  1. So today is 16 days since our case was shipped to the Embassy in Bangkok, according to the sent date NVC gave me over 2 weeks ago. But when I check the status of our case online it still shows up as In Transit. So I called NVC this morning and asked the nice lady...can you please tell me anything about the status of my case? She responded that it is already with the Embassy in Bangkok and told me when it arrived...actually just 4 days after the ship date. I asked her...so why does the case status still show as In Transit? She said the some embassies are really slow at updating. But she said don't worry, it is there. She suggested I contact the Embassy directly to find out more about the status.

So I sent another email to the Embassy inquiring about the status.

If that was the case I doubt the embassy in bangkok would have told me they dont have my case and to contact the nvc :(

This wait is horrendous. Just seeing everyone else get interview days after 3-4 days amd we have to wait weeks and/or months isnt fair.

  2. I know, right? Even the further countries out there receive their case files in a day or two. I truly wonder what happens with the transfer from US coming here to BKK.

Did you notice that the embassy here has posted the schedule appointments for the month of August? Of course, our case number isn't there yet. :(

I really dont have high expectations for this k1 process in general. The way the government works is a joke. No one has any clue as to what they are doing and can give no answers to any questions. I might as well take the money and give it to a monkey. Atleast the monkey would run off and do something immediately.

I called nvc to see if there was a tracking number. No tracking number recorded on file.

I asked why it takes so long. They couldnt give me any information.

I mentioned ceac says nvc has assigned an interview date and asked what the date is. I was told nvc doesnt assign the date. So i asked why it states "national visa center has issued an appointment date?" They said it was an error.

I would really assume that a government processing very sensitive information would be smart enough to ship these documents to another country and have a tracking number with the carrier and atleast provide "correct" information?

  3. Case is still listed as In Transit. I called NVC yesterday just to confirm that I had the ship date correct...and they confirmed July 25th. The nice lady at NVC said it usually takes a week so it should be there any day now. But we are still waiting!

Mine still sames the same. Its amazing how it takes so long to thailand but to manila they receive the case in 2 days

  4. Hey guys,

We received our NOA1 text last Thursday and got the email as well with our receipt number. I've tried to track the case everyday since then and the website is still saying that it does not recognize my receipt number.....I can't imagine why. It's been like 4 days...

    Is this normal?

Read your text and email. It clearly states it will take up to 2 weeks to reflect your cases status

  5. I have a question that I can't really find a answer to. I've had people told me told me to wait and people said its okay to visit. Here is my situation, I received my NOA1 over 8 months and a half months ago and my Fiance is really eager for me to visit, I do miss her as well and I want to visit before the rainy season (she lives in South East Asia, plane tickets gets pricey and the weather sucks during the rainy season). Is it okay to go ahead and visit her while in the middle of the petition or should I wait?

Thanks for any answers in advance.
