I flew from Germany to the U.S. yesterday to spent 20 days with my fiance and to take care off some last wedding planning, today is not only our 2 year dating anniversary but also our 6 months engagement anniversary and we received mail:

    WE GOT APPROVED!

We got it in the mail today and it was shipped on the 8th - after 111 days we have our NOA2 and our journey can continue  Also, the status in the app and on the website hasnt changed so I guess many people should receive some surprises in the mail soon!

Hi. I'm a Feb filer but commenting on this forum as it seems to be more active. Just a question for some advice. What do you do if the app you met on has now closed down. Met my fiance through the social media app called Fling - Message the world, back in 2015. But it's closed down now due to people misusing it.
There's lots of websites saying the app got closed down. I'm just worried in case they ask for more info on the app we met as they seem to have for other people.
PS. I'm a huge worrier and drive myself insane with worry sometimes lol.

As people has already stated, you don't need translations for the Embassy interview, because they accept documents in the country language.

That being said, think ahead. You are not in a rush to get it for the interview, but sure you'll need your birth certificate translated to use it later in the US (i.e. AOS).

I was told by our lawyer that if your documents are in the language of the country (In your case German Documents in Germany) then translations are not necessary because COs speak both English and the native language.

Thank you so much! You just put my thought into words! I will have my fiance call them as well. First, we werent sure if he should but now I am convinced that sharing our side of the story is important.
Based on what reason did you file for expediting your case as my fiance and I received our NOA1 just a couple of days before you guys?

I am typically the person that likes to draw lines in the sand as it were in situations like this.  My first line was past this Monday when we did not receive an Approval. My reaction to that line being crossed was that I contacted my local Congresswoman and initiated a congressional inquiry, with multiple reasons to back it up.

Seeing them not even make progress in Approvals for multiple days was salt on the wound of already experiencing far lower service then people from 2016 that paid significantly lower fees. This was line #2. My reaction to this line being crossed was I called up USCIS today and gave them a piece of my mind (in a nice way but more like an intellectual bully kind of way) at the same time I requested an expedite. I also made sure that they were aware that I am aware (and have hard evidence) the "current processing dates" (Nov 2016) they give out are lies.

Eventually.... somewhere down the road..... a line exists that has a reaction of me cancelling said petition... and instead moving to live with my Fiancee...

With that said.... I have been pretty much following the situation on this site, since they were doing October filers. I don't remember a single day until this week where there has been 0 approvals. I would normally say maybe just a problem with their system/ whoever is assigned to manually enter case statuses as it seems Approvals are manually updated in the system that shows case status. However, I would certainly have expected such an issue be solved by now.

    Ok everybody!
I may or may not have found a clue for answers regarding the process CSC did this week already. I checked the news in the app and some offices were closed down yesterday and for today they posted this:

Lets all hope that maybe some major progress will be done tonight and we can all get up tomorrow morning/during the day and see a ton of cases being approved   I got my fingers crossed for all of us!

If we get approved today (well, tomorrow morning, UK time) I will get our case number tattooed on my leg. I'm at breaking point, and I'm tempting fate.

What would be interesting to see is average amount of touched cases per day of the week.

While I was waiting for my NOA2 I had an observation that I kept to myself because I wasn't confident it was correct.  That observation was that Monday and Tuesday were RFE concentrated days and Wednesday thru Friday were new Approval concentrated days.

I might still be wrong.  But if anyone has any free time on their hands.  Maybe do a break down of the last 30 days and filter it per day of the week.  How many Approvals vs RFE's per day of the week?

My gut feeling tells me starting today thru Friday productivity will pick up.

And I can't wait for @RJandHamid to get approval after their ridiculously long wait.  Lots late January and now even February filers with frustration but damn, RJ is still a December filer waiting.  So I hope it comes soon RJ!

No you can't unfortunately or everyone would do it I'm sure.  It would create extra work for the government and you know that's not going to happen
The Service Center to NVC does take some time.
But the NVC to the Embassy is fast.  3 days in most cases.

I have my own theory about what happened yesterday, and seeing the lack of activity for December and January, along with the fact my phone app kept getting notifications for travel alerts, form updates and visa bulletins, but nothing more productive than that, I came to think it might be related with the fact it was first day of the month.

Yeah, well... too many free time to come up with theories  Good luck, January fillers. These next two weeks HAVE TO be your time.

I don't think anyone is asking that the cases be processed in perfect order, but I don't think it is unreasonable for the November cases to be completed before moving onto January/February. Almost no outstanding (there are still around 80 or untouched Nov cases) are being touched, as they do about 1 November case a day on average. If we at least saw some movement on those cases, I would be a lot less frustrated.

    Good morning all!

Another week starts today!  No more long, unproductive, useless weekend feelings until 5 consecutive days of approvals and RFE's arrive first!  It should be a good week for a lot of you.  I can feel it.

I just got back from my trip to Colombia to see my fiance.  It turned out to be a perfectly planned trip as we got our NOA2 last week and celebrated together.  She was in much better spirits and we both now can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel.

I've noticed a lot of emotions building up in a lot of you and wanted to share my quick advice/experience.  The weeks leading up to my NOA2 I was beginning to become a mess.  I waited 109 days and past the estimated time by two weeks. The wait and the checking and the tracking was interfering with my daily life, my work, my happiness.  It is easy to blame the USCIS and get upset over their methods, but in reality we are nothing but 1 small stack of papers among thousands and thousands of stacks of papers.

It wasn't till after I got my NOA2 approval that I realized that all my pain and suffering leading up to the NOA2 was not a product of the USCIS, but instead a self inflicted pain and misery.  I was doing it to myself.  We like to think our petition is the most important one.  The only one that matters to us.  Why is MY petition taking this long?  What did I do wrong?  Why are they skipping MINE?  When will I be approved?  But as I said, each one of us is 1 among thousands being processed.  And given the unconventional approval system, it is like a lottery of sorts.  But in our lottery, we are nearly guaranteed to be a winner as it is really hard to be rejected at this stage of the process.  You would know if you would be rejected and never would have submitted the petition in the first place.  Everyone here will receive approval, or RFE then approval.

The best things in life are worth waiting for.
Never give up on a dream just because of the time it takes to achieve it.

It's like torture being away from the one you love.  But a few months will be minuscule when compared to the lifetime of happiness that follows.  And I think we all can sacrifice a few months for a lifetime of happiness.

And for those of you with faith, let me add my favorite words of wisdom that has gotten me thru many situations in my life.  "God has perfect timing.  Never too early, never too late.  When it happens, it will be the exact right time, and it will be perfect."

Good luck to everyone this week!!!!
