"That's a shame" is an idiom - nothing to be shamed about but it is an unfortunate thing because besides marriage to an USC or the investor visa your friend does not have a path to immigration to the US.

I`m trying to apply for my brother to come and visit me on B1/B2 visa but problem is that next available appointment for B1/B2 at US Embassy is around April next year 2023. who should I contact to get his appointment sooner? Would Senator/Congressman involvement helps?

Hope all is with you guys!
Need help from folks who have already applied for US passport after Naturalization. My understanding is that we would need to submit Original Naturalization certificate ,DS-11 form, Driving license (photocopy) color passportsize picture along with $110 dollars fees. If we need to know submit original Naturalization certificate, I am afraid they will lost it just like they have lost my I751 greencard and still they could not find it? Also, Why do we need to make photocopies of these supporting document if they have already asked us to bring original copies?
 
How do we have to pay $110 fees through pay check payable to "U.S. Department of State" right? And also would USPS accept passport size picture from lets say CVS/walgreen (if I chose to use their passport size picture services) or I should just stick with USPS passport size picture services? Which one serves better? USPS would charge $35 as passport acceptance fees, does that include passport picture or USPS will charge us extra fees for pictures?
 
Last, how long does it take to get US passport and original Naturalization certificate?

2/9- Applied for Passport application at local USPS (Normal application)
3/1- Application received and in process
3/30-Application approved
4/1-Passport received
4/5- Passport card received.
4/14-Naturalization certificate received
 
 

They are not going to allow a Zoom call.  It is fair to punish you for your husband's reluctance to attend the ROC interview.  It's REQUIRED for him to attend.  Why should the laws not apply to you?

2/2/2020 - Applied at USPS (Denver, CO)
2/10/2020 - Received/In Process E-Mail
2/25/2020 - Approved E-Mail
2/25/2020 - Shipped E-Mail
2/27/2020 - Passport arrived
3/2/2020 - Passport Card arrived
3/12/2020 - Naturalization Certificate returned
 
I'm waiting to update my SS card and drivers license until Covid calms down a bit, but nice to have this all done

So 5 weeks after I have received my passport and passport card, my certificate FINALLY came back today!!!!!! I literally already gave up. My USPS informed delivery shows there's a mail piece that does not have an image, and it comes back in a big envelope. It's FINALLY OVER!!!!!😝 

Some things are better left unsaid....unless asked by immigration.

Ma'am just relax. Maybe it was equipment error. The card will get to you. Give it a week.

Take it easy and preoccupy yourself with other things. 

Per your statement, the card was picked today morning. Surely, it cannot be at your mailbox on the afternoon of the same day, even if you stay next door to the USCIS office.

so upon checking with local USPS office earlier today that my passport application has been delivered to Philadelphia passport center on Feb 15,2021! Not sure why the Passport customer service could not find it in the system. Cheque has been cashed yet!

The passport and my naturalization certificate were both delivered today, March 1st. The passport came expedited mail and the certificate by normal mail.

01/20/2020 - Applied at USPS (DC Metro Area)
02/05/2020 - Received "In Process" email
02/15/2020 - Asked for passport card too calling customer care
02/26/2020 - Approved email
02/26/2020 - Shipped email
02/28/2020 - Passport arrived

I was in the same situation and I totally understand it can be extremely stressful. Below are my timelinse:
Submitted application : Dec 16th, 
USPS delivered in Philadelphia : Dec 30th
Entered into passport app system: Feb 2nd
Passport printed and sent: Feb 22nd (still waiting for it to be delivered!)
I had no idea why the customer care couldn't find my application b/w Dec 30th and Feb 2nd, and was getting super anxious like you. But as long as your app has been securely delivered at Phili, you should be ok - its a waiting game from here on. Hope you are luckier than I was.
 

PA, but I believe my passport application was processed in NH, because that's what is on the passport envelope. You can check with the postal office to ask where they sent your passport application to, they should have a tracking record. If your passport application ends up being processed in New Orleans chances are you'll get everything back quickly as that's what other people's timelines here show.

I’ve heard someone waiting for a month before his/her status shows up. Hopefully yours won’t take that long. I would give it 1 or 2 more weeks before worrying. Just like my NC which stills haven’t been received 3+ weeks after my passport arrival, I’ve seen recently many people waiting for over a month before eventually receiving it. So no worrying for now, just annoyed a little bit. But again we re still in the pandemic so lots of stuff isn’t going as we wish, just take a deep breath and keep our fingers crossed. We’ll all get through this.

NC arrived today, 2/19. Informed delivery had the “mail piece ..no image” note.

1.  Your wife can not be deported for working under the table.  Illegal work is ignored for the spouse of a USC.
 
2.  BS on having any attorney on retainer.  
 
3.  I wouldn't give this lady any personal information; especially SSN.  The chances for identity fraud and opening financial accounts are high.

4.  Let it go.  No one has clean hands.  Your wife was working illegally.  This lady took advantage of that.  Just let it go and ignore her.  Is $1500 worth more BS?

My expedited passport application was received by the Passport Office on January 20. I received my new passport back via Priority Mail Express (I paid extra for this) on February 9.  I received my naturalization certificate back via regular first class mail on February 16.

100% agree. DOS/USPS would be responsible for that if you loses NC  Godforbid. They should be held accountable for their pathetic irresponsible job. Last month USPS lost my I751 GC and still they could not find it seriously and yet they have no courtesy to call me back with apology. USPS is run by joker and If it is upto me I would never apply for passport through USPS. 

Are the SSA offices open in your area? If not, I would wait until they re-open, as others have said the impact for not updating SSN record isn't huge.
 
Today, the mail person just came but still no NC for me. I'm not worrying too much but I'm a little upset/angry about the fact that they treat our critical documents as if they're not important to us, by mailing it back with first class and without a way to track where it is.
 
In case it really gets lost in the end, I will NOT get a replacement. I'll probably start calling and writing to the DOS and my senator, I will also file a police report and then move on, but I won't spend another year dealing with the immigration office to just to get a replacement that I'll probably never use again. I want my original NC BACK, because it has a special place in my heart, like you said I spent years to get it. I don't need a replacement when I already have my passport and passport card.
