I got it to work! Interview scheduled for March 23rd. They still had opening the two Wednesday's before that but the timing didn't work for me as I need my passport during that time.
-
Has anyone else had issues with the links in Packet 4 not working?
I am in the same position as you Jaysarah86. Received my confirmation 24 hours later but now can't seem to get anything to work.

Okay, I think I need more help! I just checked my status again (thinking maybe I would get lucky and something would have changed from this morning) and it now says ready!. This is the message that it says -
Your case is ready for you to schedule an interview at the U.S. Consulate General in Montreal. If you have already scheduled an interview appointment, please prepare your documents as directed in your appointment letter and appear at the Consulate on the appointed date and time. Otherwise, please wait until you have been notified of your interview appointment. Additional information about how Immigrant Visa interview appointments are scheduled can be found at:http://nvc.state.gov/interview
there is nothing about Packet three? Does this just mean I can submit packet three?

I am hoping someone can help me! I received my MTL # from NVC last week and am now trying to track in on the CEAC website. Do I select non-immigrant or immigrant on the visa application type? I thought it was non-immigrant but when I do that it does not accept my MTL number but my Application ID is accepted. When I go that route I get a message that says no status and case created on January 27. When I select immigrant it accepts my MTL number and says 'Your case is in transit to the Consular Section. Your interview date was provided to you by the National Visa Center.'
I am so confused as to which one is right and what I do next. Any help would be appreciated

Thanks JennNMike - what part of New York are you in?

Thank you everyone!

Thanks everyone!
Abbey & Colin - that is great news! I can do my most recent trips (most weekends lately) but I live not far from both Michigan and New York and have been crossing my whole life with no record - I panicked for a minute!

I am hoping someone can help me. I am filling out the DS-160 and have gotten to the question where it asks for information on all U.S. visits. I cross to the U.S. all the time but do not keep a log. Do you have to complete them all or can you just complete your most recent visits? Thanks in advance

Thanks! I will start mine now!

That's great Ashley! Happy for you!!
NVC confirmed they received our case yesterday but didn't log it yet. I will call again tomorrow, I feel like we are getting close.
Do we need our MTL number to do the DS-160?

I just realized packet 3 info was further up in this string!

Thank you Ashley! Where did you find the information on packet 3 & 4? I went through the great summary of steps someone made on VJ for Montreal but a lot of the links were old. Also, have you had your medical yet? I read something last night that confused me - I thought I could schedule it once I got my case number from NVC but last night read I needed to have my appointment letter.

We just received our approval notice by email (NOA2) if I understand right our case now moves to NVC. Once it moves to the NVC will we still track this on the same website or does this move to a different location? Also, so far all communication has gone to my fiance in the US - will all documents continue to be sent to him or will they now be sent to my Canadian address? Thank you!

Thank you Aaron. Just so I am clear, my mind never stops and I am a bit of an over thinker , the AP takes 90 days or the AOS takes 90 days? Thanks again!

Hello, I am new to this forum so please accept my apologizes if these questions have been asked. I have spent hours on here and learned so much but all of this reading has led to a few questions. I did read the FAQ and some of the answers looked to be a few years old so I wasn’t sure if things had changed.
We received our electronic notification last week that our visa was approved but am still waiting on the official notification in the mail which tells un the next steps but I think from this page I have figured a lot of this out!
My questions:
1. Once I enter the US and activate my Visa can we get married right away or do we need to wait at all – I see it says to wait 10 days to apply for SSN wasn’t sure if there was a wait also to get married.
2. I also see that once the Visa is activated I cannot come back to Canada until we have completed our AOS – is this the case? I did read something about being able to apply for an advance parole to allow you to cross but wasn’t sure if this was for one trip or if it could be used for multiple trips.
Thank you in advance for your help and thank you for this page – it has helped so much since I found it on Friday!!

You have to get packet 4 first and then you select #2. I sent packet 3 Saturday by email and received packet 4 yesterday by email and was able to schedule then.
