Hey guyz.... as ya'll know he arrived here on the 2nd. I thought I'd share his experience at the Atlanta airport.
Well, as per him, The CO (Mr. Little) didn't know anything/didn't know what he was doing? Seemed like he was new. After every minute he was asking others what to do. They didn't even take his fingerprints. Even when he asked him.. the officer said you are good to go. He was out in 10 mins... and We thought It would take him longer since its his first visit..... poor guy, had to wait for us at the airport, but i guess it was all worth it....
Catch ya'll laterz
Shalz
Why did you need the affidavit of support from your employer????
-
Hey guyz --- He's finally here. and yeah i m in atlanta and so is sudhir
-
well, like i said before -- VFS in delhi sometimes make an exception for some and accepts the documents even a day before.
-
Sudhir --- Where is she flying from? and let me know her name also.... take care

I've got another question for ya'll who have filed AOS
like i mentioned b4 i will be filing AOS in a month or so:
so, my fiance tried to get the duplicate of his medical from the dcotor in India, and she simply refused and said the embassy will give you the brown envelope which will be turned in to the uscis (i don't know how much of it is true) anyways, I have heard people saying that the medical exam is good for a year... so If i file my AOS within a year, does he have to go thru the full medical exam.. if not, then what sort of an exam he has to get it done????
Thanks
-
I will be filing AOS for my fiance in a month or so....I was wondering If I could use the form I-864EZ since i am the only sponser.
-
heyy, even i live in the gwinnett county.

Delhiguy --- Aren't you in Delhi??? If yeah, why don't you just go there and ask them????? instead of wasting your energy on emailing them
Thanks. Shalz.Well, the embassy page for K-1 states that I would have to get the police certificate from my local district police station, so I hope I dont want to have to go to Mumbai, although i was looking for someone who had go their packet 3 and packet 4 and had this same problem. In fact, maybe I don't really, becasue I just got my new passport made, so I might not need any police cerftificate.
Thanks for all the info guys, I did mail the embassy a couple of times in the past 2 days but they never answered my mails so I will just keep my fingers crossed that I don't have to do too much running around and just write down my Mumbai address, which I think is fair since I shouldn't hide anything from them.
-
2. My permanent address is in Delhi, which is also on my passport and is my current address. However, I have stayed in Mumbai for 2 years during the past 5 years. My lawyer (not very confident about his response) has advised me to just add my permanent address even though my job history clearly shows Mumbai. Two questions would be:
a) Should I show the Mumbai address on my biographic form?
B) Will they ask me to get a police certificate from Mumbai for those 2 years, or will my passport certificate and current address police certifcate be enough? Please keep in mind that I have a new passport so maybe I wont need the police certificate?
Delhiguy -- Since your job history clearly shows that you have worked in mumbai...Yes, you will have to write that address on your biographic form (G-325A). and yes you will also have to get a police certificate from mumbai. It clearly says on there website if you go under K-1 and read the instructions for "police certificate".
you are good to go if you cut your mumbai job out of your job history. your choice what you wanna do.
can't answer your other question... since i didn't have to go thru that. but like I and KP said before, The US EMBASSY IN DELHI can answer that question for you.

Ahhh, what a relief !!!!! mann she did prove that she'z a punjabi.
Delhiguy, recent developments have really started me wondering now :-). My wife went to the Chandigarh passport office again yesterday and REALLY created a ruckus, talked to the regional passport officer (senior most guy) and got the PCC in her hands by the evening. She was able to do this without an agent and got pretty pis*ed when I mentioned the word "ghoos".So, thanks to ALL of you for the suggestions and ideas -- getting an agent was the next step, but it all worked out. Appreciate it.
Now for the serious thing -- if she was able to barge-in to the office of the "main man" through all the guards with the attitude "if you touch me I am coming back with the media" and "none of you guys can stop me from seeing the most senior guy", then I think I am doomed <gulp>. She is indeed a Punbabi kudi
But I am so happy that she got the PCC and passport.
KP
Well, I dont know if she had her advertising campaign set on me or not, but I am still very very happy that I won't have someone's temper to deal with everyday And for your hubby and KP and Shalz's hubby, what can I say:
A picture is worth a thousand words

