Seems like the NOA2s arrive based on a criteria we are not aware of; maybe it's country based, maybe the IR-type (spouse, child, parents, etc.), who knows. We have also been waiting for 4 months from Nebraska Service Center and we were told it would take around 5 months. However, last year mine as an IR-1 took 6 months also from Nebraska and we were told it could take 6-8 months. All we can do is wait, they will eventually arrive. Congratulations on everybody who received their NOA2s earlier than expected. And for all of you who are still waiting, my advice is to not worry, it will arrive.
Last year, I was so stressed while going through my process, I did not want it to delay too long. Now I look back and realize there was no need to stress out; even though it was a long wait everything arrived properly, were able to complete all the steps, pay the fees, send the documents, plan the trip to the U.S. Embassy in my country, my visa was approved, it arrived to my hometown a few days after, I was able to return to the U.S. to join my husband and even received a nice job offer shortly after my arrival. All the chips fell in place properly; we just don't see it until the end of the journey.
We appreciate everyone's updates.

From the VJ timelines for Nebraska Service Center, most likely until April. I'm on the same boat.

Sometimes it helps to view other cases from your home country (here in visajourney) to have an idea of the timelines. For us in Mexico we have very long waits. Pur U.S. embassy in Cd Juarez will process thousands of visas per day. It is the largest U.S. embassy in the world, so we will be waiting for several months. Philippines should be shorter.

I entered the U.S. 08/27/16. Paid the $165 online on 09/06/16. Green card arrived in the mail 10/18/16. Hope this helps.

Hi everyone. Is anyone familiar with the timeline and documents required to bring a stepchild of U.S. citizen? I am already living in the U.S. and have my green card. My Consular process took a total of 14 months, everything went well and did not encounter any problems. This year we are working in bringing my son who lives in Mexico through the same process. Any information or past experiences from someone who already went through this process would be much appreciated. Thank you!

Is he/she your child? or stepchild? Was he/she born in Africa? And were you not able to obtain a Consular Report of Birth Abroad (CRBA)? and apply for his/her U.S. passport? We are also petitioning for my son, but step-child of a U.S. citizen. Our NOA1 is Oct 4, 2016 and still waiting on the NOA2. Looks like it is a 5-6 month wait.
