Filed May 27th 2023, based on 3 year rule.
Bio Reused.
Notice of Interview July 12th 2023
Interview August 25th 2023Office is Chatsworth, CA
We live in LA county, thought it would take us forever, since the application said it could take 9 months.
This is going to sound stupid, but how were the reading, writing and speaking English part go? I know my hubs is afraid of that part. -

They didn't specify any reason in the denial notice?
Ths Russian passport in and of itself shouldn't be an issue, but yes, the unsolicited evidence always helps (granted that you don't submit a mountain of it).
I couldn't find it anywhere on the husband's USCIS account giving a reason for the no. The document that I saw stated this
"TRAVEL NOT AUTHORIZED
Your travel authorization has been denied and you are not authorized to travel to the United States under the Uniting for Ukraine process. For more information about alternative pathways that may be available to you, please visit this U.S. Department of State resource page at
https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/News/visas-news/information-for-nationals-of-Ukraine.html"
Followed by the wife's personal information: DOB, Alien Number, Passport Number and Status.
If we (my hubs and I) were to supply the evidence, we didn't know or it was just simply over looked, I even tried to look on line before hand and couldn't find info till a few days ago. We thought the husband and the wife would have to upload that part since I wasn't given any direct section to upload it to USCIS.On 6/23/2023 at 9:58 AM, Boiler said:So was the wife applying on the basis of being married to a Ukrainian, or being Ukrainian.
What evidence was supplied to support either one?
I don't know what was asked on the husband's and wife side. It looks like he added them as a "travel group" so I assume being married to a Ukrainian.
Sorry got a bit busy with real life and forgot to hit "submit reply" -
Here is my situation, hopefully someone can help with this mess.
Hubs and I submitted petitions for 3 people, its his friends (husband and wife, wife has a child from a prior marriage. ) Husband is Ukrainian, so is the wife. Wife's Ukrainian passport has expired and has it in her old married name, since then she has gotten Russian citizenship. We tried to apply U4U using her Russian passport, even thought her bio info, at least from our side, stats she was born in Ukraine.
All 3 petitions were approved on My hubs and my side.
The husband travel docs were approved, the wife was not approved, and the child is still pending.I'm thinking that the government doesn't believe they are married, and hence the denial. Pretty sure she would be approved if she had a current Ukrainian passport. They don't think they can get her an updated passport mainly because they went into Russia, so they want me to see if we can use her Russian passport and get her a new Ukrainian one if/when she enters the USA.
My hubs and I didn't help him with their side.
I did some research (tried to find websites, YouTube, and even this forum and thread pages 1-21 and 47-51), but some random website said to upload their marriage certificate after we submit the i-134a as some unsolicited documents.I'm assuming we need to resubmit all 3 petitions again, and make sure I just upload: the marriage certificate, the divorce certificate, and the birth certificate with possible a letter explaining their situation. (They will bring a letter from the ex husband giving permission for the child to leave Russia before they leave)
My hubs and I are planning having him share PC screens when he fills his side out to make sure we aren't some how missing something.
Anyone have any thought?! -
Just submitted my Hub's N-400 petition, would have done it sooner but needed some documents and him sign papers for translations. He sadly was on a business trip out of state for over 2 months. Within the hour we got his Receipt Notice and them reusing his BIOs, thankfully since he had to go back out of state for business for the next 5 weeks
Really hoping this business trip wont hurt us. He was here at home for 10 days before going back.
I'm excited since soon we will finally have the same country!

Good news!
It is good news, everyone has been stressed out, even put in expedites with no luck. They(ex-wife and daughter) have gotten hurt at work and lost what little work they were able to get in Poland, their employer even took the money that Poland sent for them. =\ We sent them extra money to make sure they were able to take a few weeks off from work to let them rest. Even over the summer time her mom and her applied to move to Canada, they got approved, and last month they got their passports stamped for them to be able to move there, then we got this news, even thought I was highly encouraging hubs to push them move to there =\ Hubs has been trying to contact an immigration lawyer that is related to his manager, we haven't gotten a reply back from them at all. (Been at it for nearly a month now) Glad we don't need that now.
His ex-wife even planted the idea into their daughter's head that we don't want her to be living with us and if we did she would have been already living with us. That really P. me O. I had to reinsure that we do in-fact want her to live with us by showing her bedroom that we made sure we had when we were house hunting a year ago, and me showing her all the goodies I have gotten her in the mean time, and how excited I was planning things out with her in mind.
I have been depressed since I felt like I messed up somewhere. I also been feeling horrible at the fact that I have been couponing and getting her things (Make-up, hair care, etc) she might like and a month ago I came to the realization that these things might not be good when she would arrive; this was assuming that we might be a year out. I'm just happy now I can really shop for her and know there is a super slim chance of her being denied and she will be able to live here where its safer-ish. But at least she wont have to share a small room with a few other familiesI'm glad I will be able to give her that at least.
PS Hubs is hoping to get her here before Christmas.... -

