I do wonder how NVC operate. We got our NOA2 on May 10th and they still haven't received our case yet....calling gets us nowhere but the standard 60 day response. Frustrating to say the least!

Your timeline show that Embassy already received your case. Weird but anyway.....We have received our NOA2 on May5, NVC received our case and still dont have our number....everytime we call NVC a different agent picks up the call and provide an different answer.

    That is so frustrating.

I have to say your boyfriend is smart.  Entering the US with the intent to marry on a visitors visa is visa FRAUD.  You could be banned up to 10 years if you were caught.  Good luck, follow the guides and God Bless

Anyone else waiting a long time for their case to be received by the NVC? We received our NOA2 on May 5th, but NVC still doesn't have it and it's been almost 5 weeks now. I know they say 6 weeks when you call the NVC, but I'm just wondering if other people are waiting this long also.  Thanks!

She wont be allowed on esta. No matter what you do, if she leaves US without AP or green card she will not be able to immigrate back unless you apply for a spouse visa.

You kind of overcomplicated this. Simply do not leave Australia until you are both ready to permanent live in the USA.

I rush to the mailbox first thing when I get home only to be disappointed every time... tomorrow will be exactly 4 months since my NOA1.

In positive news, today I bought a necklace and earrings for our wedding! My veil arrived last week, ordered through Etsy. I now have everything I need to be the bride!

So we all noticed that the USCIS case tracker is not working properly the last few weeks...

We received the NOA2 in the mail but the online case status is still on received.

I'm just wondering if the approved cases will eventually also change to approved on the USCIS website or if they will be stuck on "received" since USCIS forwarded the cases to NVC?

Thank you!! I figured the "worst" that will happen if I wait a week to call back is that I will already have a case number and maybe it will already be on its way to the embassy.  No point to call everyday!

5/19 NOA2, just called NVC and they haven't received it yet (I wasn't really expecting it to be there, especially with the holiday, but I know everyone says start trying at 2 weeks).  I will call again next Friday.

Yes! You got it friend! It's very hard to be at such a distance to someone you love very much but soon you will look back and think it wasn't even that big of a deal 😅. I would check back daily or every other day and ask about your case. You will know when they assign your case number because they will start asking more questions than normal (your name, fiance's name, their birthdate and so on) . These are for security reasons to release the case number to you, at least this is what I have found in my own personal experience. Find things to keep yourself occupied and start getting your stuff ready for interview and medical, also don't forget your affidavits of support and so on. You'll have a case number anytime now Friend!

Hi Friend! I read somewhere that the NVC receives batch shiped cases from USCIS, so this could possibly be why coupled with the fact that they are a little backed up. They probably have already received your case, it may just be in the mail room or not scanned in yet. Have no fears! Just call every night until they assign a case number which I'm sure they will anytime. And yes, this process brings out the anxious beings in all of us, but just remember the longest part for most of us is finished after the NOA2. 😀

NVC is taking a longer time than what I am expecting. When I call this afternoon, I am being told it is taking 8 weeks to process.
My NOA2 approval date is 5/15 and I decided to call back end of next week.

Awesome, thank you. This gives me hope. I feared that they might have lost our case or somerhing. 😱

Though, I hope that they won't take 8 weeks to scan and assign the case number. I will just try and call them every other day and hope I will soon get a "yes, we received it. Your NVC case number is .....".

I really thought that we will be less stressed after we got approved, but I guess we still have a long way to go. We all are in the same boat, no matter if we already got approved or still waiting for the NOA2...we all are stressed, anxious and impatiently waiting to be reunited with our loved ones. 😍

    Hey everyone,

I'm a May filer here, and I was just peeking through your the other filing forums, and I must say...YOU GUYS ARE VERY SUPPORTIVE AND HAVE PUT A SMILE ON MY FACE!!!

The pictures and the words of encouragement and support is awesome!!!! To those that are having disagreements/arguments, remember truly where the negativity is coming from which is the not from you and fiancé. IMHO, I believe that most of this process is structured to try and "break" the relationships that have no foundation or are truly not real relationships. Realistically, from the time that an adjudicator reviews the actual petition and approves it, it takes at least 15-20 minutes TOPS, to approve or deny it. Understandably, VJ members are not the only ones that have filed a petition to be with their love ones, but, I really believe that this process is to test the will of a real, true and long-lasting relationship.

The disagreements come only because of the stress, loneliness, at times, desperation, and THE DISTANCE that we have from other partners. Trust me...my fiancé and I just had our first disagreement recently and it was SOOOOOO PETTY, but when we sat back and talked about it, we realized that we're just so ready to spend the rest of our lives together and the thought of having a legal process stand in the way of what we have is EXTREMELY frustrating. And it doesn't help that life's obstacles and challenges still occur while we wait for that day to come to hear...YOU'RE APPROVED!!!!

I know that my fiancé and I have a long way to go, but I look at the calendar and say, June is just 2 days away, and after that is July and then August is when, hopefully, USCIS will start to review and get our approvals out. So guys, try your best to hold out a little longer, because you're almost there. You've made it this far, and right now, don't let USCIS come between what you and your fiancé have and are trying to build. I know it's easier said than done and there will be some that read this and say what I just typed will sounds like blah, blah, blah....lol. But as long as you and your fiancé stand side by side in this process, this long wait will be a vivid memory a year or so from now.

My bad for peeking in your forum!!! Good luck to everyone on your journey!!!!

This crazy process is starting to eat my head literally. I'm so frustrated, angry and anxious. I'm so intense and I feel so bad because I keep asking my fiance if he checked mail and I'm starting to get furiated at little things. 😭😭😩😩 It's terrible.

Then, there's this long weekend so I have to wait till Wednesday my time to wait till I hear about any mail.

This is some kind of torture.

Apart from all that, I'm really happy to see that people are moving forward. I'm happy to see others getting approvals. I know the pain and I know the joy. I feel for you. I'm beyond happy for you to pass at least one stage of this terrible waiting. I'll continue to pray for everyone.

    Love xxx

and if you are much older to him especially - please keep in mind the stories of women frauded and the higher statistics of fraud by men from certain countries.

in real life, why is it that couples that a decent amount of time to decide and men especially want to wait on marriage - but when it comes to immigration to a Western country people decide before they meet...

Not judging and not in a place to do so - I knew deep down my husband and I would marry before we met...after the first meeting it was set in stone even for him... in the end we did meet 6-7 times before we thought getting married would be cheaper

of course we hadn't researched immigration enough and getting married meant longer timelines and another 10 or so trips - All these trip were between 14- 32 hour flights/flight connections each way!!

marriage is a huge decision meet and spend time for a bit before jumping in...

    Hey there...
USCIS reveived our petition on February 8. However, we got the notification on February 13 and the hardcopy a few days later. My finacé found our NOA2 in the mailbox on May 15, but the approval date was May 11. Still, the USCIS website states that our case has been received and that there haven't been any updates since February 15. I guess they have some severe problems with the servers but as a positive aspect: they process files nevertheless....and they're also working on some February files. 👍🏻

I'm sorry to hear that you haven't received your NOA2 yet. 😔 I hope you all will get yours very very very soon. I'm still every day on VJ to check the status for us February filers. Thinking of you....Stay strong!

This type of posts always break my heart.
Immigration is an exhausting, long, expensive and emotionally draining process for people who aren't dealing with anxiety, depression and/or health issues. I can't imagine what it would be like if you add that to the mix. I can see why many would try to speed up the process or even find legal loopholes to be with their loved ones sooner. We all wish this was an easier, faster process but it is not the case. I hope OP gets the help needed.
