You’ll be fine. My passport is still under my maiden name and my green card in my married name. I haven’t renewed it yet since I got married since it is still valid up to 2020. Like cyberfx1024 mentioned above, make sure your ticket matches the details in your passport and keep your marriage certificate handy.  I have been back and forth to the Philippines multiple times already with no problem. But when I traveled to Europe, I have been asked at the airports in Germany and Greece to show my marriage certificate and everything went well.

Hey this is a VERY COMMON question here on VJ. You need to make sure that you have the airline tickets in the name that is in your passport and not the greencard name. Also make sure to bring your marriage license with you just in case. Otherwise there is no problems flying into or out of the country that way at all.

Edit.... I just saw your from the Philippines. So make sure YOU BRING YOUR MARRIAGE LICENSE and SUBMIT IT TO IMMIGRATION when you get to immigration desk in the Philippines. Have you done CFO yet? Because they might not let you leave the Philippines without doing CFO.

    Hello fellow feb filers!
sorry was not able to check on you guys, was busy at work and preparing for our interview.

We just got our interview last 15 aug and we got approved.

The officer was nice but strict i guess he was an ex military.

He didn’t ask much questions and evidence as well because me and my spouse have known each other since 2003.

    Let me share our experience:

Interview appointment was at 12:45 we arrived in at the USCIS San Diego Field office at 12:15.
We were called at around 1:15pm and th officer who was assigned to our case said that he saw that we checked in early as he saw it as he was going to lunch.
He was nice but you can say he is a bit strict, at first he asked us to state that we will only tell the truth and nothing but the truth. then he asked us to sit.
We brought a backpack of our evidence, wedding photos, photos from our trips, additional documents bank statements, subscriptions with our names on it and mails that shows that we are on the same mailing address.

He took a photo of me and fingerprints he said its a new protocol for them as an evidence that its the same person who filed and who came in the interview.

he opened our file and started to ask question
    Husbands date of birth
    my date of birth
    wedding date
    date of our engagement

then he verify our address bec he said that he needs to update it correctly.

then started asking question from the i485 form
    criminal activities etc....

he asked me if i did travel using my AP

and if i was able to keep my job.

He showed a photo of me and my husband family and asked me to identify them.

And then he said, he will approve my case as there should be no questions to be asked about the legitimacy of our relationship since we’ve been together since 2004.

He said that he was happy with he evidences that we have and asked us if we want to add more for our file, i gave him the mails and docs as both of us are thr emergency contact of each other, joint bank acct and cellphone bill.

he gave us the paper and advised us that i can apply for citizenship after 3 years. and he asked us to sign it. and my greencard should be mailed in 10days

so that is our experience, hope that everyone will have a positive interview as ours.

So I’ll be seeing you guys after 2 years then. 🙂

My wife has her combo card and we received her NOA for her AOS inter for Aug 13.  Now it’s time to start organizing all of the documents. I plan on having two 3 ring binders of duplicate documents. One to hand to the interviewing officer and one for us. Each will have the exact documents to refer to. Is there anything other than what they’re requesting that I should include?
i have not added her to my mortgage due to refi fees etc, but she is on the HOA bill.
We have joint banking accounts, medical insurance through my work and she is on My life insurance and listed as a beneficiary on all of my investments.
Also we are expecting so I’ll include Info pertaining to that as well.  I’ll include photos and fB posts too. Anything else anyone thinks I’m over looking.

When did you get married?  Had you already filed your 2017 taxes when you sent in you AOS?  I would say, bring a copy of the I-864 and have a copy of your 2017 Taxes as well, they may not want it, but always better to be prepared.  If you have a copy of the I-485 packet that you sent, bring that along.  Bring all evidence that you have a real marriage.  Any joint accounts, insurance, utility bills in both names.  And as always, pictures.  Pictures with family and friends.  Pictures of the wedding/reception.  Important to be relaxed.

We received my wife’s EAD/AP combo card yesterday 7/9/2018. Adjust from a K1. Today we got the text notification the interview is scheduled and the letter will be sent with the date of the interview.
    This is awesome news.
It does pose a question. My wife is flying out this Friday to visit with family as she is currently pregnant so now is about the only time she can go before she is too far along to travel. If the initial date is while she is gone can we reschedule the interview and if so how? And does this negatively impact our interview?

I just received the mail for my I485 interview and it is scheduled for 15 Aug.
For those who already did the interview is it really stating as initial interview?
And I’m kinda worried about the documents to prove our relationship, we only have the one for insurance and telecom bill and a lot of pictures.

USCIS status checker was updated to say an interview was scheduled on 7/6/18
I received "We are still reviewing your case and there are no updates at this time. We will notify you when your case status changes.  We last took action on your case on June 25, 2018.""
It is confusing that I received that generic email about "no new updates and we are still processing your application".  Even more confusing is that DHS site says nothing about an interview and have not even received EAD/AP!
I guess if you receive an "no new updates and we are still processing your application" then check if there are any new updates to your application.
Looks like the February filers are receiving there interviews about now.
Good luck to those still waiting for their interview.
