Processing times and statistical averages mean nothing at this point.
I spoke with an immigration attorney today that is a friend of mine.
In his professional opinon, "OPINION", they will work the cases with RFE's coming in first and not according to NOA1 dates, ie. varying NOA1 dates in the approvals, and the NOA1 dates are not a good indication of the time frame our cases will be worked. He used to work for DOS and has a very good understanding of the internal processes. Also, it depends on the Ajudication Officer assigned your file for the exact order of processing, some will try to work by NOA1 but utlimately they are just trying to reduce the number of cases as quick as possible and not as worried about NOA1's until they get the case load back to a managable level.
Well, maybe we would have better luck guessing winning lottery numbers than guessing the date of our NOA2 approvals......
-
WHAT TYPE OF THINGS DO THEY REQUEST IN THE RFE ????? IS IT POSSIBLE TO CHECK ON STATUS BEFORE YOU RECEIVED A NOA1 . I USED A MONEY ORDER NOT A CHECK . SOMEONE PLEASE HELP
Be patient grasshopper. It will take them at least 7-10 days to send a NOA1. Once you receive it go to the USCIS website and register with your receipt #.
There is no way to check your status until you get the receipt. If 30 days passes from the day they received your package, a congressional inquiry will be the only way to find out what happend at that point. Stay tuned and let us know and we will walk you through the steps as they become necessary.
Patience is one thing you will need with this process. I am day 120 with no end in site, I we all have high anxeity and impatience. Find a diversion to occupy your mind and time.
Good luck.

YEAH!!!!
This is very positive. But still no rhyme or reason on processing dates. It definetly looks like a hodgepodge of approvals coming so who knows who is next.
-
Congratulations on the NOA2.
I would agree with Erik on the troll issue. I read every thread and am in the same position and we at CSC are vulnerable and sensitive. Just let it go and let's all make up and support each other. Our goals are the same. Sometimes people make mistakes, but creditiability of posts is important and we have seen many trolls in the past related to IMBRA.
Good luck everyone.

E-mail only. Let's hope that waste any time printing the notice, maybe they should save the paper and ink for NOA2's....lol
-
babybunny,
I was "one of them".
However, had you "read up" on the issue, before generating a thoughtless response, you would then understand. Get with the program, or don't bother to escalate an issue that does not even affect you.
some people are calling me a troll for telling the good news I got from CSC, well I do not have to prove a thing to anybody, it is real, i got nothing to gain than my baby will be coming soon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

CONGRATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have been reading posts here since February and starting posting I guess in June or so. Nobody has a problem with someone getting an approval, that is positive news. JenT and William33 are very supportive and contribute in many threads very positively. They are always willing to respond to redundant questions from newbies and help them along, because we all have been there. I think any judgement on them is way out of line and their skepticism is understood by those in the same position as them., which those that are being critical of their quick assessment is not. By the way, after further information was provided, they corrected themselves and apologized for the quick assessment.
I think the bottom line is we have received so much misinformation, we want verifiable facts before getting excited. Of course an NOA2 is good news and is welcomed. The dishearting fact still remains that their is no rhyme or reason to CSC's queing procedures. The fact is that is someone filed two months after you and was processed before you, do you see equity in those facts. We abide by rules and regulations hoping for a logical process but there is none when it comes to the post-imbra processing. We want everyone to get their NOA2's as fast as possible, it is not jeasouly on my part or JenT or William33, but recognition of potential inequities and derlication of duty on the part of CSC. Is CSC really giving approvals now and what is the real time frame say for someone with a NOA1 date of March 6 if someone in April has already received their NOA2.
USCIS and INS have always been based on priority dates. Priority dates are the most critical aspect in the processing and reciept of approvals, A#'s or green cards. So would you be happy if you were awaiting your Green Card and they decided to randomly pick priority dates past yours and bypass and not honor your priority date? I don't think so.

For those that don't t seem to comprehend the mentality of the troll comment, I will refresh a previous point that I made:
Just understand that the "First" Post-IMBRA approval was the critical milestone, to our understanding of this process out of CSC. Coming from a newbie raised "eyebrows". Certainly, a logical thought process.
From this point forward, you will not see this sort of "newbie bashing". It was all about the "First"
Post- IMBRA approval. I hope you and others do understand now.
I was wrong to call the OP a troll. But, it certainly did not stem from jealousy. I have and continually offer my sincere support to those approved, irrespective of the timeline. That is a fact.
I agree with you William33. I felt the same way when I saw it. No jealously, just skeptical, since CSC has no clue what they are doing and now an NOA1 date past march being approved, what gives. They are only processing on 3-6-06, right, who knows what they are doing with all the speculation of how they are going to process with the RFE's. By RFE return date or NOA1 date? or who's file is on top that day. No equity in their process for sure. He&& yes I want my file processed before someone who filed after me. That is not jealously that is equity. The system that has been in place for years in the processing order. So maybe I should file a new petition and it would get processed faster than mine after 4 months of waiting for nothing.
Again I think feel the same way William33. I am happy to see approvals and happy for the newbie. The frustration is not at OP, but at CSC.

