  1. I just realized that my passport is going to expire in 5 months. I will have to get new one too and will be paying the extra $70 fee to get in expadited as Urgent. Just another pain in the ####### thing to get done before going to Montreal.

Ha well good thing I had the same problem....so i guess he can get it within 2 to 9 business days, but it's a little more expensive. I think we'll be alright.

  2. Sorry, I swear I'm almost done. Our interview is next month and my fiance's passport expires in july. I guess I"m not sure what i'm asking but is that going to be a problem? I mean it'll still be good for the interview and of course he won't be able to come down until it's renewed. This won't really matter will it??

  3. You sent back your packet 3 checklist Jan 6 and still have not been scheduled an interview date yet? Have you contacted Montreal to check if they have scheduled you for June since quite a few who have sent in their packet 3 in Jan have been scheduled for interviews in June.

    Just got a date today!!

  4. Our date is June 18th...we just found out today!! I'm reading about a form OF167, is this something we need, and if so where can I find it?? Also, we never made copies of our original K1 application, is this going to be a problem? And one more thing, can someone help me find a good checklist of everything we'll need to bring to the interview?? I've tried searching I guess I"m just no good at finding what i need. I"m just very nervous and stressed but so excited so my brain's not working well right now!! Thanks.

  5. My fiance had his medical exam in january, and we're still waiting for an interview. I thought I'd read somewhere that the exam is only valid for 6 months, is that correct or did i just make it up? I really hope he doesn't have to get another one done...

  6. My fiance was here on a student visa until January of last year, then decided not to go to school anymore. Since he obviously didn't have a student visa anymore he talked to a lawyer to see what he should do. She said that he would have to go back to canada but could then come right back down as a visitor for up to 6 months. So this is what we tried but he was denied on the way back into the U.S. He mentioned something about us getting married. I know that's stupid of us but at the time we didn't have a clue. The same lawyer gave us some more bad info.

He did get in about a month later and was told he could only stay for a month, I think he was here 6 weeks and then went back home. Since then we've started the whole visa process and he's made 2 more trips, they definitely questioned him but he was still let in. My question is, do u think he might not be granted the visa since he was denied entry or because he stayed a couple weeks longer then he should have?? I guess I'm just really started to worry about this since we're getting closer to the end.

  7. Can I just get a copy of my taxes from my accountant? Or do I actually need to have the IRS send them to me? Also, they only want the last years returns now right?

I'm completely confused, but you're talking about getting copies of your tax returns for AOS...? If so, calling the IRS for copies is very simple -- it took my husband only a few minutes to request them and they sent copies within two weeks.

Sorry I should explain myself. I need to get them for the I134 for my fiance's interview. I can easily get copies from the accountant I just don't know if that'll work.

  9. I believe that its just those three, the checklist, DS156 and DS230. Everyone says not to send the DS156 but I'm thinking that they just recently decided they wanted that mailed to them also. My fiance just got his packet 3 like 2 weeks ago and this is what it told him to send.

Hi do you know if he affixed the 2 passport pics to the DS156 they want and sent them too

I read somewhere in here they'll require 2 passport pics at the interview

What's on my cover page reads to send the checklist, duplicate DS156, and DS230 immediately too

I wonder if Montreal has changed it's format from when Mephys and CutienPurg sent the package 3 items back

It would be nice if there's anyone as recent as us in here returning forms to find out what they did.

I tried several times calling Fri at the times they specify to contact. As far as I got was recorded music

I want to mail it tommorrow but want to be sure about everything. Including affixing the 2 pics and sending them too

    Thanks

Any assistance would be of great help

I believe he sent in the two passport pics too. I'm sure they just changed things....I was leery too because it was different for everyone else but as long as you follow the directions exactly it'll be fine.

  11. My fiance is trying to tell me that the instructions are saying to send the DS156 as well. I'm trying to tell him he's wrong but he's insisting. If he sends that in too and then just brings another copy to the interview would that be ok? I can't really get it through to him he's way to stubborn.

  12. Ok first, on the nonimmigrant visa application(DS156) what does he put on question 26 how long do u intend to stay in the U.S.? I mean permanently is the plan but can he simply put that?

For two, does he have to have everything on the checklist actually done before he can return the packet? or is it ok if it's all there in time for the interview?

And the last one, I think, can he make the appointment and go to his medical before he has an inteview date? And is there anything he has to bring with him to the appointment?

    Thanks if anyone can help!

  13. We were approved on Nov. 1st and my fiance still hasn't received packet 3. I contacted Montreal and they said that the info. was mailed out on Nov. 29th. They emailed me on Dec. 21st saying they had the wrong postal code for my fiance's address and that another packet was sent out. Not sure how that happened. I know things are probably slow because of the holidays but how long should I sit and wait for it to arrive before contacting them again? I'm just really getting sick of waiting on them. I'm really trying to be patient but at this point it's really getting hard.

  14. I took Jersey Girl's advise yesterday and followed these instructions:

    Call: 514-398-9695 Press 4 (between 2:00 & 4:30 eastern time)

Worked for me!! Was in cue for a few minutes, but talked to a real person!

Ok guys, when i do that some recording tells me that my call can't be completed and to try again later and then it hangs up....so what's the deal??

  15. So I emailed Montreal embassy and they say that our petition was received and paperwork was sent out on Nov. 29th...why haven't we gotten it?? Like so much time is being wasted. He could have had it sent back by now but instead we haven't even received it. At this point i'm really getting mad....trying not to be but it's really not working. I wish this was over with. I want to scream.

  16. Our NOA2 date is November 1st. I received a letter from NVC dated Nov. 20th saying that our petition would be sent to the Montreal embassy within 7 days. My fiance still hasn't gotten packet 3 in the mail. Isn't it about time we got that?? Anybody know the best way to contact the embassy?? email address or phone number?? I might just be a little too antsy but I'd like to stay on top of things....i'm sick of waiting. So if anyone could let me know how to find out what's going on that would be great. Thanks.

  17. All that I actually sent for supporting documents were a few pictures and a flight itinerary, and those I did not make copies of. I can of course get another copy of my birth certificate though. Unfortunately I sent in the I129F before finding this website, otherwise I would've made copies before mailing everything off. So I'm just gonna hope that they'll have it all there at the interview.
