Just letting everyone know that there was no problem. It was changed to “Issued” a couple of days later, and the lovely wife is in possession of her I-551 stamp!

There is no federal requirement for quarantine, but each state has its own rules.  Check the destination state's requirements.

Hey, don’t mind at all. We got the DQ date in the beginning of July, and it was a little over a month later that we got our interview email and date.

You can layover anywhere and multiple times if you want.  Your first US airport is your POE

Interactions with CBP officers vary by person and circumstance, not by port of entry.  If you have a connecting flight, it's wise to allow 3 or 5 hours connection time.

Unfortunately, this seems to correlate with what I have been suspecting the whole time. Trump can use COVID-19 as an excuse to keep the embassies closed and pretty much stop all immigration without causing a public outcry or any legal ramifications. Hopefully this is a sign that all of the embassies will start opening again at the end of this month and the interview processes can start. We are waiting for an interview date at the Tokyo embassy.

Yes you would list AND "document" any assets listed.  Petitioner's passport photo is not needed at NVC stage.

If you do not provide, they will ask.  That will delay visa issue at least a month.  Include a copy of your most recent pay stub as evidence of current income.  The same pay stub you used to calculate your current income, so they can do the same calculation.  Easy peasy stuff.  Why would you not want do that.

It's not necessary to enter shortened versions or nicknames, but definitely Maiden name, if applicable.

In cases "fairly common including me" where a person does not use their name in a typical way, it can be helpful to note in space available, "Goes by....."  A famous example is J. Edgar Hoover the first FBI director, would complete an I-130 as HOOVER, John Edgar, but he could put under other names used "Goes by J. Edgar Hoover.  Not really necessary to mention he is known as "Ed".  (if he was...)

I am the petitioner and I filled out my husbands DS-260 since he doesn't speak English but first I printed the sheets which you can find here as a sample https://travel.state.gov/content/dam/visas/DS-260-Exemplar.pdf and he gave me information I didn't know like passport number and stuff like that before I began. Our lawyer told us that I would have to login as the applicant. Blessings!

You can't work on a DS-260 same time, there is session ID for it. You can facetime or teamviewer her to work on the DS-260 at the same time.

C and M reacted to pushbrk in Difference amongst the I-864
Doesn't matter.  One I-864 from each of you, as long as HER income qualifies without combining with yours.  If your mother is married and files a joint tax return, her spouse should provide an I-864a. That is the OTHER thing the I-864a is for.