I just hope they are getting their documents in order that I have been bugging my hubs about for the last few months =\ (Aka Polish Police Certificate, we had to reorder a new Ukrainian Police Certificate since his daughter went back into Poland AFTER that certificate was issued.)
Sorry I made the mistake of saying the wrong country meant to write Ukraine, not Poland >< Been trying to get a hold of his daughter has been like pulling teeth.... Teenagers I tell you. On top of that I guess she has been sick =\

I know this is NOT IR1/CR1 info but an IR2 update. This week my hubs and I got an email stating that his daughter is finally getting her interview in Warsaw for Dec 19th. We were DQ'ed on Sept 20th 2022.
I just hope they are getting their documents in order that I have been bugging my hubs about for the last few months =\ (Aka Polish Police Certificate, we had to reorder a new Ukrainian Police Certificate sine his daughter went back into Poland AFTER that certificate was issued.)
Timeline (Sorry I don't remember all the dates off the top of my head)June 7th 2021: IR2 submitted via online
Feb 16th 2022: I-130 approve
April (Early) 2022: NVC number for Frankfurt in April and request to be xfered to Warsaw (I feel like I messed up since now it feels like she would have been here sooner if I didn't request an xfer)
May (late) 2022: Xfered to Poland
July 18thish 2022 Submitted doc at NVC after giving up on trying to get a Ukraine Police Certificate and wrote a letter explaining why there is a lack of,Sept 20th 2022 they wrote saying letter is fine but try to get it and scan it to the website and bring it with her to the interview.
Sept 20th Document Qualified.
Nov 9th 2022: Interview is scheduled for Dec 19th 2022 at 8 am.
Only took 530 days for us from summation of documents for I-130 for her to have an interview date =\PS The petition was submitted by me and not my hubs in hopes of a faster processing time compared to if we had done it via him.
PSS. My hubs daughter is Ukrainian, and fleed to Poland in Feb 28th or so 2022. I really wish I could have two different time lines tied to my account =\. Hubs ROC was approved but somehow I can't get the timelines to show it.

I tried calling that number to make sure there was nothing wrong with the docs I posted, CEAS site says its still waiting on docs from me....
I had requested an expedite on Monday early morning, and got this as a reply:Dear Sir/Madam:
Thank you for your patience. We sent your request to the U.S. Embassy or Consulate in POLAND. However, they cannot expedite this case. To be fair to all applicants, the Department of State schedules immigrant visa interviews in the order that the cases complete processing at the NVC.
We will continue to work with you on this case. After we receive the required fees and review the documents, we will schedule a visa interview appointment."
It sounds like the reasons why I requested don't matter but they are refusing to expedite people's interviews. -

Thank you very much for your reply. The situation is quite different now because of war. I could easily get the certificate before this. But situation can change every day! Is your step daugther is still in Crimea?
She was in the mainland Ukraine when the attacks started and fleed to Poland a week later. She is currently there and is hating every moment of it. Trying to see what valid reasons we can get her case expedited, besides she is a minor and a bit of a fear that she could be kidnapped. But tensions are running high for her mom and friends. I'm unsure how much of the changes are, I just know it was a bit of a headache to do his paperwork, I just placed USSR on his documents to just match what his birth certificate said and let the US government deal with it. His 2 year green card got Ukraine written on it and the IO at his ROC interview changed it to USSR. I just flat out tell my husband to just go off of what the government documents say.
My husband has a friend that is stuck in Kharkiv that is trying to see if he can help us with getting my stepdaughter's police certificates just incase NVC demands them. Its so sad, this friend had just visited us and went back home only a few weeks later to have the attacks start and now he can't leave with his family. He is alive and doing as best as he can with what he has. -

There was one person (Russian) who was from Crimea, unfortunately cannot remember the username. But since he was a Russian citizen, I guess he was not in the same boat? It was some years ago, so hard to say.
That would be my husband, we contacted a lawyer to get his, I think we paid him about $100 or so. I am not 100% sure if this is current information, but it was as of April 2018. (Posting is signature via the emails). My husband was able to use him to get his Police certificate for Ukraine for when he lived in Moscow. He is a native born from Crimea, so I know the BS you are having to deal with. He's Ukraine passport is expired and he does have a Russian Passport as well. (only came across this post since I'm seeing there were any updates for Ukrainians getting their Police certificates. I guess for now its a written letter saying we aren't able to get it, signed and dated by us =\Trying to get my step daughter moved over here still.... sigh. Immigration can you know what in the you know what.) I don't know if anything I'm posting below helps you out, I do hope by now you have gotten some type of answers.