Wonderful news! But.....is this #######? It says they are process March 6th on the website. Unless they made a big leap from July 19th update to today...? My date is April 11th? What gives? Granted, the received my RFE a few days after yours.
Done ranting...
Great news! :thumbs
I don't imagine I'm to far behind.
Right about the March 6 date on their website - but since RFEs were sent out randomly with apparently no regard for NOA1 date it seems everything there is no order now. She got her RFE on June 30 and returned it on July 3. My NOA1 date is March 23 and I didn't get my RFE until July 10. No rhyme or reason these days so we cannot rely on processing dates - only what progress and patterns we see here. In the end, the fact that CSC is actually working, processing and approving cases is the best news we've seen in months!
I feel for you kitkat1. My NOA1 date is March 29 and did not receive my RFE until July 10 as well. We are both at the 4 month mark and still no progress. Maybe we will be getting ours soon. Lets hope. Hang in there, at least something positive is happening.
-
I agree with Joseph22. My NOA1 date is 3/29. RFE date 7/11. Of course I was traveling to see my future wife while my RFE just baked in the mailbox. I sure he$$ hope they don't process by RFE date but honor the FIFO NOA1 dates. I am at 116 dates or so and this is ridiculous. My processing time frame was supposed to be 90 - 120 days. So I have 4 days or so for my NOA2. I would be happy if I get it before September though. Wishful thinking.
I don't think the senators offices know anymore than we do. They tell you whatever they need to get you off the phone.

Let's bombard this guy with IMBRA processing questions. Tell him we want them to know who should be held accountable for the IMBRA processing debacle; the huge delays at certain consulates; the wide discrepancies between VSC and CSC, etc, etc.
Let's fire tons of questions at him so he knows what is on the mind of us sqeaky wheels. He is new and probably has no clue as to what is going awry. He soon will
Here is where you submit a question: http://www.whitehouse.gov/ask/question2.html

Discuss Naturalization
Emilio González, Director of United States Citizenship and Immigration Services, will discuss naturalization and immigration policies and priorities Monday at 4pm (ET)
Here .. Here... Already done so. Also another thread is running in General K-1 discussion on the same. My statement and questions is as follows:
"My question pertains to the USCIS CSC service center processing of I-129F Petitions and the significant slow down due to the delay of USCIS in implementing the IMBRA regulations signed into law on 1/5/06.
What steps are being taken to alleviate the significant backlog of I-129F petitions?
Has the processing order changed from the NOA1 dates to the RFE received dates?
Can anything be done to better inform the US Citizens of the status of their cases and the procedures being performed to correct the backlog created by delay of USCIS in implementing the changes due to IMBRA?
Currently, many petitions are approaching 120+ days and have not been processed. As a US Citizen I agree that every precaution should be taken to protect our borders and immigration process. It is unfortunate that the passage of the IMBRA law was not adapted to in a more expedited manner and we as Citizens of the US are not receiving the customer service we would normally expect. This happens many times in private business as well. However, any communication on the steps being taken to mitigate the backlog and resolve the extraordinary delays in the processing is of foremost concern to us US Citizen Petitioners wanting to properly and legally petition to be united with our loved ones, respectively submitted.
Your responses and attention to our concerns are highly appreciated.
Sincerely
"

I submited a question too. I ask why the "California service center slower than Vermont service center in Fiance Visas"
Same here.... I did the same. Below are my statements made to him.

CSC finally acknowledge receipt of my RFE. They recieved on 7/11 and just now update the online status. Same e-mail everyone else received... Blah Blah Blah since preliminary processing has been performed Blah Blah less time than what is stated in this e-mail. However, there is no time stated in the e-mail. So I guess that means whenever they feel like it.
-
I got touched today by CSC.
Good for you. Now if they will start producing some NOA2's. Did you file with the new I129-f or the old version?
-
I agree with Gary. I only hope they will start picking up the pace. This madness can not continue. They have to be feeling pressure from the congressional and senator inquiries or maybe they are really as dense as we thought.
The congressional inquiries should be passed on to the omnibudsman (sp), so they will be held accountable for their poor service. I read on another thread that VSC was receiving some CSC cases to alleviate their workload. I doubt that though. We would have had at least one at VJ transferred if that was the case.
Let's keep hope that something breaks loose soon.
I'm gonna bump up the "how to contact your senators thread" on the imbra forum to make sure everyone from March and April at CSC contacts their senators!
Kitkat1 is right. Everyone from March and early April should be contacting there senators and congressman demanding results and answers to this debacle. My congressman's aid was nice but not very helpful, except to give the information I already have. She would not contact them until 30 days has passed since the receipt of my RFE.
My Senators are next. I have put my letter together and will be faxing with the privacy release for the inquiry.
KitKat1... you are always insightful and very proactive.... I like that.
Thanks

In prison, at least they get conjugal visits. We are being treated lower than a incarcerated criminal. Guilty before innocent.
A march and continued inquiries to our congressman and senators will have an impact.

