  1. So, am sitting here and my husband walks in saying I received the NOA saying I got approved.

    The odd thing is:

    - I never received the e-mail from CRIS.

    - USCIS website still says "Petition Received" with no touches since February (day after my biometrics).

    - The address on the bottom of the NOA is of my Local Office in San Juan and not VSC.

Weird or not, letter says GC comes within the next 60 days, so now I'll just wait for it and hope I'm really approved.

EDIT: Forgot to mention, approval date is 05/29/09.

    Congratulations

  6. Hello

So as of today, it's been 14 months since I applied for Removal of conditions, 2 months ago I got a second Biometrics letter and redid my fingerprints, nothing since then,

I called to customer service today, the first lady transferred me to a higher up, who wrote a service request that says " This case has been pending for 14 months, please approve and issue Green card ASAP" That's what she said she wrote word to word.

Well does this customer service higher up have any weight to be sending orders like that?

What is wrong with my case? I didn't receive RFEs or any other requests, could it be the FBI name check, my I-485 was delayed as well!

I do have an Arabic name,

If you are still married to US Citizen go ahead and file for Citizenship. when u will file for citizen they will approve your I751 .

    Good luck.

  7. We had our interview on May 5th at 10am in the Sacramento, CA office. It was the worst experience of my life!

We arrived 30 minutes early and about 10:25 a lady came into the room and called my husbands name so we got up and followed her. She was dressed very oddly - short, tight pink mini dress with black boots. Don't get me wrong; I like fashion and she would of looked great at a club, but she looked out of place wearing that to work! We walked down a hall and through a few keypad doors ( Following the tightly clad pink bottom) and then walked into an office where she introduced herself as our interview officer!!! Yipes! She had us raise our right hand and swear to tell the truth and then we sat down.

Just to give some background, we had been planning to move from California to Ohio for about six months. We realized this would be during the filing time but thought it would not be a problem. My husband had starting working as a truck driver and the move was part of his job. We filed in Jan 09 and had Biometrics in Feb - then heard nothing so we decided to move at the begining of May. We gave notice at our apartment and found a new place in Ohio and set up utilities. We then received a notice on April 2nd that our case had been transferred to the local office for an interview. We talked to a few people who had been through the same thing and they said not to reschedule the interview because it could cause the whole process to start over and we might have to pay the fees again! We were totally freaked out and decided we would continue to move and fly back to Sacramento for the interview then change our address while there. Of couse on the week before we moved we received the interview date of May 5!! We had to drive across the country in the moving truck, get to our new place by May 1st, then fly back to CA on the 4th for the interview the next day. Hard and confusing, but we thought it was for the best. We were soooo wrong!!!!!

Back to the interview - The first question the officer asked was our address and of course my husband (who couldn't lie if you paid him a billion$$) says our new address in Ohio. The officer looks up very alarmed and asks us to explain. We go into the story I told in the last pargraph and how we are changing the address today as it is Tuesday and we moved the Friday before that. She was very rude and it seemed like she would ask questions and then not listen to the answers. She asked for the new rental agreement and evidence of our plane trip, which of couse I had not brought with us (stupid, I know) then she started looked through our file and was quiet for a long while. This was very hard to just sit there and do nothing but stress out!! She then asked me who I knew in Oklahoma????? WHAT???? Totally out of left field!! I explained my mother lives there and I lived with them after my divorce from my 1st husband. I gave her the address and she seemed ok with that. She was not understanding why the letter from husband's employer had a post office box in the letterhead and she acted like this was a big problem.

It just seemed like it was not an interview about if we had a real marriage or not it was about her own agenda!!! Most of the papers we were told to bring in the interview notice were ignored and I could see they were in the file she was looking through already--- Why ask us to bring them if they already have them???!!!!!!!!!

Finally she tells us that this case may be out of her juristriction and it may have to be transferred to Ohio! My husband asked is there anything we can do to help this be resolved withiout waiting longer. She told us to get the new lease and proof of the flight we took to get there and bring them in later today. She said to put the papers through a unoccupied window and she would let us know in 30 to 60 days. She then took the expired green card and wrote a three month extension in my husbands pasport. We walked out in shock. :crying:

You should bring with you all proof for new address. it's your mistake . but hopefully u solve the problem.

    Good Luck.

  8. Hi - I submitted my I-751 in February, but since then I came across some additional documentation to support my application - I sent it to the Vermont Service Center, with a cover letter asking them to add it to the package.

Has anyone else done this? Do you think the documents will be filed as requested?

    Hello,

It's not a good idea to send A new additional documentation without receiving RFE.But i hope if they can made it to your file.

    Good Luck

  9. Hello everyone,

My husband and I are preparing my removing conditions on residency file that we'll try to send by Monday 5/4/2009. (Actually 90 days started last week 4/26/09).

we have so many documents that show our continuing marriage relationship as:

    - A joint bank account

    - 3 affidavits from friends

    - Rental Lease

    - Rent insurance

    - Life insurance

    - Giving Birth to our baby girl

    - Documents showing our travel together to Morocco

    - Travels in the US

    - Taxes

    - Photos

    - etc....

