  1. Another question that I have, when you send off the forms for Package 3 are you supposed to get a confirmation from the consulate? I sent the forms off 1 month ago and have not heard from them. Should I worry?

I have just emailed them (LondonConsular@state.gov) with my case number. I hope they've received everything.

When I didn't hear anything for 2 weeks from the Consulate in Frankfurt/ Germany after sending in my package 3, I started to call and email them and it turned out, that the original petition was still on the way from the NVC to the Consulate.

I started to call them every 3 days and finally they told me, that the petition arrived. It took then another 2 weeks until the name background check was finished and then I received an unexpected phonecall from the Consulate on a Monday, where they offered me an interview date for Wednesday.

I would recommend to call or email them (what you already did) and to ask, if they received everything. I did the same and at least I received the email, that they got everything, and I was calmed. For us the waiting period between sending of pack 3 and receiving the interview date was the toughest time.

Anyway... good luck to you and I hope you'll get your interview date soon!!!!

  2. My fiancé is here on a K1, however we may be marrying after 90 day expiration of the K1, and filing for

the AOS later. I understand that once we are married, the fact that she was temporarily out of status

would be forgiven, however, for the AOS, will the immigration service accept any explanation for not

marrying before the K1 expired at 90 days, or will we have to provide an explanation that extenuating circumstances prevented us from marrying within 90 days?

Anyone experienced marrying after the 90 days?

I seriously can't understand why people don't get married within the required 90 days, although they signed the statement, that they will get married within 90 days after entering the US.

Why would you risk anything after all the effort you have been through?

  3. Hi! I just married my wife via the K-1 visa. Now, im in the process of preparing the AOS filing paperwork. This seems so obvious, but I don't want to trip up on this. What last name do I use for my wife????

The marriage cert from the court has her maiden name listed under her section. And, she has no id at the DMV or Social Security office yet, so I can't change anything there. Her visa and passport from Canada are obviously all under her maiden name.

Should I prepare the paperwork with her last name changed to mine? Or should I just prepare all the paperwork with her maiden name? We both want her name to be mine.

You prepare the paperwork with her last name changed to yours. :)

  4. Does anyone of you have any experience with http://www.tickerfactory.com ?

I tried to create a ticker and to use it in my signature, but I receive this message:

The error returned was:Sorry, an error occurred.

Board message:If you are unsure on how to use a feature, or don't know why you got this error message, try looking through the help files for more information.Sorry, dynamic pages in the tags are not allowed.

    Can anybody advice please?

  5. If you make an Infopass appt and the IO says not to worry, you're OK for 10 years, I wouldn't believe it.

Just my $.02, but I like the suggestion to get it corrected as soon as you are settled in a new job, or at the very least file for lifting of conditions 90 days before your 2 years are up.

    Maya

I agree, don't risk anything.... I would get it corrected also after you got settled in your new job.

  6. how long now it will take for the NVC to forward it to Frankfurt we don´t know exactly but a lady from the NVC told us it would be for sure in Fankfurt until Oct 10.

    Good Luck-Viel Glück

    Paula Jo and Rico

It took 3 weeks for our petition to get from the NVC to Frankfurt, I received the package number 3 before the petition arrived there. I sent the checklist and all forms back the same day, but when I called the consulate in Frankfurt to ask for my interview date 10 days later, they told me that our petition didn't arrive yet. Anyway... the people at the consulate in Frankfurt are really great... they called me immediately after the petition arrived and gave me my interviewdate on the phone :star:

  7. Hello, I just came across another question. Since my fiancee lives in Caracas, I went to the Embassy page for the consulate located there, and it states that my fiancee should fill out the following:

Fill out, in duplicate, but do NOT sign, the following forms:

    * Form DS-156 Nonimmigrant Visa Application

    * Form DS-156K, Nonimmigrant Fiancée Visa Application

    * Form DS-230 Biographic Data, part 1.1

Now, I noticed on the USCIS Example forms located on this website, that in addition to these forms my fiance has to fill out, there is also a DS-157 and DS-158 form. Since the consulate in my fiancee's country DOESN'T specify she has to fill out a DS-157 and DS-158, then obviously we don't have to worry about filling out these forms right? I just want to make sure. Can someone confirm this? Do different consulates require different forms to be filled out?

