GC Approved!!

AOS Interview was on March 3rd and IO requested additional evidence, this was received by them on Monday 21st and approved 9 days later. Adjusted from visitor visa.

This is actually a good idea and worth trying. Did you provide the National Benefit Center any document to support this request to change name other than you marriage license (which probably they already had on your file)? If it's possible to avoid this $450 payment, it is always worth it.

No i just wrote a letter stating my Receipts Numbers, A Number, explained that I wanted to use my married name as per marriage certificate on file, stated my name how it is on application and how I wanted it to be going forward- if you have already got your EAD this may not be altered but once you get GC it will override it.

Also I would take copy of letter to your interview to prove you took steps prior to correct it

In my case, I started the AOS process with my maiden name because my passport and all my documents were under my maiden name. Does anyone know if in the interview I could present a new passport with my married name and ask that the GC, when issued, bring my married name? Or will I have to do this name adjustment only after the GC is issued?

Hey I did the same thing by applying with maiden name, it wasnt until after the fact I had found out you can apply using your married name, i placed a few calls to the National Customer Service line, they cannot change it and said i would need to write a letter to the National Benefits Center who were handling my case- i sent it recorded delivery and even got a notification on February 29th to say name had been updated however when I went for Interview on March 3rd there was no documentation or noticed for our IO however she wrote my married name on her documents and said my GC would reflect this.. But i have read not all are as helpful. As i know paying $450 is a little too steep

It seems we are on similar timelines. My case was received Nov. 23, Biometrics done Dec. 22 but still no update. Has your i485 updated in USCIS website? Or did you just receive interview letter with no updates? If so, I am hoping my interview letter comes in the mail pretty soon.

First time posting but been following this page.

I filed concurrently i-485, i-130 & i-765 on November 17th.

Nov 19th - Case Received

Nov 24th - NOA1

Dec 22nd - Biometrics Appointment

No updates on EAD (still showing as 'case received') however got a letter inviting me for i-485 interview with my husband on March 3rd. Is it likely they will not issue my EAD as I am on day 76 so I am unsure whether to do service request.