However, I have a concern which is that the car & car insurance as well as the utility bills (water, electricity, internet, cable) are under his name showing of course the home address. And I receive my cell phone bill and magazines under my name at the same home address..

Will this "separation of names" be a "negative" point in our case??

Do you think I am late sending the package to Vermont??

Thank you in advance and Good Luck for All

You are good to go .

Jsut go ahead and file everything look good.

And wait long and long............. it's vermont center , slower center .

    Wish u lucky.

  10. Hi All,

I am not bragging so please don't slam us for this! I want to post this to help other people. And also to demonstrate how CIS doesn't work in order of date received. Granted we probably sent to much (even Kiva and YouTube!) but we were determined to send everything possible to prevent RFEs. A note on the photographs, we didn't send individually printed photos on photo paper (why waste the money?). Instead I ganged up 9 photos on an 8 1/2 x 11 and printed them with a color ink jet.

I must also say I am highly disappointed that President Obama is not in the president line-up on the back of the green card.

  11. Hi,

I received my NOA1 last week from my I-751 application and wondered if I need to give a copy to my employer?

I know it says my residency is extended for a year while my case is processed, but as there is no fixed date on the letter will my employer understand this?

Anyone have any experiences of giving this to an employer?

    Thanks!

If they didn't ask for it don't show it to them.

My company they ask me for new Green Card due to my old one will expire next week , When i bring them my extension letter , they don't know it . And they don't want to accept it as proof of my eligibility to work . And then they make me fill one form and sign it . And then they will check about it ......

So my advice don't say nothing or bring them anything until if they ask for it

    Good Luck.

  12. so i noticed in other topics, that it really doesnt take that long for the ASC appointment to arrive after I-751 NOA (a month or so?)..but i got my NOA nov 10, 2008 (the one where it says, that my resident status is extended for a year)! it's been 4 months..im really worried. is anyone else having the same problem??

also, how long does it usually take after the biometrics to get the aproval/denial?

    :(

Calling USCIS will not help anything they will tell u have to wait 45 days and we will do service request .

only thing that u have to do is . make infopass and go to ur local uscis office and find out about ur Biometric.

u should have ur biometric already.

    Good luck.

  13. I filed for my I-751 on 02/15/08 jointly with my husband, we are still happily married. I sent my Mortgage, life insurance, health insurance, my 401k, taxes 2005, 2006, 2 letters from friends and my sister in law, house taxes, bank account statem, ents of the last 2 moths. I did not send pictures because all are in my computer and did not think they will even look at them (like last time in my interview for AOS). I did received a biometrics letter on 03/26/08, i went and everything was ok. Because i did not received the extension letter I called 1800 and then is when they told me i have been transfered to Vermont (I did not received a actual letter), so i asked for a duplicate. I received the duplicate on April 19/08. Since then i did not hear from then, until i got woorry and my extension it was about to expire. I scheduled a INFOPASS appoinment last friday and there they told me my case was denied back in January (i have not received a letter as today) She also called Vermont from there and told me to wait, after an hour later Vermont called back and informed her that my case was in the clerical office (preparing the letter to be send) and that in the letter will explain the reason why i was denied. She did stamped my passport for another 60 days. We are desperated we do not understand why they will denied my case or why i have not received a letter or a explanation. She told me if in 30 days i do not hear from them i will have to come back.

Do anybody has heard about something like this before please advised us. We are worry. It really make me sad the idea of leave my Husband, my house, my family. My husband said he will go with me if i have to leave, but i do not think that is fair, He has a son from his previous marriage that i love like mine, and i know the kid need him too. We will have to start over again from Zero in my country, after working really hard to make this my home. I will really appreciate any advice.

She also told me that it could be something it will be resolved easy and she was really sorry that she could not tell me a reason or give me an advice or what to do.

Thank you VJ's and i really appreciate your best wishes.

    Sorry to hear that.

I don't think u can do anything right now. u have to wait and see what that letter says then u have to start from there.

U can contact ur congressman or representative , maybe they will help .

    Good luck.

  14. Well. After 12 months and one week after contacting my house representative. I get a letter, not rfe not an aproval. But biometrics. They want me to go and do my fingerprints again.

Does that mean I will be aproved after the fingerprints? So confusing. The office of my rep said my file was in someones desk a week ago.

My file was received by VSC on march 14 2008

    Hello, A khoya

That is ridicules u have to get your finger print done from new. extra money and extra time.

why all that . why just approve u .

    good luck akhoya .

Now, I sent my application on 08/20/2008, got my NOA and my Biometrics on September (sorry, can't remember the exacts days) and I've been carrying my extended letter everywhere I was going.

I was praying for a smooth and easy (no RFE or Interview) in my case and waiting for June 20th to start worrying 'cause is the average of 10 months for VSC to approve your case.

Well, somewhere up there might like me a lot 'cause in only 6 MONTHS I got approved!!!!! (by the way, my case was never forward to CSC)

So there's still hope for ALL OF YOU, don't give up!!!! I'll see you on the Naturalization Forum in June!!!!:dance::dance::thumbs::thumbs:
