    I94 shows entry data, not necessarily where you visited while abroad

    Oh so that's what they're looking for, understood.

    Do you have any suggestions? Everyone of my international trips have been to either Ireland or the United Kingdom, so I would assume I can probably get entry records. I did a quick Google search and it appears that the UK allows you to get an entry / exit record for the last five years.

  2. Hi all

    So my conditional green card expires in June of this year, and I'm anticipating filing for Removal of Conditions in the coming months - however a small issue that I've read about - I had to renew my British passport which I sent off a little while ago, which has not arrived in the UK as of yet - it's a possibility that it may turn up yet but as each day passes I'm getting a little more nervous that it's been lost in the post somewhere. I read that when filing for N-400, which isn't a million miles away for me, the immigration officers request bringing old passports that have the stamps of every entry since becoming a permanent resident. If my passport has been lost in the post, what can I do about this? Fortunately I still have the details of the passport including the passport number so I'm able to pull up my I-94 records which show the same thing - will this suffice?

    Thanks!

  3. Hey all

    So I got my Green Card a couple of months ago and am going to the DMV this coming week to renew my drivers license - which expires on the 11th September. I've done a little bit of research and it seems that I was supposed to receive a couple of things in the mail, a camera card and an invitation to renew. I never received either of these things, so what is the process for getting my license renewed? Do I just go to the DMV with my green card, a check for $35 and say I want to renew? I'm in Pennsylvania if that helps any.

    Thanks

    Adam

  4. Hey guys

    A few weeks ago I got a speeding ticket from a Massachusetts state trooper, I've been told that I should keep some kind of record that I paid the ticket because it may be asked about when I go for citizenship in a few years.

    However, I called the district court and MassRMV, and neither can provide a receipt.

    The most I have is a confirmation screenshot of when I paid the ticket online - which shows the amount paid, the confirmation number and the citation number. I also have a screenshot of my bank statement that shows the payment.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks

    Hi Guys,

    Since mid May I was told by USCIS that my case is done with the background check and everything and is ready to be scheduled for interview by the local office (I filed my case 07/31/2017). My online status hasn't been changed though. I went to my local office in LA, and they said that my case is still on the way.  Do you guys know how long it takes for a case to be transferred to the local office? Thanks

    Our case status changed to 'ready to be scheduled for an interview' in September and we got our interview scheduled on May 17th. So what's that, 8 months?

    Just got an informed delivery notifiaction of a mail from USCIS and our interview was in Thursday last week. We are away in California so we know what it is until we get back! Just worried about what it says🙂

    It'll be your approval notice! We got two approval notices (typical, wait a year for approval then two turn up at once!) on Friday. Green Card is out for delivery today!

    I would point out as much as people say that Hillary is an elitist, I don't know a single politician that isn't elitist. Certainly Trump is elitist in his own 'special way' and has been for years. Hillary is.. well Hillary. I don't think that if we look back on her life history that we can't say she isn't smart. In all the things I've ever observed in her, one is that she often fell into the trappings of having people re-shape her (and lots of politicians do this when they run.. which makes them look fake). It is difficult for women in that sort of business, and I don't think the politic life ever came easy for her or quite natural. Certainly her campaign was not well run. I also don't think her failure in 08 was due to being out of touch. Let's face it, Obama had all the right stuff that Americans tend to go for in most of our Presidents through history, and while she did not win the election, she did win the popular vote. We can't say if people merely held their noses for those votes, or if they genuinely believed in her.

    Oh yeah don't get me wrong, Trump - in his own way - is just as out of touch. Really, how in touch can a multi billionaire be? I just think he knew the issues, knew the failings of the Obama administration and knew how to best exploit them on the campaign trail - which is where Hillary fell down I think. People who live in areas that had their health insurance leveled by Obamacare didn't want to hear from Hillary about how it 'just needs tweaking' - they wanted extreme measures, i.e repeal and replace - and I think that's something unique to Donald Trump, I can't think of many other politicians who could get away with being as contentious on the campaign trail as he was, most of the stuff that came out during the 2016 election cycle would've sank most other candidates, but they just seemed to bounce off Trump. Whether that was down to 'the forgotten men and women of America', or if it was just that Hillary was a bad candidate, we'll never know.

