See part 3 of the link you quoted.  3.  Impartial and Unbiased Individual

Do you really think a spouse can be impartial and unbiased as an interpreter?  It's also up to the interviewer if they are willing to accept a family member as an interpreter.

Does the RFE correlate to anything with interpretation?

Having your wife as your interpreter creates a conflict of interest because you can be told in your language how to respond to the questions without the interviewer knowing what was said to you.  If you felt you needed an interpreter for the interview, you should have gotten someone other than your wife.

Holt got a reaction from diegoBI in N400 cancelled and rescheduled for a SATURDAY
In the past, some applicants already asked for this questions. They went to the appointment and USCIS opened.
Generally, USCIS will be closed on weekends, but if the appointment indicates you need to present on Saturday, then you must go.
Simply call your USCIS Office and to clarify.

Holt reacted to ptm897 in What Happens at 2nd Naturalization Interview?
Hello, I interviewed N-400 applications for 10 years in our USCIS office, the 2nd interview will only to be going over what part was not passed on the first interview.
So if that officer indicated that the "speaking/understanding" English part was the reason, then the day of the 2nd interview, which will NOT be with that same officer, we are not allowed to do the 2nd interview if we did the first interview, so let me assure you that Mr. Singh will not be allowed to interview your husband again, there will not be a re-exam of the history/civics questions and he will not be required to read or write the sentence in English, chances are the officer will just go over the application itself, that is how we determine someone's ability to speak and understand English, and if Officer Singh noted the questions in which he felt your husband didn't understand those questions will be circled in red and the 2nd interviewing officer will go over those with your husband.
We have an Officer in our office that also has a very very heavy thick accent, he is from Pakistan and we have had several complaints in the past about applicant's not being able to understand him and I totally understand why, so please tell your husband that for this second interview if the next officer is also hard to understand and he is then told he didn't pass then please tell him that he has a right to ask to speak to a supervisor after the interview is over.
I'm sorry he had this experience with that officer.
When I was interviewing N-400's if I got a case that day for re-exam where the previous officer said the person did not pass the "speaking and understanding" English portion I would simply go over the N-400 with them and focus on the areas that were marked in red. Sometimes it's just the questions and not any of the biographic data, and believe me I have interviewed several people the second time that were said to have not passed the "speaking and understanding" English part and when those people came in front of me, their English was just fine and I had no problems speaking with them, and passed them immediately. There are officers out there that are not very nice and if they are crabby that day they will flunk someone when they get frustrated with them, and there is a reason why the policy is set that the same officer cannot interview that person a second time if they don't pass a portion of the interview the first time.
Before our interviews start on re-exam day we have to go through our bundle and look for any cases that we previously interviewed the first time around and if we have any of them in our bundle we have to exchange them with other officers.
I hope this info has been helpful for you!!! Please tell your husband to try and not worry too much,

I think getting a B2 (visitor visa for your parents) is hard when there is an immediate relative is living in the state, but it is possible.
You can't petition them to live in US because you are not an USC, only USC has this right as bringing them with an IR5 visa.

You can always bring your new baby back to visit them as it is easier.

Where are you now? Have you gone through Port of Entry yet? Since you have an immigrant visa, you already paid for everything in NVC stage, so after you arrived to US, register the address with IO, then the cards will be mailed to that address.

    Sorry everyone, I am confused.

Not really. I made over 40 trips but sent a lot less than that. Passport stamps and a few photos from each trip should suffice. Every time I read of your case I think there must be more to it.

The OP is confused about why the 101 days is added. It is supposed to be added because the IO will ask you after you file, do you leave the US ?
I still can’t believe why people can leave the state while N400 is pending.
Spending 1.5 years out of 3 years in the state is hard, then why obtain citizenship? I guess it is more convenient to live outside the state after becoming USC...

    -F1: 22 January 2011

I suggest your mom informs NVC to upgrade your petition as soon as possible because the progress takes sometimes.
You probably have to wait 1-2 years more then you date will become Current.

My mom and my sister had the same case with you.
My mom (as a LRP) petitioned for my sister in 2008 when she was 20.5 years old. She was F2A but got a letter informed to move to F2B because she turned 21.

She got her interview in 2015 but during that time, F2B date was moving faster than F1. So my mom decided not to naturalize.

It took her more than 7 years to get the interview. (I guess her interview letter arrived not so long after I submitted the AOS)

But in your case, based on Visa Bulletin 11/17, F1 moves faster than F2B. You mother needs to inform NVC that she is now an USC and your case, which is current F2B will be "upgraded" to F1.
