LEAVE OF ABSENCE APPROVED!
For 8 weeks and they are going to pay me for 2 of those weeks as "vacation time".
Love my employer!
Now I just have to decide which days I should go, I can go May 12 - July 9 or June 5 - July 31 ... hmm ... I really want to be there for when his interview happens.
Hopefully Chile treats me well, at least I will be with my love ... and after this can we please stop spending money on airplane tickets!? lol

Wow, this 2nd thread has been growing fast. Since I got back to Europe in January, I haven't had too much time to check in regularly. Just like many others here, my fiancée and I are still waiting for NOA2 because we got an RFE. The RFE date was listed as February 1, but it took a good two weeks until my fiancée finally received the letter. USCIS wanted more proof that we fulfill the 2-year face-to-face requirement, so aside from the boarding passes, my i94, and a list of places and dates of our meetings, we submitted about 4 etickets, booking confirmations, and itineraries, passport stamps, and three pictures. USCIS received our package on March 14, and now we're waiting again... I really just hope, wish, and pray that we're approved any minute now; I must admit that this is taking a greater toll on me than I would have expected.
Good luck to everybody; I hope for all of us to be with our significant others very soon!

Hey everyone!
I had my consul interview earlier today and my visa got approved!
As long as the relationship between the two of you is real, there's really nothing to worry about, although I myself was worried the whole week before the interview and nervous AF when I was about to be called at the embassy.
Best wishes to everyone! We can do it!
"Someone" from this forum also got approved earlier! It was nice to be with a VJer during the process. ??????

I was absent during the weekend because it was my birthday, and my friends took me out to distract me from all the visa stress. Sure, at least our case was touched and RFEed last week, but still.
Being back, it's nice to see so many approvals - congratulations to all of you guys! I'm always very happy when I see approvals on here or the app.
Now, my fingers and toes and whatever not are crossed for JimJesDuma and Geowrian. Jim, you have been waiting for so long now, and you have been such an inspiration for so many people, not only in this thread, but also in others. Out of all of us, I guess, you would deserve your NOA2 the most - especially because it would be a much more relaxing flight over there. And Geowrian, what you have been doing is just huge and so useful for all of us here. Thank you so much, and I hope everything goes fast, smooth, and well for you, too.
Of course, I also hope that everybody else gets to see movement on their cases; we all know what it feels like to be waiting and up in the air with no information as to when the wait will be over at all. Lots of courage and energy - and PATIENCE to all of us. Here's to another week of busy USCIS adjudicators. May they keep working our cases at an ever greater speed.

I think the gorvement just care about if you pay enough tax for them hehehe. A social brother of me still passed the interview whilst his fiance lost her job for months and she was staying at home taking care of their new born baby. The CO asked him: DId you knwo your fiance doesn't have a job right now? How can she support you while you are there? He said: That's why I need to be there to help her, I will find a job. The CO: You promise me?. He said: I promise. Then the CO approved his visa

Thanks Amybeth. Yeah, that was stupid - and even more so because we already sent a petition earlier last year, but it never made it into the system... So, for me, an RFE is more of a blessing than a curse as I at least know that it's actively looked at (contrary to May - October when we had nothing).

I never thought I would be that happy with an RFE, but we've just got a notification that we will get one. Too bad that it will most likely just be because of one box we forgot to tick, but at least I know for sure that they're working on it now. I'll let you guys know what it was about once my fiancée gets the letter.
Hopefully, everybody will be approved soon
