  1. Hi,

We are now applying for our K1, petition has been sent out and I'm preparing for the interview and the documents we are going to need.

Me and my boyfriend (he is the US citizen) have lived in Belgium for the last year and a half (before that we lived in the States).

He now moved back to NY to prepare for the wedding and the whole move. Since he has worked and lived in another country, his tax returns wont show much income for the last 1 or 2 years.

He will soon have a job in NY that should be above the poverty guideline. But just to be sure i want to get our savings up.

His US bank acount has not been very active lately as we had bank acounts in Belgium. How can i show that we have plenty of savings from working in Belgium.

I could transfer it to him but don't want them to think that we are trying to sceam. I will also be selling all my belongings here and putting most of my paycheck away.

My savings will go up quite a bit in a short amount of time. Should i explain this and show proof? Also is it better to transfer it to his US bank acount? As they probably prefere his savings above mine.

I hope someone can help me.

    Thanks in advance

    Marjolein
