    Hi,

Ive been reading EVERYTHING I can on both the K1 and CR1 and I’m torn between the two.....I love the idea of us getting married but the wait time for the CR1 will be hell....

Would people please give me their opinions on both...good and bad

The wait time for K-1 is pretty long right now as well, plus the beneficiary won't be able to work for quite awhile once they enter the US as they must apply for adjustment of status and wait about a year to get a green card, probably about 5 months or so of that before they can get the authorization to work or travel outside of the US

If I had it to do over again, I'd probably go ahead and get married first and do CR-1. We're currently waiting on NOA2, we filed back in mid November.

Hello I am about to send my I-129F form tomorrow. I was reading the 'K1 Fiance Visa Process Flowchart and Timeline' guide and it says the following "Send postage with an return receipt requiring signature when it is delivered".....i am confused by that? I need to send return postage to the Dallas PO box???

That's not what it's saying, it's saying send it some form of certified mail so you get a receipt from USPS that it was actually delivered

  3. Edit: maybe I'm wrong...

I would write down your legal name as of the date you are signing the documents. It's not good to put anything else. You should be filling it out with information as it is the day you fill it out and sign it, as you are attesting that all the information is true and accurate. It would not be true or accurate if you put a name that is not yet legally yours.

You can wait to sign and submit the documents, or you can send an update at a later time / fix the issue at interview time.

If you do, do you include financial statements in your F-129 package?

I support my fiance, but I included nothing about that in our I-129F package. I included proof I meet the income requirements, and that was it. They don't need to know how much I do or do not spend supporting my family-to-be. I also wouldn't try to say "look how serious we are, because I send her money!" because that doesn't prove anything of the sort.

No news so far. I got a notification from the app saying case update and when I checked it just said the case was received. I then checked both old and new website,  and no update yet. But again we still have rest of the day left. Nov 8th old website and Nov 10th new website. All the best to everyone.

I think they will start November 8th today, with the notification you got I htink chances are high something happened for you. Now if the old or new website will update, who knows... but I'd check your mail for the next week!

There are no numbers for 2018 here. I went 2017 down. Every year there are less applications filed around the 1st of the year. That is a good thing for us who filed aeoubs that time give or take a couple months. At least I am thinking so :D

    To each their own thoughts!

I happen to see the 2018 ones the other day so I was referencing them even though you didn't post them sorry for the confusion.

I think the important number is how many they are finishing, not how many come in :) They are processing less than come in, and there's a backlog... so it's actually getting slower!!!  Until they start to process faster than they are coming in, it will continue to get slower as the backlog increases.

  7. A list of things we submitted up front:

    • The I-129F of course
    • 10-20 pages of chat logs (few days each month)
    • Skype logs (summary totals)
    • 10 photos, dated, signed, and explanation on the back
    • Letters of Intent to Marry  / Our Story. We each did one and signed and dated it
    • Filled out the I-134
    • Employment Proof letter from my work
    • Last 2 years W-2s
    • Passport Photos
    • Copy of my passport (I sent every single page to be thorough)
    • Copies of receipts, boarding passes as additional proof of travel to her country
    • Birth certificate for me
    • Copy and translation of birth certificate for her & her daughter
    • Copy of hers and her daughters passport
    • Certified copy of my divorce decree

    I think that's it...

Hello community. My friend submitted their K1 document about 5 months ago and they haven't received a response yet. I did this process in early 2016 and it took about 4 months for my fiance to be here in the states with me. Does anyone knows any information about how long is is taking now?

They say that their case might be in AP so it is why it is why probably taking so long. I don't remember having any AP thing in my case. Can anyone elaborate?

They want to know what are the other expenses, after the submission of papers. Like the interview, medicals and then applying for residency when arrive to the States. I know I paid my lawyer for the service but never bothered about the details of what each thing costed? Like a break-down to pass it onto them?

If this is relevant, my friend's fiance is from Jamaica.

USCIS is currently finishing up October K-1 applications and just now getting started on November; there's even a few June through September cases still lagging.  If they only submitted 5 months ago, they probably have 2 more months to wait until they get to the next step (NOA2).

Sooo, in my spare time on this Sunday evening when I'm missing my honey, I revisited a thought/discussion that I had earlier this year. I went through the last 5 fiscal years of petitions to find the quarters with the lowest amount of Fiance Petitions. Consistently they are late year/early year petitions which means we could see a bit of a speed increase coming up :)

That is my thought and I just wanted to share it. Maybe it's wrong but I really don't care, lol. I need positive right now!

Oh, and you can see the total number of forms received (all types) and same goes for those (1st or 4th ... so Fall and Winter) That's us coming up!!!!! Hopefully they can catch up a little bit. I mean, maybe at least they could be more right on with our timelines and not go past :D :D I would LOVE that!

It looks like they just keep slowing down, and the number of pending cases just keeps going up.

The number of forms received isn't significantly more for the 1st quarter of 2018; it's just USCIS keeps getting slower and slower.

Important Question: I just found out I might be able to qualify for expediting the K1 visa process because of financial loss. I wish I would have known this earlier, but I was so busy with very large intense work projects. I can't afford for this process to go on for months longer than what I was expecting because, recently my Filipina's job ended and this week needed medical care. I am having to pay for all of her expenses, housing, food, clothes, etc and this week she had to have unexpected surgery. My NOA1 date is Nov 10th but I am taking a larger financial hit with her surgery and she will need more care. What is the best way to approach to get my case expedited. Should I call my senator, call USCIS directly or are there other options. Who knows maybe I will get approved this week but I can't afford to anymore of a financial hit if this process by chance takes months longer than originally expected. Thanks

At this point your probably best to just wait it out, you're almost there and an expedition request could just throw a monkey wrench in it and take even longer at this point.

Additionally, I believe it has to be the US Citizen on the edge of financial ruin and something the spouse would be able to help out with, not the other way around.

Hello there everyone, Is it just me but is everyone having issues signing in to the new website? Every time I sign in it says enter your one time password. Every time I sign in I have to enter my supposedly  one time password  Is there a way around that? Well anyway hope by the end of this month most November filers get their approvals. 180 days and waiting.......

I haven't found a way around it.  I just make sure to have my phone handy.

I think these are the NOA2s for December filers that are being referenced.

Interesting. It's hard to say. I've seen people in the threads call themselves X months, when the received date based on the WAC number and original received date was the previous month, but 15 days in to december would be unlikely to be that scenario. We did see some strange November 16th cases get approved about a month before they even started on the rest of the month, so knowing USCIS anything can happen!

I try not to put too much stock into a case here and a case there getting approved. To determine if they started the month, I think it's better when you start to see some real movement on cases than just a random few.
