Remember that timelines are only general in nature and specific to country. It does make a huge difference as others have stated. Just be happy that the IMBRA implementation in 2006 - does not cause you the delays that others here experienced (8-10 months, on top of the normal processing). Best of luck to you.

The way I see it, you acted suspicious with the whole "am I being detained" which was kind of a d1ckish move on your part IMO... Probaby set off alarm bells with the cops because generally only criminals or lawyers know these "rights" and technicalities by heart... Since you had nothing to hide, you could have easily shown them the ID to begin with and would have saved yourself the whole bridge rigmarole... Was it pissy of the cops, yes, but you did not help yourself too much by pulling lines from Law and Order either... Made them more suspicious than they were. Reverse it and think, what if there was a real criminal walk g the streets where you were and the cops did nothing to attempt to stop them?

    jcalleja,
You are not likely to get an RFE on this, as the correct information is available throughout the package. On another note, you should be careful to follow threads that are more recent, to ensure the information is up to date. This thread is over three years old.

If I may add to this topic, we have sprayers (bidet) attachments in all of our bathrooms. Until recently, I built these rigs from various parts at Home Depot. A painful installation, that gets into serious plumbing. A relatively new company, has developed a product that takes only 5 minutes to install and is available at Home Depot.

I do not have any interest in this company or Home Depot, only offering an alternative to this important issue.

    John,
According to the VisaJourney TOS, you would never be banned (suspended) for "possessing" derogatory information of any type. You would only be banned (suspended) for creating or responding in a thread, in violation of the TOS. Therefore, your claim is not valid; given that you cannot provide any supporting evidence.

Many posts removed and those quoting them. Any further ill advised advice and follow on responses by that person, will be dealt with by post banning and potentially more. If you don't know the legal immigration process, then don't post. This is directed at the first response of bad immigration advise.

What an obtuse perspective. Are we led to believe that a father cannot be a competent primary parent? I will challenge this outlook with impunity.
A man or woman with skills to educate, nurture and care for a child are on an equal plane. This is not only scientifically proven, but a reality in common sense.

    theresa,
The Diplomatic pouch delivery time really depends on the schedule for delivery to the given area. For example, some countries get a pouch delivery once a month, while others get several per week.
Also noteworthy to add, pouches do not always go directly from point to point. They have regional hubs where pouches are collected from all over, to be delivered at a later date.
They can range in size from a small envelope, to an entire plane load. Some require couriers, some don't.

William33 reacted to TBoneTX in Alcoholism: Is it a disease, or bad choices?
Personal opinion: I submit that, while this point is not untrue, it's a stretch to pick P&R as the preferred location for this thread. The article itself states only health and psychological points -- nothing political -- and the overall topic is disease diagnosis & treatment. The source publication seems to have published it in their "local news" section, because one claim was part of a presentation given at Northern Arizona University and the other was in a medical-topic book. Personally, I would support this thread's move to the Polls forum or Off Topic forum, either of which would be clearly more appropriate than P&R.Furthermore, the poll choices are restricted, with no choice of "it depends" or similar. Very little in health or medicine is 100%, except for the 100% mortality rate in human beings.
To strike a better argument for keeping this thread unmoved, why not instead say "The following article presents arguments about alcoholism as a disease or as a bad choice. What political or social-policy ramifications does either side of the argument have? Discuss."

William33 got a reaction from Kukolka in What is a DECENT salary in America?
To the OP, all of the speculative salary averages (which are in reality, regionally specific), assume that you can actually land the job. Given the current unemployment rates in the US, you might find it very difficult to land a job; given your unverifiable experience. My experience in hiring employees in another field, will offer that hiring foreign nationals without US work experience is very difficult indeed. You may need to start at a lower rate, build verifiable experience and move up.

Ding Ding Ding... we have a winner.
They applied initially and were turned down due to ineligibility. But then a few days later somebody from Medicaid called them??? Just out of the blue? I think it's more likely that the OP called Medicaid first to appeal the denial, then got a call back. Once the deny a case, the government doesn't call applicants to discuss it further.
Why would the OP persist once denied the first time? Basically, he knew they were ineligible, but kept going and was approved (knowing full well he was not supposed to get it, thinking "maybe the government screwed up in our favor once").
Unfortunately, whether you knew or not that you were ineligible (you admitted that you did know), you accepted the sevices, so you are now responsible for the money that was paid for treatment for your wife. The thing with government agencies is that even when it's their mistake, we are still responsible.

I do, but you you obviously don't. Fact you did not know the law does not matter - now, if you knew the law and did not get medicaid, you'd have to get healthcare for you wife anyway and pay for it - so what's your problem ? Again, you're looking for a way to not pay for something you are supposed (that so far our - taxpayers - money been paid for - not sure if other helpful people here noticed it). My two cents, out of this thread. Good luck...

I don't think this person was judging you at all. This person was simply stating what others have said: Apparently you should've not applied for Medicaid in the first place. Your wife is not eligible and you signed an affidavit of support with a garantee she won't become public charge (within the alloted time). The most important issue this poster pointed out is the misrepresentation. Again, this is not a judgment. It is the truth. It is great advice you should follow meticulously. If this worker made that mistake, what else this worker did? I'm on your side, you're a victim of the stupidity of an inept worker. That said, if your wife decides to become a citizen and this comes out to bite you in the butt, she could be deportable for misrepresentation.
I saw a case here of someone that marked 'yes' as being a US Citizen in a job application. That was the day BEFORE his oath ceremony. Poor man is going through deportation procedures. It is horrid and just cruel, but the law is the law... unfortunately. Follow up and save every piece of document regarding this case. And yes, call and schedule a payment plan. Make sure your co-sponsor- if you had any- isn't liable for this bill.
Good luck and congrats on your baby!
