Ok, we just got the email that our NOA2 is in the mail. I was reading about what I need to send to my fiance and I do not have a copies of the application or anything else we sent with it. It says to bring them with to the interview....so how big of a deal is this going to be?? I would think they would have the original with them at the time of the interview but I don't know.

We just got our NOA2....is there anything we can be getting done now while waiting for the next step?? What about the medical? Are there certain dr.s that you must go to? Is there anything that he needs to bring with him to his appointment? I guess any info. would be good....I've been focusing on getting the NOA2 and I haven't even thought about what to do next.

Congratulations, but can't ya wake him up to tell him? it's a pretty good darn reason, isn't it?

ha, I tried waking him up....called his phone about a million times but the boy hears nothing when he's sleeping. It's frustrating me, but owell I'll just tell him first thing in the morning.

Finally got the approval, 3 days short of 6 months!! My senator made an inquiry on October 27th so I don't know if that did it or I just got plain lucky. Of course my hunny is asleep so I can't tell him tonight.

I just want to say thanks to everyone. And for those of you who are still waiting I will be praying for your approval every night. If a couple can make it through this then they can make it through anything!! We're all very lucky!

i came to the states to visit also when we going through the K1...i brought all the same info and i wasnt asked for any of it...

you will be fine as long as your fiance is honest in the questions they ask..

I know it's possible for my fiance to come visit me here in the U.S. while our visa is processing. And i know what type of info. to bring to show ties to his country. But he does not own a house or pay any utility bills. He can bring paystubs from work, bank statements, and a letter from his employer stating when he will be returning back to work. Plus he'll have his return ticket for like a week later. Anything else that could be helpful?? I don't know if just that alone is going to work. We're gonna give it a try and hope we didn't waste a couple hundred dollars for no reason. Do u guys think we have a chance?

It seems like USCIS decided to pass over the remaining March, April, and May petitions. I hardly ever see any approvals with these NOA1 dates anymore. It's very discouraging. I think they forgot about us. We should just start all over and send in new petitions, I think it would be quicker.

no, he will not need a police certificate from the US, they run a US criminal background check as a matter of course.

My fiance is a Canadian citizen. He lived in the U.S. for about 2 years though....does this mean he has to obtain a police certificate from the U.S.?? If so how do we go about getting this when the time comes?? He probably won't need it for a while but just so i know for later on....

There's not a question about previous filing. You don't actually check any boxes saying Y/N. They simply inform you that if the petitioner's filed before, a waiver is needed (on either the RFE and the I-129f).

There is a question about it on form I-129F, and the instructions explain that if you´ve filed twice before you need a waiver.

Ok, so it wasn't actually on the RFE it was on the I-129F application only right?

What did they ask you guys on the IMBRA RFE....i saw something on here saying it asked about prior petitions you've filed and i don't recall being asked that on the form.

I think it was just if we met thru a marriage broker or if i had a criminal background...

that would be what i'd do. but wait and see what others offer for advice just to get a quorum.

reading that, it sounds to me like they saw you as a way to increase their customer base. and very little benefit for you btw.

But the thing is....I definitely do not have a full clientele....I have a decent amount but not enough by any means to fill up my schedule. So I don't know how much it's going to help them.

ok...this may be long and i may be too "serious" of a topic....but i am very frustrated and so maybe looking at this with cloudy judgment.

i was working as a stylist at a salon....when i was out i ran into a girl who i used to work with and she was out with the owner of the new salon she was working at. So i went over and had a chat with the owner lady. She seemed interested and I TOLD HER I DID NOT HAVE A FULL CLIENTELE. So i dropped into the salon and we had a few more talks....then decided i would start there. It seemed great....it was close by and it was just a cute small salon...only 3 chairs and commission pay. This girl i used to work with had no clientele but she was still getting appointments and making decent money.

SO....i gave my two weeks at this old salon and decided it would be perfect after leaving that job to go visit my hunny in canada for a few weeks then start at this new salon when i got back. So I talked to the owner about my starting date....we decided on saturday (yesterday) since i wouldn't be getting back into the states until late this past thursday. SHE told ME to drop off my list of clients and my work schedule before i went to canada and she would send something out to them all while i was gone and that she would start booking appointments with me in the mean time. So i drop the stuff off the day before leaving....the owner is not there and that's when i find out there's another girl who also works there.

Now i planned on sending something out to the clients on my own so i'm thinking this is great....she offered so ya i'll let her do it!!

So i get home and i call her friday afternoon to see what going on. No answer so i leave her a message. i call the girl i previously work with and she asks when i'm starting....i tell her tomorrow i think....she says well i think she said something about you starting on monday because we don't have any chairs open on saturday. So...i try the lady back again later...no answer.

