It could go to another DHL facility near you. I am not sure about your city, but in ours the status reads "Out for delivery" when the package is actually out for the delivery to your address.

Our case was received at Mumbai Consulate.
Case status Changed to "Ready". I confirmed by calling Consulate. That was speedy. It left NVC on just 05/16 and received at Mumbai Consulate on 05/18.

Now on to the interview preparation. Good luck everyone at whatever stage of processing you are at.

I do not have the exact details, but some members got their Interview schedules the next day of their CC. It actually depends on when your Embassy/Consulate provides NVC with the available dates, how many slots are available with that Embassy/Consulate and how many cases before you are still waiting for interview schedules. I analyzed last few Interview date updates for IR1/CR1 on "India" portal, and deduced that it is taking around 9-12 days for NVC to schedule interview date (we were a bit lucky that ours was scheduled in just 7 days). I also deduced that recently, if the CC is within 1 - 15/16 of the month, you usually get your interview the following month. I encourage everyone to analyze their respective country's forums and go over the "Timelines" of recent Interview dates; this will give you general idea about how long it usually takes. I also encourage everyone reading this to keep their timelines updated; it helps others immensely. It also keeps the predictions accurate as it can be, given the number of VJ members. I had a hard time getting general idea, because 60-70% of the timelines were not at all accurately updated. Many of the members who were already approved did not even have timelines. VJ helps you a lot for your issues, you should also payback by taking a little time and keeping your profile updated. (Sorry for the long rant. It has been building up inside me because so many people do not update their timelines)

Also there does seem to be a pattern as to what interview date you get. My best guess would be, if you have same CC date, they schedule Interview dates based on PD (Priority Date, which assigned by USCIS). @reuben44 had the same CC date as ours, were scheduled the same day as ours, but their Interview date is 06/30 and ours is 06/13 (of course, we both have same consulate).

I just called NVC and confirmed that our case has been sent to Consulate. I noticed the Portal and Status changes this morning and wanted to confirm when our case was sent to consulate.

The CEAC case status and portal looks like this now. I am now able to see AOS tab again.

Just finished writing our review of the embassy. I made sure to detail every single step of the process inside the embassy, so anyone going through Buenos Aires will have a clear picture of what to expect.

Overall, very quick and efficient process. The people were friendly and the questions were easy. In and out in less than a couple hours. The majority of the time we were just sitting and waiting to be called in for the interview.

Those waiting for your interview, relax! You've made it through the worst and the interview is just the cherry on top.

We can figure that out by looking at checklist date and most recent scan date difference. It was just a suggestion anyway.
Adding notes is a good idea. People can write something they did incorrectly there and everyone can see it there, instead of scrolling through profiles and forums.

Just received P4 letter (Interview confirmation letter) via NVC email.

So relieved as I have been seeing many cases where interview scheduled received over phone were getting cancelled. I feel bad for all the people whose schedules were cancelled. I had already set up biometrics appointment and hotel reservation.

Stay strong everyone, your interview will be scheduled soon. Good luck.

Tanish reacted to Allie D in Please Check My Cover Letter for I-485 (from K1)?
I would apply for it just in case. There are no extra filing fees if you apply with your I-485 and the form is straightforward. There's no way to predict how long it will take for your I-485 to get approved. This depends on whether you'll be called in for a I-485 interview, how backlogged your local office is, and a variety of potential factors. Approval can take anything from a few months to over a year, even if you got here with a K-1 visa and have thus already been vetted to some extend.

Tanish reacted to SJG in How to Organize Your Documents
Let's face it, immigration involves endless paperwork and requires a lot of patience. As you dig through piles of documents, it is only necessary to be organize and clutter-free. I would like to share some useful tips as to how I kept my sanity through proper filing and arrangement of important documents.
    1. Always keep a file of all the forms you submitted, and the email notifications from NVC and/or USCIS. I print out 3 copies every time and arrange them neatly on separate folders. (One copy for me, one for my husband and a back-up copy). I also created a personal timeline in order to track down our case's progress.
    2. Before my visa interview, I neatly arranged my documents using color-coded folders and clear plastic separates. I also placed labels on every folder and printed a cover page for each.
Folder A - Affidavit of Support Packet contains husband's employment certificate, tax records and W2's
Folder B - Proof of Relationship Packet contains billing statements, receipts, email correspondence, money transfers, housing arrangements, contract of lease etc.
Folder C - Wedding photos, proof of travels, family celebrations etc

Plastic Separate 1 - Appointment Letter
    Plastic Separate 2 - Ds-230 & I-864 (original and photo copies)
Plastic Separate 3 - NSo Birth Certificate, Marriage Certificate, Police Clearance

Please note that in most US Embassies where interviews are held, the applicant and the consul are separated by a glass window with a narrow, 2-inch sloped slot - this is where you slip the documents they request to view. It is advisable to use FLEXIBLE folders instead of hard or spiral binds because they wouldn't fit.
    3. If you are married to an expat whose been working outside the States, you also need to produce Proof of Domicile.
[Domicile. Place where a person has his or her principal residence. The person must intend to keep that residence for the foreseeable future. The sponsor of an immigrant must have domicile in the U.S. before the visa can be issued. This generally means that the sponsor must be living in the U.S. In certain circumstances, however one can be considered to have a domicile while temporarily living overseas.]
We requested my husband's company to issue him with an employment certificate explaining the projects he's handling in Asia and the length of his assignment. On top of my husband's Income Tax Forms and W2s, I also included Form 2555 - Foreign Earned Income. All these documents I inserted in the Affidavit of Support Folder.
    4. On the day of your interview, it's always better to come in prepared and memorize important details mentioned in your forms. It's ridiculous if you would have to dig thru your documents every time you need to answer simple questions such as:
    - Petitioner's full name (emphasis on the middle name)
    - Place of residence in the States
    - Your petitioner's employment background
    - Wedding date, or the day you and your spouse first met
    - If you are constantly travelling, dates when you left and arrived in diff. country, and length of stay.
It creates a positive impression if you remember these things by heart.
    5. You have to remember that NOT every consul would like to view ALL your documents. In our case, the consul just asked for the wedding photos but she complimented us for coming in "extra-prepared." So yeah, it's a major plus to carry excessive amount of proof, documents and forms - than lacking.
To everyone who's scheduled for an interview, keep smiling and be charming! I hope you find this post useful and best of luck!

I'm sorry to hear about your family member's misfortune. Hope everything was sorted out.

It all depends on how you use it. Everything in moderation can be good and excessive can be detrimental. If you use it only to pay your bills, or pay off some furniture or any equipment with payment plan (with 0% interest, of course) then it would be beneficial.

All I would say is, before deciding anything based on anyone's opinion; do a thorough research about pros and cons and take your own decision.

Good luck and have a very happy and fulfilling married life ahead.
