There really is no certainty to your question. The best thing to do is schedule your appointment before the slots run out, and keep checking back to see if someone has cancelled on an earlier date, but keep in mind you could only reschedule once.

While waiting for your documents to arrive try getting the CFO seminar and medical out of the way for smooth sailing.

    Goodluck! 😊

Actually there is for Manila.  This is from USTravelDocs:

" Please be reminded that even though nonimmigrant visa fees are valid for one calendar year, options to schedule an appointment are limited. The U.S. Embassy in Manila schedules hundreds of thousands of nonimmigrant visa appointments each year and must accommodate requests both for new appointments and for those applicants who need to reschedule their appointments for whatever reason. Applicants are only allowed to reschedule twice (not including the initial appointment) without penalty. If the second rescheduling attempt is canceled, an applicant will only be allowed to reschedule a new date after a waiting period of 90 days. Please plan your visa application accordingly to avoid problems securing an interview appointment. "

Basically two gimmes, then you start to have issues.

    My visajorney friends !
I wish everyone happiness, for those who are waiting for NOA2 - approval soon, who has RFE - to get the answer faster, for those who are waiting for the NVC  case number - to find out it, who is waiting for the interview - sooner and successfully, it is easy to pass it! I wish all of us to join with our second half !
I want to give you all a wonderful symbol of hope, love and faith - Assol, who waited for her Gray !
By the novel of Russian writer Alexander Greene  " Scarlet Sails ": the girl Assol lived with her father in a poor fishing village. ...her father made models of ships, and Assol sold them on the market ... once 8 years old Assol went to the market ,  she lowered into the creek a small model of a yacht under scarlet silk sails, which she liked very much, the water carried off the ship, and Assol ran, after while she saw the old stranger who was holding her yacht: he held it out with the words: when you grow up, the same beautiful ship will sail for you under the same silk scarlet sails !!!

many years she waited the day when her beloved sails for her  under the big scarlet sails ... people laughed at her and her father... one day when the grown up Assol stood at her place and peered at the horizon........- the scarlet sails appeared far away...and... they were approaching !!!

By the way, as long as you havent used that Ds160 to schedule an interview, you can submit another Ds160 and use that one's code to schedule your interview and completely forget about the submitted one. (as long as you havent already used it to pay for and schedule your interview)

Try tracking it using your case number:  https://ceac.state.gov/ceacstattracker/status.aspx
USEM received our case one week after we got our case number from NVC, but until now the embassy hasn't sent anything to my F.

She handed her resignation letter last week. We put: Not Employed.

We tried for the third time creating a new application for the DS160. We answered everything like the previous ones, but this time we didn't add her secondary education and it now shows the educational background. I don't know if that was the case, but it worked!

For those who still have to do their medical, and are in the Philippines...

I mistakenly thought the medical would be done at the nice St. Lukes in Mandaluyong, and maybe it would be a 1 hour thing. Not even close. It's at a St. Luke's extension near Rizal Park in Ermita, downtown Manila. My fiance went yesterday and it was insanely crowded with people waiting for visa checkups. Arrived 7am, didn't get out of there until dinner time.

And apparently the US is very strict about any chest x-rays that show even a tiny blotch on the lungs, due to concerns about TB. They said it's very common for people to get held back due to just a tiny blotch unrelated to TB. And it basically means a two month delay while you do tests and a re-check. Unfortunately that's what happened to us. All else was fine, so as long as it's not TB the visa will happen. But now not until maybe December. So close and still so far.

So hang in there folks. And try not to think about the folks who get into the US illegally without any of this nonsense, and without many months of waiting. It's the folks who do it legally who get the pain. Go figure.

You never really know what somebody else is going through. Let us all come together and share love and kindness to each other.

Is it me or our house is getting more quiet lately? Of course weekends have an effect on that, but it's Monday again
I guess people are busy moving on with the process and taking care of things. And the ones still waiting, 5-6 months after filling, are probably not in the best mood to see others progressing.

So let's hope for a good week around here. Good luck to the ones that are having the medical this week, like @Salty2305 or their interviews, like @AnJ Co (have a great trip tonight... or tomorrow, not sure about the time), @krizia and @Y&P. Hope lots of you get your NVC# and cases moving to the Embassy, and even more NOA2'S, because... About time!

    Fingers crossed

So, everything is in motion! My last post wasn't the happiest, but I've never felt so happy, at least nothing like this! He's on the flight right now from SYD to LAX. He get's there around 6am PST, and I'm EST so that will be around 9am my time. They are a bit early and will land by about 15-30 minutes before the time they were supposed to. Hoping a smooth POE, I'm nervous... I haven't seen him since December 2016. I can't believe this is happening! I will be back with more details. I can't wait to speak with you guys, it's been a while. I've mostly just been posting updates for you guys. I've been trying to clean and make everything perfect, figure out a nice outfit, and last minute stuff. School, wow, if I would have known how stressful and how busy I would have been I would have considered only enrolling in one class instead of two a term. I've been so busy the last 16 hours, and haven't gotten much sleep these days. I hope everything is going smoothly for you guys, and I'm excited for you all, this experience has been intense emotionally for me.

I will let you all know how his POE went.

Oh, and I still have to post his experience with the embassy. I want to let everyone know how that went. They were shocked by how many papers he had, and he said they were very nice, seemed to joke around/were laid back with him, and it seems he made a pretty good impression right from the beginning. He said the lady he had denied a few people while he was there, so it just feels super good to know we did things right, from the looks of it. I also want to give hope to those to not be scared if they have any issues issues, for example, the ESTA that he traveled on last year should have been an inauthorization from getting denied a visitor visa in the past, but on the ESTA form it was incorrectly selected that he wasn't. He was denied Nov 2015, and ESTA was done in Sep 2016. He also applied again without attending the interviews twice (long story) a month after the denial and again in Aug 2016. I have to say our relationship wasn't easy with some stuff, but we have managed to get through this whole thing. This process was made to make everything hard on us, and see how we react. We all have to be a team, but that's how a true marriage is supposed to be. It's not going to always be pretty, either.  Anyways, now I am preaching. They know about the error since we stated it on the DS-160 and he had a paper to explain the situation, and didn't even ask him at the interview about it. So heads up to those that are scared not to stress yourselves. I did, and people said we would have to do a waiver. Of course, I asked many attorneys who seemed to know we would as well. I guess I'm saying, just see things neutrally and appreciate the advice at the same time so you know how to prepare. I know I let it get to me, and was paranoid throughout this whole thing. As long as your country isn't high fraud, they won't be too hard with you if you're honest with them. The consular officer almost laughed because the bank statements from the lady at the bank misunderstood and gave me for both my co-sponsor and myself a whole stack (like a book) of our transactions, and included a paper with the other information. So I just sent it to him and they didn't have a problem with 7 pounds of documents (I know, I went overboard. Lol) but all went well. She seemed to tell him to remember when POE ask him what he's in America for, to tell them he is getting married because that was a question he was asked and she mentioned that he gave the right response, when many people that day didn't. So, overall, be honest and good luck to those who are going to interviews soon, congrats on recent approvals, and if you are still waiting for the NOA2, it's coming soon. I'm sure most would have gotten it by now, hopefully.

    I will be back soon.

P.S. I noticed how much I type, haha! Since being on VJ it has grown more and time. Maybe I should write some books on my chronicals through this process.

No one likes needles. I'm going in for annual flu shot later this week.
Having said that I would recommend they get as many vaccines from US Embassy affiliated medical center (St. Lukes for Philippines)
As when you apply for AOS they will need to have a medical with vaccines done here in America.

    https://www.uscis.gov/news/questions-and-answers/vaccination-requirements

If you don't have proof of vaccines from St.Lukes then the Civil Surgeon will charge you A LOT between $300 to $700 in some cases.
The shots at St. Lukes are all pre-paid with the set medical fee even if you get zero shots or five.

not really a bummer, it is just enough time to get those prerequisites out of the way.  tick tock, time is ticking away, don't waste it.  While waiting on the NVC number, you need to get your NBI and CENOMAR in hand.  Before these, you need a Birth Certificate from PSA.  After these three are accomplished (don't forget to get one for every AKA name, also) - Get CFO scheduled and attend.  They want a BOATLOAD of documents all about YOU so be prepared to send a lot of personal info to your F so she can attend the seminar.  Try to get these all done BEFORE NVC number arrives.  When you get NVC number, get online and get the DS 160 submitted.  Print a payment coupon and pay at the bank.  4 to 24 hours later, you can scheduloe an interview.  All the while, any free time your F has, be printing documentation on ongoing relationship.   If Embassy appt is scheduled, do you have a hotel for her to stay at?  Probably should get that arranged the same time you are scheduling a hotel for the medical.

Casa Bocobo is a 3 minute walk from SLEC

Sunny Bay Suites is 5 minute walk from the Embassy

If find yourself doing nothing, then start reviewing what you have done, and look for some step you can get done that you are missing.  Waiting on the NVC number is actually a nice break, use the time wisely to get the fastest POE.

    Best of luck to you!

To take the medical exam, they need a screenshot or an email printed on paper.  This allows you to have the medical exam.
More and more people are reporting that they will NOT release the medical exam records to you without a copy of the NVC hard copy mailed to the Petitioner.  Scan this letter and send to your beneficiary, as soon as you get the letter from NVC.

I didn't show my Filipino passport because the U.S doesn't recognize dual citizenship. Just sent copies of all pages of my US Passport and Birth Cert.

Since you are a dual citizen, you will also need to provide a CENOMAR when your fiance goes to the interview.
