  1. Yes, that's right. You have to pay the fee on the USCIS website AFTER you get your visa and before you travel to the US. If I remember correctly, you should receive a bunch of information with your visa that includes instructions on how to pay the green card fee.

  2. Thanks everyone! I sucked it up and printed all the video call logs and then some chats from the past 2 months... still like 20 pages worth of stuff. Oh well. I'm just so sick of submitting and then resubmitting 100+ pages worth of the same stuff! You need an entire day just to prepare everything. I've definitely had a lot of late nights. So glad this website exists, and that it's almost over, God willing! :):)

  3. Hello! Do I have to resubmit all my original relationship evidence from my I-130 at the interview or just anything NEW? I haven't seen my husband since I sent it so we don't have any new photos, just chats.

Also, can my husband just give the officer his phone for evidence?!? We use a combination of Viber, Google hangouts, and Skype, and getting the call logs from any of those is nearly impossible! I'm not about to have him print 200 pages of ####### that they're not going to read either.

Thanks. Sorry for venting a little bit.

I received our NOA1 on October 21st Approx 4 months ago for my Canadian husband which is also filed at the Potomac. I'm in hopes, since our dates are so close, mine will be quick as well. What does the NOA2 letter entail? i know financials and family history right? does it ask you to get an apt with a specific Dr & for the interview?

Your NOA2 is just going to tell you that your petition was approved and is being sent to the NVC. NVC will ask for financial info. Medical and interview info happens after the case is complete at NVC.

  5. I am the USC petitioner. NVC received our Affidavit of Support package on January 27 (CR-1 visa). My income was slightly below the requirement, so we used a joint sponsor. We both sent IRS tax transcripts from the past 3 years (2013-2015). The joint sponsor's income is about 4 times more than what is required; however, before I sent it I saw that the transcripts showed that he was "married filing jointly" with his wife, so the transcripts don't differentiate between his and his wife's incomes. I realize now that we probably should have sent in a separate I-864 for her too, as her name or income is not included in our forms. We didn't send in any other information like W-2's or pay stubs. Yes, I know I should have but that's beside the point now.

My questions are... are they likely to send a checklist for more information about his income? Should I send in our 2016 W-2's to the NVC right now to avoid it, or should I just wait it out? Would that even be enough? Does anyone have any experience with this? Is it possible they will just ask for this at the interview stage? My goal is obviously just to avoid delays as much as possible, like everyone else here.

    Thanks!

  6. Yay! I hope you can be happy about the approval. About one week after my approval notice, I got another notice from USCIS that my case was mailed to the Department of State/National Visa Center. The NVC probably won't send you anything when they receive your case. One week after I got the notice that it was mailed, I called the NVC, and they told me they haven't received it. I called again one week later and the woman told me they received it the day before (so about two weeks after it was mailed, 3 weeks after I-130 approval). That woman also gave me a case number and invoice number. You can enter that information on the Department of State website and continue with the rest of your forms and fees once they're ready. Begin collecting your financial and supporting documents NOW, and be ready to send those in when the fees are paid. I can't tell you how long it will take from here. 2-3 months at NVC?

  7. Hello my friend.

I'm so sorry this happened to you. I hope you have gotten more information by now. If not, all visas from Iran have been suspended for 90 days, including your K1 visa. There are many people on your side who are fighting this, and a court case has already been won today. Unfortunately, the ban is still in effect. Don't give up. You're not alone! At least, the ban for Iranians will likely not see past the 90 days, but you will probably have to wait again.

We feel your pain. This is horrible. Please message me if you have any questions or need anything.

Also, I need to mention that the main concern is interview Visa Waiver Program

It cancels the visa interview waiver program, which allows repeat visitors to forgo an interview. They will now have to undergo an interview. It's not the visa waiver program.

I skimmed the EO which Trump signed few hours ago. There is nowhere it mentions Yemen, Sudan, Iran, Libya, and Somalia. At least what I read I guess.

i believe these countries are what the order describes as "countries referred to in section 217(a)(12) of the INA [Immigration and Nationality Act], 8 U.S.C. 1187(a)(12).

  9. Hello,

My I-130 petition was just approved today, December 20, and I'm assuming it won't be ready at the NVC until at least January. I've had my tax return transcripts ready for some time, for the previous 3 years (2013-2015). I'm self-employed and sometimes my 1099 forms don't come in until the end of January-February, so I can't file for 2016 until then.

Am I now going to be required to submit my tax return for 2016 with my Affidavit of Support?

    Thanks!