We got our NVC numbers this afternoon via email (no phone call on my behalf), its for Germany, and now hubs is trying to confirm with them (Ex wife and my step Daughter) that if they want it moved to Poland or kept in Germany. Within the NVC website I have a message dates March 6th 2022 8:21:44 EST stating:
"A change to the assigned post has generated a new case ID
Due to the suspension of immigrant visa operations at the U.S. Embassy in Kyiv, Ukraine, the U.S. Department of State has designated the U.S. Consulate in Frankfurt, Germany to process all visas."

I search for NVC and State.gov about 3 times a day, even on weekends; when I wake up, about mid day for me, and before I go to bed. His daughter and I haven't received any emails, and I filed our petition online, its the correct email since I got the notification about her petition approved there as well. When I did hubs petition it took us about a bit more than a month to get his NVC number. I even advised his daughter to keep an eye out for NVC and keep searching for it each day. I'm just hoping ours took a bit to be sent? I feel like I should give it till Thursday, if I hear nothing I should call them.
Thank you for the link, I don't even recall seeing that when I was dealing with my hub's petition.

With all that is going on in the world, I feel a bit overwhelmed everywhere to figure out when to request Warsaw to take ownership of my step daughter's IR2. Petition was approved Feb 16ish and sent to NVC a bit afterwards. Everyone; hubs, his ex and his daughter keep asking me about my step daughter's petition and if we are really going to have her immigrate here. Hub's ex keeps having doubts that we are since immigration is taking, in everyone's eyes, forever. I keep trying to explain it to them over and over the process. I feel like they think I am holding up this petition when I am not.
Please correct me if I am wrong, and I really hope I am wrong.Do I need to wait to be assigned a NVC number in order for Warsaw to take ownership? Or could I send an email to Warsaw with our IOE or USCIS case number asking them right now to take ownership?
Is there anything I can do to expedite this case at the NVC or waiting on interview at Warsaw? (I highly doubt it, with the millions that have fleed. And I still think she is ahead most people on this path.)
I'm pretty sure its buried somewhere on these forums. I just want something that is concrete or to help me pointing in the right direction.
PS Step daughter was asking if her dad was going to send documents to the embassy =\ I have told my step daughter that she should be getting an email from the government(NVC) with the new number when its ready to go. I have even sent her a link to these sub forums so she is able to read the sub forums incase I missed something. -
I would have mention more about the child support part, now I guess afraid to even have hubs go to Russia out of fear his ex takes him to court for not paying.... assuming he can even get there in the first place. His ex relies on the monthly child support to her each month.
I really hope this administration realizes that there is a decent Russian and Ukrainian community in the US, and all they are doing is (insert curse word of choice) over these people.
-
I'm really hoping we are able to send money to Russia, how in heck are we to support children from prior marriages? Or pay our loans we have over there? I guess we lose out on our homes, etc.
If we are unable to send money to his child... I really hope this doesn't bite him in the you know what when he goes for citizenship soon.

That's great that she was approved!
I am in the same boat with my mom waiting for her police clearance, she applied through app "Diya" but has not heard back. Let's stay in touch.
Is it possible to give a link or write out the name in Ukrainian? I do want to pass along this information to my husband so he can talk to his daughter.
-
I don't mean to steal the thread, unsure if it counts as being on topic....... but it do have a question about police certificates... My step daughter just, as in the last hour, finally got out of Ukraine, and into Poland. We are unsure how long they will be there for, but how will she get around getting her police certificates if she stays in Poland till she has her visa interview? Our petition got approved on February 16th, and according to the USCIS website it stated that they sent her case to NVC on Feb 19th. When we got to this point in my husband's petition, we started getting his police certificates.... is it possible they might be waived due to the crisis? Yes she is over 16, and turning 17 in May.

So I am reading the security post on Ukraine's website, (https://ua.usembassy.gov/security-alert-attack-on-ukraine-022422/)
On February 24, 2022, the Department of State suspended consular operations in Lviv, Ukraine, following the suspension of consular services at the U.S. Embassy in Kyiv on February 12, 2022. U.S. citizens seeking emergency assistance and those who decide to remain in Ukraine should complete this online form and the State Department will respond. The U.S. government will not be able to evacuate U.S. citizens from Ukraine. Please review what the U.S. government can and cannot do to assist you in a crisis overseas. U.S. citizens may seek consular services, including requests for repatriation loans, passport and visa services, at U.S. Embassies in the following neighboring countries.
I'm wondering if we are able to use the above countries for visas. My step daughter's petition at the USCIS was approved on Feb 15th and we just got her approval letter yesterday, and now we are confused on what to do next besides the normal NVC stuff. Hubs keeps asking me if there is away to get her sooner, like refugee status etc. I still think the faster way for her is the approved i-130 petition. SIGH.