You know, I am feeling a couple different ways right now: 1) I feel like I used to feel the day after Christmas when i was a kid...coming down off of an adreneline (and sugar) high and depressed because the day you had been waiting for all year was finished for another 365 days. I guess it is melancholic in a sort of way because I am in love, but also saddened because I am fully aware that this process is so damn long. And, I am not sure what to do about it. 2) I feel like my insides are a cyclone circling over the Bermuda Triangle and the basketball sized ball of emotion I have bouncing around inside of me and at any moment it is going to spew out in the form of tears, laughter, anger...well, you get the point. Here's the thing, we do everything we are supposed to do: we talk, we webcam, we share the little things, we eat meals together, we throw a few drinks back together...essentially, we do everything a "normal" couple does except stand in the same room together. But, sometimes even all of that effort doesn't work. Today...well, today is one of those days, I suppose. I am just "down in the dumps". Ok, enough self pity for me.
...just needed to blow off some steam... *tooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooot*
Realize that the power of your love is far stronger than any time and distance. This is a marathon and not a sprint, so exercise patience and understanding. I agree with you and feel the same way many days. By my concious self keeps reminding me how fast time does move and before we know it, the finish line will be here.
Hang in there and VJ is a great place to get the support we all need to make it through this journey.

I am going crazy! According to the confirmation from the USPS, my RFE arrived at the CSC on last Saturday, July 8, 2006. To date, I have not either received any e-mails nor is it showing up on the USCIS website that I have been touched sine July 5th. How long before I may hear something from the CSC notifying me that they have actually "officially" received the RFE? Is anyone else's taking this long?
I was hoping to have Rong here by this August, but now with this IMBRA business God only knows when she will be coming! Patience is not one of my stronger virtues and I believe this FUBAR IMBRA business would test the patience of Job!! Thanks for letting me rant and rave for a bit. I am soooo frazzled!
I am in the same boat. Our time lines are almost identical. I still have not rec'd e-mail notice on receipt of the RFE either. But it is taking CSC 7-10 days before an update, even if they update. But, I believe in the next 3-4 weeks we will receive our NOA2's. If things work logically. But it seems there is no logic to this process. Good luck, I want to have my SO here as soon as possible as well. But I think November my be a better guess or even longer given the state of processing times.
-
Sounds like an approval to me. Let's hope. CSC is very slow on the e-mail updates. Usually 1 week after they physically do anything with your file.
Let's think positive that this is an approval. Keep us posted. Valid dates of 4 months definetly sounds like an NOA2.
Congrats

This delay is totally unacceptable and illogical. Dwar49 is correct, this is a gov't agency that works for us, the american taxpayer. It even makes me more sick to realize that I am paying for such incompetence and derliction of duty. In my line of work, you would not have 1 client and would be on the street begging. Reasons and excuses mean nothing, a plan of action and solution mean everthing.
We have all encountered problems, but we in the course of our everyday lives, search for a solution and then implement it. The defintion of insanity, doing the same thing over and over expecting different results. Maybe they should try something new, like accountability and production standards.
I find it hard to believe that statistically speaking their have been no VJ's receive an NOA2 in the past week and even then only 3 or 4 in July. That is total bulls**t. Excuses are like assh**es, everyone has one and they all stink.... Forvgive my analogies...
Right there with ya Tex
thanks kitkat1. If was not for the support of all VJ's, I would have already gone insane. Sorry to vent, but it does help. I have to believe we will see some positive movement soon. I have contacted my congressmans office with the same responses that they have a backlog. No ###### sherlock, a backlog. I would have never guessed. I am now going to my senators and pursue answers from them. Does CSC have a plan to eliminate the backlog? What are they doing about? Can the accurately predict their adjucation of our cases?
I guess not, no leadership, no accountability.

Well if the information your congressman received is correct, I should have my NOA2 by this coming Sat, July 22nd. We shall see if this holds to be true. I am guessing no, but I would like to be pleasantly surprised!!
I guess I should get my by July 25 then. LOL.... I would bet against it in a heartbeat. There have been no NOA2's post IMBRA yet from CSC, but they are starting to popout of VSC like mad. I guess they want to yank our chains a little more. There just sitting there taking bets on how many of us go insane first with this madness.
