how many 2x2 photos they are to bring in their medical and interview? what else did they bring on their interview and are there other fees to pay? thanks!

    Thanks. Actually, the IO didnt ask for any 2x2 pictures during the interview at USEM because according to my mother, St. lukes ask the for two copies of 2x2 pictures.just ask your parents to briing at least 4 pcs.2x2 pictures during their medical exam.at the back of the pictures they must write their names

    on it.the other fees, the doctor requires my mother to have her psychology exam which is another 1000 pesos additional on top of the normal fees for medical.Might ask your parents to bring additional money just in case.

    hope it helps.

    Good Luck... :dance::dance:

    Thanks for the info. Do you know what q's they ask ur mom?? My parents are ready for their interview the next monday and are preparing to go to Maniula for their medical this week. I'm really praying everything will be ok. I've read from other forums that yes, some have gotten an interview notices for 6:30am interviews. Usually they let the disabled, kids or older to go first. Goodluck to all of us and congrats btw :)