I just looked through the documents I had to fill out for the consulat in Germany. I wasn't required to fill out the DS- 158 form, but I was required to fill out the DS- 157 form. If the two forms are not listed on the list your fiancee received (or will receive) in her package number 3, then I would assume that there is no need to do this.

The DS- 156K is the ONLY form you are not supposed to sign, she needs to sign it in front of the consular officer.

  8. As far as for the gov. not until she is there but over all... there are fees such as her visa fees, her medical exam fee, and so on...

Add onto that the trip to the interview, a safe place to stay, dinning, a gift to show her how much you love her (L) Then the Trip to US. You want to be sure she is comfortable and not waiting for hours in foreign airports, maybe getting lost, a more dirrect flight. More money for her to dine and call an airport person to help her with her heavy luggage to the next terminal.

I would say it will cost how ever much you value this Woman you want so bad you can not live without.

That is how much I am willing to pay!

Oh my god... that is soooooooooooooooooo sweet  !!!!!

  9. Hi,

Please can someone help me. I had one medical before i left London on the 11 January for my K1 Visa. When i entered the USA at Miami the Immigration Officer opened my Brown envelope at my half an hour interview. He went through my medical told me i was very healthy. i was lucky..

Do i have to go and have another one complete for my AOS INTERVIEW , plus all the vacinations again. I HAVE READ NO as the year has not run out is this true. OR SHOULD I PHONE the number on 1 - 797C to check. Please can someone advice me as i,m desperate time is running out for my Interview on the 31st October.

    Thanks,

    Kath.

Your medical is still valid, but you need a vaccination supplement. Check the doctors (surgeons) in your area on the official USCIS site.... you may need to call several of them, since lots of them want to talk you into getting a new medical, which you don't need. Just tell them that you need ONLY the vaccination supplement form I-693A.

Do you have the vaccination worksheet from your medical? The DS 3025? It makes it easier sometimes, because then the doctor in the USA has only to transform the information from the DS 3025 to the I-693A.

  10. Well, the interview was today at the Baltimore center, and it was very easy and very short (about 10-15 minutes). The officer was very friendly :o : she only asked a few questions (right from the application),

a few minutes to explain the rest of the process and that was it! :D Eloyna was approved!

    Frank

    Congratulations :)

Glad to hear that the officer at the Baltimore center was very friendly.... I have to go to the Baltimore center too (in a couple months ;) )

  11. I was just going thru some threads and read someone sending the passport copies with the package. Are they needed or It's just an optional?

    ** I didn't include them***

    :(

Well the checklist here http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...mp;page=k1k3aos says: 4. Copy of the non US Citizen Spouses Passport (biographical page as well as entry stamps).

So yes, you need to send in the copy of the passport.

  12. man, after reading this I went back and did some checking.

on the I 864 form it says this

You may include evidence supporting your claim about yourexpected income for the current year if you believe thatsubmitting this evidence will help you establish ability tomaintain sufficient income. You are not required to submitthis evidence, however, unless specifically instructed to doso by a Government official.

But in a completely different place, not in the I 864 package but as a preamble it says this...

All sponsors must submit the following documentation with their I-864:

Proof of current employment or self employment

    How annoying is this!

I didn't send proof of her employer. If I get an RFE, i'll go ballistic. Hopefully whoever opens it will see her W2's, bank assets, real estate assets and realize that if we didnt work at all we still cover the poverty guidelines.

ARRRRRRRRRRRRRGHHHH...why cant they get their instructions clear?

Well I agree, these instructions are definetely NOT clear. But thanks for the information.... we will add then the employer letter to avoid any RFE

  13. You have to call all the doctors on the list, explain what you need done and ask them the fee, it varies.

Mine was $50, some pay more, some pay less, some pay nothing.

I also payed 50$ a couple of days ago.... just be patient when you call the doctors.... most of them try to talk you into getting a complete new medical  It took me about 6 calls to find a doctor who was willing just to fill out the vaccination supplement.