    You're right that Hillary fell into the trap of re-shaping, which isn't a bad thing necessarily - views change, if you look at Trump - his views have changed a lot since the mid 90's, early 2000's on some things. The thing that made people raise their eyebrows at Hillary was she would then go onto claim she's been consistent on every issue. And this is my issue with her. Every politician lies in some capacity, some more than others, but Hillary lies about stuff that didn't even matter. Like landing in Bosnia under sniper fire, there was no point at all to that lie - and that's just one example of the pointless lying. The other big one is when she claimed she'd always supported gay marriage.

    Oh joy, yet another tread bemoaning how the Democratic party has gone too far to the left according to Republicans.

    So how exactly would that show that the Dems are moving far Left? Wait, wait don't tell me. Hillary is now far left:jest:

    I was more so getting at the fact that she's so out of touch she can't seem to get a message through to the middle class, which is why she failed in 2008 and failed in 2016. I don't actually think she's that far left, but I do think she's an out of touch elitist who simply doesn't understand the plight of most people, which is something that Trump capitalized on to great success in 2016.

    Her 2016 campaign was also God awful, she campaigned over and over again in places like Philadelphia which was going to vote Democrat no matter what, and left small town Pennsylvania (as an example) wide open for Trump to sweep in.

    I also never mentioned that the Democratic Party was moving too far to the left, I simply asked the question as to whether far leftists were hurting the parties chances in the mid terms.

    Yeah I read this. Even Chuck Schumer, and to a lesser degree Nancy Pelosi denounced what Waters said. I think they probably realize this rhetoric isn't good for the Party as a whole, and will likely hurt them going into the midterms. The RNC are already publishing commercials like this;

  10. I'm not trying to be rude here, but I am genuinely curious. The Democratic Party has often been the favored party of liberals, with Barack Obama probably being the most liberal President the United States has ever had, apart from perhaps Lyndon B Johnson in terms of expanding Government programs.

    But with how divided the country is right now, it appears to me - and openly I will admit I'm a Republican so perhaps somewhat biased - it appears to me that the left is far more intolerant and more willing to shut down opposing views than the right. The irony of this, the current champion of the liberal agenda is Bernie Sanders - who has probably divided the Democratic Party more than any other politician in recent memory through riling up a base during the 2016 election, and not being able to then control that base when he didn't get the nomination (through illegitimate means or not, that's another discussion).

    I've been in Philadelphia, which admittedly is a largely liberal city, wearing a Reagan - Bush '84 campaign shirt, and on more than one occasion I've had people come up to me, hysterical, calling me a bigot, sexist etc. completely unprovoked.

    So for liberals, I know that most of you are reasonable people - but for the more extreme liberals, are they hurting the Democratic Parties chances in the mid terms? Right after Trump's election the Democrats had a 13 point lead in the polls, that lead has all but disappeared and most polls now show the two sides neck in neck going into November. What's the solution?

  11. We had our interview in Philadelphia this morning and were approved on the spot, the whole interview took about ten minutes and he only asked one question 'how did you guys meet?' - he then asked for evidence, we gave him the folder we brought but he only really looked at the joint checking account statements and our photos. Nice guy, said he was approving us and would receive Green Card in two weeks.

  12. So our interview is at 9am tomorrow morning in Philadelphia - I believe we have everything. We're taking three folders;

    1) Folder 1 is comprised of the original AOS package, the copies we took

    2) Folder 2 is comprised of the documents stated on the interview notice (my birth certificate, wife's birth certificate, updated IRS tax transcripts with a new I-864 for the 2017 tax year etc.)

    3) Folder 3 is comprised of evidence supporting our relationship (joint checking account statements, phone plan, car insurance policy, photos, gym membership etc.)

    Any last minute things we need to do?
