Thank you kez!

TIA

Hi all, been here for a while, after wife is here on K3, took some time off from this forums.
Now have a doubt on Medicals. Did a search, couldnt get any info.
Have all the docs/photos/stubs,etc ready.
what about medicals? The AOS appointment letter says that we need to bring in our medicals too..
arent these medicals done at the foreign embassy? or should she get her medicals done again here in the US?
The medical report she got done at the Foreign embassy were taken from her, and i guess they have it in the brown colored sealed envelope...which she had hand over at the POE
any suggestions shall be very greatful

hi xyz, we had our interview last fri (07/20), but we didnt have our passport delivered yet.
checked the "track your passport" via VFS website, it shows that our passport hasn't been recieved by them from the consulate!

Congratulations, SEAL BROWN ENVELOPE is very important that she had to give it to the immigration officer at the port of entry make sure dont open the seal envelope otherwise it be a big problem just take that envelope as it is in seal and give it to the immigration officer at the port of entry
Happy reunion and congrats again
faal
thank u faal, yea i saw threads about this sealed envelope.. i think basically she gets a packet delivered thru courier service, in which it contains both the sealed cover and the passport!

 CONGRATULATIONS TO BOTH OF YOU!
Your Chennai interview story sounds like mine, i.e., staying up all night waiting for the news, then loud streets and car honking but getting the good news, then not getting details for a day or two later due to no cell signal!
Anyway PHEW it is over and soon you will be together in USA! Best wishes and write the details when you get them! (Later you can also see whether any updates are needed on the Embassy Info page.)
thank u Eileen for ur support , cant forget those emails from u regds the paper work
shall still be bugging u for additonal info after she lands here

More updates!
she was called at 9 Am to a window, an indian lady asked for the medicals, and asked the below questions
1) how did u meet him (family members)
2) is it first marriage for both u (yes)
3) where does he work (my client name)
thats it, but the lady wrote down all the answer my wife told on a sheet of paper.
she gave her a token no and asked her to have a seat to be called
after 5 hours! (yep, as i told u they took care of the children and elderly ppl), she was called to a window, an american this time, was very helpful, cos, he didnt ask anything, just said these few good words "everything looks correct and sufficient, ur visa and passport shall be mailed to you" and he has the same sheet of answers the indian lady has taken from my wife, in front of him
my wife said thank you sir, to which he replied that its his duty..
she asked if she can pick her passport from the consulate itself, to which he replied "please enquire with VFS, once done, we dont have a answer regds their delivery times"
again and again, thank u all, started this journey from Dec 06 (infact apr 06 from filing my citizenship)...and its u who were behind all this, ur support and blessings cant be measured..
BUT, have a question, i think or heard that they give a sealed cover or something to carry to the port of entry??, didnt hear anything from her regds this, as again she is still in the train..?
is it just the passport with visa stamped ??

here is some info..
intrv was at 9AM, she went inside at 8 AM
she came out at 1.10PM, 2.40 AM my time here
was fully tensed why the interview took that long..luckyly she called me @2.45AM and told the good news.
seems the interview lasted 1-2 mins, finally she was said u are approved, and they handed her the original documents(that were submitted at VFS) (shall update you what questions and documents she was asked in that 1-2 mins gap, i too dont know as of now)
seems she asked the officer if she can pick her passport in the evening, but he replied that once they "hand over to VFS, they dont have answer, so please talk to them"
there were lots of kids(K4?) and many elderly people, they were given first preference, and she was called at the very last min
slept at 3AM, couldnt talk to her because of traffic and sounds (and she was in a hurry to go to VFS office ), by the time i woke up, she was already in a train, lost signal..
thank you all for ur wishes and prayers....wish u all the best of luck in your interviews and future steps

by evening shall update you all with the details, right now she is on her way back to Hyd, no signal for her mobile...
thank you all
for your support and help
-
didnt get this - but the system requested that a third clearnce be conducted .
what do u mean by system?
saw many threads about some background check even in india, esp for K1, asking for all the family details of both the parties...

thank u Eileen

3. Does my wife have to submit them in person or can I request my brother to submit the documents?
(do they verify any information etc. which would require my wife to be in person at the VFS office)
i think the beneficiary should present there. even if they allow ur brother to hand over the documents, i would still suggest that ur wife be present there personaly.
it elimintaes any doubts she may have regds the documentation, or take this way, its kind of preliminary interview
is it really a kind of preliminary interview
some consulates do have a preliminary interview i m not sure but canada can be one of them
does this vfs act as prelims interviews for indian consulates ?
nooo..sorry to confuse u...its not a interview at all..
my wife lost some tensions regarding the interview when she met these vfs ppl..so i was just trying to say it just acts as a step ahead

my wife went to VFS office (hyd) y'day morning.
1)they just took 2 copies of DS156 and I 134 (this package has bank stmnts, paystubs, 2006 tax forms, emp letter)..
they asked for medicals too, to which she replied that she would submit them at the consulate, as she plans to get all the work done at a single shot, i.e, travel to chennai, get her medicals done, take 2 days rest, go to intrv on jul 20, instead of traveling to and fro.
the vfs said its fine
2) the packet 4 said to get my tax forms of the recent year and the recent year is 2005
but i just send 2006, the vfs didnt complain bout this (but am anyways sending 2005 too, which may be helpful at the consulate)
3) DS 156- i made print outs on 3 different pages, but vfs wanted the first 2 pages to be on a single paper, i.e, page 1 and 2 on front and bac of a single sheet, page 3 to be page 2. luckyly vfs has a copy center in their office
4) they took some pictures of the marriage (15), which 10 have both of us, remaining 5 shall have both the families involved
(p.s should she take more to the consulate, she is planning to take 3 full albums
engagement, marriage, reception, will they allow inside?
)
5) they took copies of my US passport, my US citizenship cert, original marriage cert along with a copy, her original birth cert with a copy, her police certs and copies
6) they gave reciept of the documents that they took
she shall go to lister labs on 16th, medicals on 17th and intrv on jul 20
need help for AOS interview

thanks Kez for your replies.
i did get hold of the photostat copies of the medicals done at the foreign consulate.
the medical rpt looks good, but on the vaccination doc, the doctor striked off the middle and wrote "K3 visa" on the middle of the doc.
and below under "results", there is a check box "applicant may be eligible for blanket waiver because of the above reason" and the above reason is, like i said, she stroke off and wrote K3 visa.
do you think we look fine?
