  1. Good morning everyone!

I started working the late shift this week so I have been going to bed around 1 and getting up at 7:45 to get to work by 10. It's nice.... still not enough sleep, but that's a sacrifice I am willing to make to see my husband every night for at least 30 min.

I get to finish organizing my closets and doing the laundry tonight. Loads of fun!:bonk:

Anyway, Hope you all have a wonderful day!

P.S.- If anyone has a recipe for Harira... Please post it in the Sultans Kitchen for me! I have been craving it and can't find a good recipe! Thanks!

  2. Hey y'all!

Well I finally have VJ back at work! I have to catch up on everything now. It's coming time to remove conditions for the hubby! We have a restrauant now. It's a med/italian/greek pizzeria called La Casa Della Pizza. It's been open for 6 weeks now. We are moving farther north of Philly to be closer to his store which will be a farther for me to get to work, but I don't mind. So everything has been good for us. His mother is coming next week for a month long visit. I'm soooo excited because I haven't seen her since March of 2007(unless you count via webcam).

    Anyway... How is everyone today?

I am in Philly, where is your shop? I'd be glad to meet you there and taste some food

    Lisa

It's actually in Riegelsville, PA. It's off 611 about a hour and a half north from Philly. BTW.... I should mention... I have nothing to do with the restrauant. It's all his, but I occasionally go up there for a meal on the weekend.

  3. Hello!

Time has come for us to get our stuff together for the removal of conditions. I am stuck though. So far as proof we have a joint bank statement and medical insurance. I am not on the lease with him because our landlord doesn't know how to spell my name so he he hasn't included me for 2 years now. I pay all utilities and he pays rent. I don't have a car and I am not on his vehicle or insurance. So we don't have much to show, as we like to keep our finances seperate from one another. Is a bank statement and medical insurance card enough?

    Thanks!

  5. OMG janine! How are you????????? It has been too long! Good to see you!

    Jackie

I've been good! Busy but good. Adil is opening a restrauant in a month and we will be moving about an hours drive from where we are now. But, I'm excited! We are looking into buying a house that has land in that area too! No more city!!!!!!!!!!!!! Anywho... needed to check in and see when we need to remove conditions. But hopefully I will stop in again. TTFN!

  6. hi! I just posted and then saw this thread. I'm alright, I'm alive and as well as one can be while working full-time and going to school full-time. Thanks for thinking of me. It's nice to know I'm missed.

  7. Hey ya'll! I've been really busy lately with working two jobs(now one) and going back to school, so that's why I haven't been on in a long time. Not to mention my work blocked almost every website. Anyway, I started my classes last week and I love being back in school. Finally I have the motivation and the support to stick to school and get my stinking degree! Yay! My best friend is now going through the visa process with her new husband, also from Morocco and also happens to be my downstairs neighbors. She has been on here a few times, but I don't know if she has posted anything. I told her she should, but she thinks she has everything under control, which she doesn't and wont listen or take any of my advice and is probably going to have a lot of headache in the future. Anyway, all I can do is wait for them to come to thier senses and ask.

So what's new with everyone? I don't have any time to read through a lot of topics I have missed, so sorry if I have missed out on things.

Adil and I have been seeing the "doc" for a few months now, and we will hopfully adding another placemat to our table within the next year. I know that it will take a lot of time and effort, not to mention slow down school and work, but we have it all worked out so all will work out, Nchallah. Our one year anniversary is coming up soon. I still can't believe we've been married(legally) for a year! It seems like a month ago it was August, and now it's June!

Anyway, I have to get to bed, as it's 1:30am and I have to be up at 6am for work. I hope everyone is well. I will try to stop by more often now that I have a new laptop that doesn't take forever to connect to the internet.

Since most of you will be reading this in the morning, hope you all have a great morning and a great day!

  8. Jackie that's funny. We were pulled from the line too. But it was stupid because it was because Adil had one run-in 3 1/2 years ago with immigration for not having his papers on him and in a safe deposit box. So they pulled him in and asked about what had happened and I was totally pissed off at the guy cause he was a total whohaa. He said that it's likely that we will get pulled into immigration everytime because of the same stupid thing. I mean why the hell didn't we get questioned about it when we were going the the AOS process. It's the most stupid thing I have ever heard of. Anyway, we are back and really considering selling the car and moving to Morocco.

Glad everyones travels have been good so far.

  9. Helloooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Good Moooorrrrnnnnning!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well we got back in the states last night. We didn't get home until 10:30 and didn't get to bed until 12. I'm actually feeling very energetic this morning. I am wearing my very cute, new, and stylish jilaba at work today and I have gotten many compliments on it. After spending 3 weeks in Morocco and doing next to nothing productive, I am really happy to be back at work. But upon my arrival I found out that the company is going through some major cutbacks and it looks like we will be losing the internet in the next few weeks. So that's a downfall of coming back to work, but I have two job offers that I am going to be calling tomorrow to let them know I am back and can start within the next month or two.

So I miss Morocco very much. I wish I had more money and more vacation time so I could go back.

Does anyone know how to prepare a tagine to be cooked in? I forgot to have that done before I left.

  10. Hi everyone!

Finally got a moment to sit down and play around on the internet. Been a crazy week since we got back from marrakech. We went to Tetauon, then to Asila, and to some other small town outside Tanger. We went fabric shopping for jilabas and i found one that's a 2 piece and one that's going to be full length. The 2 piece got finished tonight so we went and I tried it on and it's super cute! Anyway, had some problems since I have been here. The funniest things too. Apparently when you make an appointment for the hair dresser they can push it back 2 hours. Adil and his family says that it's because I am not going to be a permanent client so they don't care. Then one of his uncles, "Doctor", asked us for the pictures from a week ago and we went to have a fez developed off my card and they claim the numbers are completely switched and wrong and took an extra hour to get the right ones that still were't the ones I wanted. But, that is all ok because besides those two things, people have been super nice and I have such a wonderful family!

Tonight we are having harira for dinner. I swear the only things I do here sometimes are eating and sleeping. Looks like when I get back I am going to have to go to the gym every day for at least 3 months to lose the weight. Oh well, I really can't complain because I know the food is going to be the one thing I miss.

We will be in Casa on Saturday and leave for the states on Sunday. Hopefully everything will go ok travel wise. I'm really sad to think that our time here is coming to an end. But I think we will be back here sooner than we think if my sister gets married in the fall like they are saying.

Jackie: Hope you had a good trip back to the states. Hope the jet-lag isn't to bad for you.

Well that's all for today and this week. Hope everyone is well. Take care and talk to ya'll soon!

  11. We're staying in Morocco!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok..... I wish we were staying in Morocco. We'll be back in two weeks and a few days. I love it here so much! I think in a year or two we will move here for sure. And I have been thinking even right now we should be here. There is so much stuff here we have to get done since his father passed away. It's so hard for his mother right now with everything, and I know a huge burdon has been lifted off her shoulders since we've been here. I just wish there was a way for us to do that right now, but there isn't.

Anyway, today we went to Tetuan to look at one of the peices of land and to visit some of his family. It was very nice, but I still like Tanger! Tomorrow we will go to his father's grave and then to Mohamed V mosque for Jummah and then eat Cous Cous!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and then tomorrow night Adil and I are taking a train to Marrakech and staying there for a day or so!

Anyway, that's all that's going on here. All is well and I love my family!