She calls and leaves me a message Sat. (yesterday) morning and says all this:

I see your work schedule here and your not working as much as i expected you to (she never told me how many hours she wanted me to work and she told me to drop off when i wanted to work)

Then she tells me that i can come in on tuesday and start calling all my clients to book them with me because she won't be able to send something out to them until maybe next week (ok i did not get my clients phone numbers prior to leaving my old salon because my plane was to mail them all something....i would find it annoying if a stylist called my house trying to get me to set up a hair appointment...a simple flyer would be good enough but that's just me, plus she told me she would send them something WHILE i was in canada)

Then thursday we'd all get our picture taken, do some advertising and a color class(that's all good)

BUT never did she mention when i would be starting or that she had booked any appointments with me.

Ok so I know i need to do my share....or most of it. But when i'm told that something will be send out it should be. When i'm told she will start booking clients she should. She had no problems booking people with this girl i know working there .

I could call my clients but that's still not enough business for me to survive off of....and I CLEARLY TOLD HER THAT FROM THE BEGINNING. So she should be booking appointments.

I cannot wait another week at least to start....I NEED MONEY....and i planned on starting saturday like i was told. She gets loads of money from her rich ex-husband so i don't think she understands that really.

So to end this long ole thing.....I called her back yesterday after receiving her message....no answer....i left a message saying ok i can work more hours that's fine.....just give me a call back and let me know when you'll be in the salon and i can stop by. (She's never there....i live a block away and have gone up there several times to talk to her) SHE HAS NOT CALLED BACK YET.

So i'm thinking screw it...this much hassle and drama and i haven't even started yet!?!?!?!?

Now i am looking for another job....and i feel so weird....basically unemployed...which is scary.

So i guess for those of you who didn't fall asleep.....my question is what would you do in the same situation???

When submitting a resume how important do you guys think it is to include a cover letter??

There's no universal answer to this question. It depends on who's looking at applicants. Personally, when considering candidates, I don't read cover letters.

I'm trying to check my case status online. I enter my CORRECT receipt number and then it says.....

Status for this Receipt Number cannot be found at this time in this automated system. Please check your case receipt number to see if it is correct. If you have questions or concerns about your case status, please contact the service center where you submitted your application.

I know for a fact that i'm entering the correct receipt number. First off i use it everyday with no problem, and i have my NOA1 right in front of me.

Anybody else having any problems with it??

I prefer him to be around his friends...I dont want him to be alone thinking about how long this is taking, They are a good distraction for him. I trust him 100% threre has never been a time that I have called that he has not answerd his phone.

That's very true....I guess it's better that he's having fun then being bored and lonely. I honestly do not have any trust issues either....I know that's something I don't have to worry about. I think I just miss him so much that it totally clouds my logical thinking and it's hard for me to see the big picture....like the reward we have in the end.

What do you say to him after he goes out? Do you get upset with him, become silent, yell, berate him? Knowing that you're wrong to be jealous is the first step. I've gotten used to going to a see movie by myself but I know it's awkward. We have set times that we talk on the phone usually and then I occupy the rest of time with things that I know I should be doing or things I want to do. Whatever you do, don't catch yourself idling and being pre-occupied with missing him too much - it'll drive you crazy.

Actually after he goes out I'm usually fine...its right before he does. I don't really yell or anything I guess I'm just short with him. Kinda mean towards him even. I completely know that i'm wrong. And I do stuff to keep myself busy but my mind is always going and going and how much i miss him just keeps popping up.

I love him more than anything but sometimes I just think I don't have what it takes to get through this. Because since i know i'm wrong i think it isn't fair to him that he has to deal with this insane person (me) so maybe i would just be doing him a favor by ending it. But then it's like i really don't want to give up, i know thats the wrong thing to do when you've found someone that you want to spend the rest of your life with.

Ha, i feel like i have mulitple personalities. I'll get over it because i don't have a choice.

I know the distance can be hard. I went through those same feelings. Try and remember that he is giving up his life to come be with you and it is natural that he will want to spend some time with his friends before he moves away. It also helps if you can get your schedules to match. You go out at the same time that he does.

Ha thanks guys. Its like just writing this I see how dumb i sound. I guess just getting out of my head and saying it or writing it makes me see it from a different perspective.

I dealt with it because he had his own life before we got together and it would be selfish to deny him that simply because I was 3500 miles away and couldn't share it with him.

Of course....I do not want to deny him anything. I think he should have a life....and me as well.

I guess i just need to toughen up and get over it.
