Look into things like greeting cards you've both received in the mail, to show your relationship but also being at the same address!
I also included gift receipts of large purchases we've made to one another, like rings, watches, tech.

Don't freak out aANDg! Make some macha latte 🍵and relax by looking at the list of how many people filed before you and haven't heard anything about it yet (includes yours truly).

Don't say your unlucky. Everything happens for a reason. Think positive.

mrskent reacted to Cathi in USPS Mailing of Thick I-751 Package
I used USPS with every single process up to and including naturalization with no issues whatsoever. No insurance, no certified mail, no signature. It is being sent to a PO box so there is no one to sign for it. I did track them and had no issues with that, either. There's no reason whatsoever to spend extra money for services like FedEx and UPS.

No, his father can not apply for disability at all because he has not worked at all here in the USA. He does not just get to come here and file for SSDI without working for it. Also the mother will not be able to get any benefits either.

How are you going to start building a house when you are 30k in debt and cannot afford to live outside of your means currently. This sounds like a real bad idea.

Here's an example of how a completed form should look:
http://www.visajourney.com/examples/INS-Form-I-751.pdf
However, I've just looked at the USCIS guideline for completing the form:
https://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/files/form/i-751instr.pdf
On page three, no.3, it states:
"3. Answer all questions fully and accurately. If a question does not apply to you (for example, if you have never been married and the question asks “Provide the name of your current spouse”), type or print “N/A,” unless otherwise directed. If your answer to a question which requires a numeric response is zero or none (for example, “How many children do you have” or “How many times have you departed the United States”), type or print “None,” unless otherwise directed."
Now I'm not sure what you should put. According to the above, you might have to state "N/A", even though it's technically not a question that they are asking. Perhaps someone else can shed further light on this?

mrskent reacted to Harpa Timsah in Currently with F-1 looking to get temporary green card through girlfriend
Hey guys...
I don't know why everyone harps on questions like this. Do you all expect that random foreigners (no offense OP) or even US Citizens know how US immigration works? Because they don't. People are not necessarily criminal masterminds with grand plans to defraud the Government. More often they are confused people looking for help on how to be with their loved ones.

I find the K-1 and filling internally might be cheap UPFRONT - but then it's costly if the beneficiary stays in the US and can't work during the time of their application process as well.
I had to support my husband here in Canada while we completed my application and I have to say - that was challenging for 10 months!

mrskent reacted to Adil & Jeanne in So sad!
Not to be unkind but if you can not afford to fly there again, how did you think to pay the upcoming fees?
the AOS was $1070 and has gone up
his flight to the US if you were paying
the $165 visa fee
and all the expenses after his arrival like buying health insurance
this is not a cheap process
you can reapply but it would require more visits to his country / I made 5 and stayed a month twice, 2 months, and 3 months twice

But on the application it clearly asks if you have children. No matter what the circumstances, with the intended spouse or past relationships.
I don't understand why you wouldn't mention your children to begin with, I think you will encounter some hefty questions when you look into move forward to sponsor your children.

We are not discussing other countries but the country where OP is from and that he misrepresented on his application. It is a serious concern for especially citizens like us who just had a horrible week in NYC where again the attacker was trying to falsify documentation to bring his wife from Pakistan. It hurts the legitimate applicants.

The issue is was he actually F3 but lied to get his GC quicker, not exactly the first time that has happened.

Misrepresentation is always a big deal. Hence, the call for additional scrutiny or vetting of immigrant applications.
So you saying it is okay to lie if is not material or if CO cannot find out? Like, if nobody sees it, does it happen!!
-
mrskent got a reaction from squareleg in Green card holder - out of wedlock children
Agreed. We've all busted our chops to make sure that our documents/relationships/kids/criminal records (etc) are cleared up and represented as they are, to the truest of our knowledge to NVC and the consulate.
To have someone KNOWINGLY lie on multiple documents and during their interview - under oath!? It really upsets me.
Especially considering I've seen several people go through so many RFE/221s simply because they forgot a paper or submitted 1044s instead of W2s, or proof of domicle wasn't documented enough.
-sigh-

Can't see why you couldn't mention your kids on the form?
What visa did you get?
Do you have a GC?

So you lied on your application? When did you get married?
-
mrskent reacted to Cathi in Green card holder - out of wedlock children
it clearly asks if you have ANY children, you lied on the application, how is this confusing? The US doesn't care about Pakistani law they care about OUR laws.

mrskent got a reaction from Allison/Robert in Courthouse Wedding Yey or Ney
I had a small courthouse wedding, cancelled BOTH BIG weddings, We had one planned for NY and one for Canada to please the family and I just got too stressed with them pushing their ideals and stuff - so we cancelled and did a courthouse wedding with 2 people. Was perfect! I still took photos, etc and my mom was there.
They did ask why the small wedding during my interview last week and I was 100% and just said the in-laws were stressing me out and he laughed and totally understood. He didn't ask for proof, photos, etc!
I say go for it! We loved one another so much we just wanted to get married and start our lives together!
