Duncan21 got a reaction from mikojesz in August 2022 - I130 filers
Very nice - congratulations! Similarly,
October 13, 2023 - Submitted all documents to NVC via CEAC
October 29, 2023 - Submitted additional documents
November 7, 2023 - DQ
Now just awaiting interview date. I was wondering how backlogged NVC is post-DQ and awaiting interview dates so this gives me some hope. The category for us is IR5 (parents of US citizens).

Congratulations!!! It took us 3 weeks to get ours by email, this might also depend on the consulate. I hope you get your interview date soon!!

Hey everyone,
Here are some updates from our case:
September 29th, 2023 : We submitted all of our documents to NVC through CEAC.
October 6th, 2023 : We ended up having to resubmit one and we resubmitted it on this date.
October 16th, 2023 : We got DQ!!
November 6th, 2023 : Received our Interview Date by email!
Does anyone know if they also mail out a letter before the interview or if we need to print out the email that we received and bring it to the interview?

Received NVC Welcome Letter this morning. It took 4 days since USCIS Approved the petition. Fees were paid, waiting for the next process.

We got an email on Friday the 14th saying that our case was being actively reviewed by USCIS
On the 17th USCIS approved our case
On the 20th NVC has received our case and emailed us!
To anyone out there doubting - we also had all the "taking longer than expected" and thinking it would take until September but it suddenly all moved so fast!

Don't be. My case status said the same for a few months. The only time it changed, was a few days after the document of approval appeared in the document section. At that point the processing time section completely disappeared. Long story short, don't believe the processing time, it's a waste of energy and will mess with your emotions.

thanks . that basically confirms that uscis is going based on when the case is being " actively being reviewed" and not when you submit . this whole time I was thinking that I was with the July applications but since my receipt matches yours I suppose im in august.
I applied July 15th 2022. I received my NOA1 august 14th 2022. so yours and my receipt both start with IOE-98
currently on https://www.casestatusext.com/approvals/I-130/IOE-LB the cases getting approved for June are IOE-09

Hi All!
Pinching myself to make sure I am not dreaming, but pleased to say we have been approved on 06/24/23. Notice came from Potomac as expected. Case status still shows actively reviewed since 08/04/22, with the approval notice found in the document tab.
We wish everyone a speedy approval!

Duncan21 reacted to itsbart in N-400 Newark/Mt Laurel New Jersey
Just completed interview at Newark (14th june).
My interview time was scheduled at 9:30 but there was a long line. Actual interview took place at 1:15.
I counted 3 oaths - one in the morning, one around 1:30 (right after my interview) and 3:30.
I had to wait until 3:30 - they weren't able to print out my certificate quick enough after the interview to get 1:30.
Overall glad I could complete everything same day even though the wait time took around 6hrs.

Newark is one of the USCIS locations that does same day Oath ceremonies....when we had our interview, there were several oath ceremonies throughout the day.

Apparently, the new USCIS process is to make the cards, then approve the case lollll
May 19 - Status updates to “New Card is Being Produced”
May 22 - Case Was Approved

Update: 3 years and 7 months later, my husband’s green card is finally being produced, 2 days after they received my updated packet per their RFE request.
I’m almost afraid to breathe…

Duncan21 reacted to Scandi in N-400 Name change during interview
Because it's so simple, easy and for free when you do it during the N-400 process. At several field offices you don't need to wait any extra time for an oath ceremony when you have a name change, I personally only waited 4 business days (had interview on a Thursday, the field office's next oath was the following Tuesday). We are many who had name changes without having to go through a judicial ceremony, we just had a regular ceremony at the local field office and it took 10 minutes.
Had I waited to have my name changed until afterwards, I would've had to go through court myself and pay for it, and I have no idea how long that process would've been. Instead, now USCIS did the work for me and for free. Super easy, super smooth, no extra work on my part other than filling out my new name on the form.
EDIT, I looked up what a name change AFTER the naturalization would've been like for me:
"You pay a $435-$450 filing fee. If you can’t afford the fee, you can ask the court to waive it. The clerk will give you a date when a judge will make a decision.
A judge will make a decision in about 2 to 3 months after you complete a few more steps."
So, pretty much super expensive, more work AND would've taken A LOT longer than the 4 days I had to wait.

Hi everyone!
I thought to check my case status today and it updated April 3rd to say "My new card is being produced". We haven't had an interview so I was very surprised but super happy to see it! I was pending to apply for n400 but this came before I had the chance to do it. I hope more people get their interview skipped and get their cards soon .
I-751 filed Oct 2021.