Radha -- Calling them won't help. because they never do answer their fones. Go to Embassy info... and choose Mumbai... and there's an email address where u can email them and ask.. but make sure, you write your NVC case number as a subject.
Good luck with that
Shalz

Delhiguy -- If you put that address there.. u know u will have to get the police certificate from mumbai too.
-
Timesnap --- didn't u say he got the clearance???????
Oh I see ....Thanks Shelz ..... We will be going to VFS Delhi only most probably early next week after he gets his clearnace -
Timesnap -- When my fiance/husband went to the VFS in Chandigarh... They said they wouldn't accept the courier fee nor the documents.. because you have to submit that 10-15 days prior to your interview. Even after arguing they didn't listen. and then I emailed the embassy and explained the situation... and the embassy told us that we could contact the VFS in delhi.. so we did... and they told us we could submit it there... so my fiance went there to pay the courier fee and they didn't fuss about submitting all the documents. I guess we got Lucky, huh????
Plus, our story was different.... when we got the interview letter, we only had 10 days left... and he still had to get his medical done... tho he did have all the other documents in his hand.
Any of you tried VFS in delhi.

Thanks STINA.
just a quick question --- when u file I-485, do u file I-130 as well?????
Holy #######, they're just transferring everyone this week!
Congrats!
Nope, not for K1.

Don't tell me she went to chandigarh...cuz ppl there dunno anything
You know -- these guys at the VFS office are such jerks -- when my wife went there to ask them a few questions, they told her that if she does not submit her documents, her interview will be cancelled. I cannot believe they would have the audacity to say something like that on behalf of the US consulate because it clearly states on the embassy website that it is strongly urged that people submit the documents at the VFS office.KP
And as far as I understand it it is not even necessary to submit all the documents. If that is the case, isn't it worth to just hand carry the documents ...We are thinking of hand carrying the documents i.e. if we can get the police certificate .....
He got the passport clearnace today after paying 1500 to an agent ! Thank God ....

let me tell you a little story. not related to this.
My brother's wedding was on the march 30, 2006. and he came to india on the 24th, so we were shopping at raymonds in Patiala. We bought about 4 suits and the amount we had to pay was about 16176 in rupees...can't remember the exact figures now... but anyways so i gave him 16000, and then he goes.. the 176.. im like what u talking about???? mann there were too many people in that shop ... and I just started yelling and all.. im like you want that or you want your suit's back. He kept on mumbling.. ma'am we have already given you 10% discount and can't give no more....and i was like, for the last time im gonna ask... 16000 or the suit's ... and my brothers, my sister in law even my hubby left me there by myself.. they didn't wanna be there as i was about to have a fight with that guy.
So, as you know I was born and raised in punjab. meri bhi aadat hai... agar ladai karni ho kisi se... im the first one start off.....

Shalz -- nice secret <grin> -- that's amazing that they couldn't register the marriage in India. Well, congrats on getting your hubby back -- now put him to work Go ask him to fight for defenceless women in India who are being harassed by passport office employees in Chandigarh
Yeah I told my mom...after he's done with his DDS ..i ain't working anymore. HE SAYS THE SAME. (got a good, caring, and understanding hubby ) but, we do fight alot. mein toh choti choti baat per gussa ho jaati hoon.

Bechari meri bholi-bhali biwi se ghus dilwaoge

Thanks Shalz -- she is getting some reinforcements (her brother) tomorrow morning so I'll ask her to go to this mysterious building next door and go talk to the vultures.

Gupt0014,
looking at your timeline, you are going thru New Delhi Embassy..So, you only need one original employment letter.
Mine wasn't even original... I had them faxed it to me and they still accepted it.