For originals, I got stuff sent to us snail mail so I wouldn't have to print them, plus there is a digital copy on the companies website's. We lost some past mail from family members and other documents during the move
His parents flew out from Russia to see us and they flew in early and helped us move. Found out his parents were throwing out papers that were to be kept. Only found this out when I saw my expired Health Insurance card (was used in the I-751) in the recycling bin a few weeks after we moved. I literally had boxes of mail or anything that had our names tied together put off to the side and physically moved them to the house myself.
Joint:
monthly mortgage payment bill, original
Trash bill, original
Water Bill, originalBoth bank accounts used as evidence from the I-130 petition, with statements taken from every 3 months after I-751 was sent.
Car Insurance
Home owners Insurance bill.Heath insurance cards printed from their website.
Health insurance tax form showing we both had the same coverage for the year 2021.
Registration for the car we have a loan for in both names.
Supplemental tax bill for buying the house......
Tax transcripts since the year we got married, even when I filed separately for the 1st 2 tax years.
Copy of current state driver's license with out the new address (they were updated on the state's website but don't send out new ones for change of address or some bs type thing)
Some mail from one family relative saying Mr and Mrs (my version of the last name)
NM tax department asking for more info and oddly using my last name even thought I wrote his version of the last name on the taxes.
Separate:
Gas in my name
Electric in my name
Internet in his name
Water filtration loan in his namePS After this we plan on filing for his citizenship since it opened up nearly a month ago, just had other surprised bills popping up.
We got to the interview location in LA, the guy that checked us in was awesome, nice and friendly. As we sat for our number to be called, others were being called for different numbers and I noticed their callers had files that were easy to carry...... When it was finally our turn, we were taken to a different door compared to the rest, and was told to sit down infront of a clear pixy glass. On the desk was a stack of paperwork, about 5 or more inches thick.
We were asked questions that were based off our form that I had filled out. And our one and ONLY relationship question that could not be found in the petition was "How did you two met?" Afterwards she went over the documents I sent her, my hubs was wondering what I had submitted, she mentions that she liked I wrote an explanation of each category of each set of evidence that was listed and why we lived a few months apart after he immigrated here. (He got a job offer to Cali and our lease was about to expire in a few months in Washington so made more sense to keep me working till the end of the lease agreement instead of paying x3 rent to break the lease.) Even submitted the plane tickets of me visiting him during 4th of July break at my job. It finally got to the point where she asked us if we had any updated documents we wanted to submit..... she asked if there was an updated lease agreement or a mortgage statement that I could give her and also if there was a tax return from 2020. When I got to about 75% done presenting the documents, my husband kept begging me to stop giving them to her.... I felt like Billy Mays during an info commercial. The IO told him that's its really best to have too many documents than too little. She ended the interview telling us she will be removing the conditions and should be expecting the new green card in the mail within a few weeks.
She mentions hubs is able to apply for citizenship since his window has been open and if we had any questions. Hubs was asking about what to do about child support payments proof when one ex spouse will refuse to sign a document staying he has been paying her it this whole time since there is no court order. Basically show bank statements and highlight where the money is being sent to them, and if there is a conversation to the EX about it, print those conversations as proof. We also mention that we have a petition out for his oldest to come live with us. (Which got stage 1 approval on Wednesday).
PS. My spouse remembered my correct month and day of my birthday but forgot the year, kept guessing the years around it but not it.(Told him thank you for calling me younger than I really am, he gave the correct age I was, and told him to take 21 minus the age and what does he get >>) He was scare he also forgot the day month and year we got married on to the point the IO told him the date and said "Oh yeah."
PSS When we got to the car I checked the status of the petition, it states that his new green card is being produced! -

Please follow any instructions in the notice. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.
Not sure if this will help other people but our BIOS appointment was at San Fernando, CA, I assume it will be in the same area. Haven't received our letter yet. I guess time to look up what people have been asked and start printing our documents. I seriously thought we had about a good few more months before the interview going off of everyone's timelines.

Anyone else's case has been xfered lately?
June 17, 2021 Case Was Transferred And A New Office Has JurisdictionJune 16, 2021 Your Form I-751, Petition to Remove Conditions on Residence, was transferred to another USCIS office.April 12, 2021 We received your Form I-751, Petition to Remove Conditions on Residence.
I'm a bit nervous and wonder why our case was transferred, I was more expecting the email to be about the bio being waived or them needing them. A few weeks ago we sent of the petition for hub's daughter via me, pretty sure that has nothing to do with his ROC.
Has anyone else applied for the Uniting for Ukraine program?

As we get closer to the 2 year mark, has there been any updates for the U4U to be extended? Recently my step daughter got engaged to her boyfriend that is on U4U, but she is not a US Citizen and they want a long engagement so his possible over stay will not be forgiven.
I just want to make sure I didn't miss any important updates. BTW he entered the USA in Sept 2023, so we hopefully will have time.
