  1. had my interview on 15th... still waiting for passport to be delivered.. today they changed the status to "administrative processing" .. dnt knw what exactly that means.. some people say its normal after approval as printing and preparing visa packet is also reffered to administrative processing . on the other hand some says its bad sign as it could take weeks or months. the CO said my visa is approved and i will get it in 5-10 days. she did'nt gave me any letter or 221g except the yellow paper apporval.. i booked my flight in excitement for 30th march.. and embassy is going for holidays from 24th to 27th.. dnt knw if i will get my passport back by 29th or not.. its really frustrating

  2. What counts as a police clearance? my fiancé said that she got one about a year ago but it was just a stamp on her passport.

for police clerance certificate ur fiance needs to schedule an appointment online at http://passportindia.gov.in/AppOnlineProject/welcomeLink .. signup for new acount and apply for pcc.. schedule an appointment for the same at nearest psk (passport sewa kendra) .. if ur passport is older than a year u wwill need to go thru police verification.. else u will get ur pcc same day at psk on ur appointment day.. u will get a certificate and a stamp on the passport.. the pcc stamp u got a year ago is no use now... u need to obtain a new one

  3. So the ceas website says that our case has bee ready to begin scheduling interview since feb 27. BUT me and my fiance just found out that her address is incomplete so that's why she hasn't received the instructions on how to proceed.

Is this a huge problem? Can it extend the time by a significant amount? She called the embassy and they gave her an email address for the embassy to email the correct people of the problem?

Is their a reason why they can't just let us start the police clearance, medical check and interview without having the official instructions???

She called the embassy and they said it wasn't a big problem however I need to see it it believe

u can go ahead with pcc process but at medical they need to see the letter from embassy with ur case number on it... just call the embassy helpline and resolve the issue.. otherwise it could take a long time.. act on it mate

  4. @landl...

U got to wait for 2-3 weeks for their letter with instructions.. I got mine in 15 days.. N also the status "ready" is updated two times by the embassy.. First when they recieve the case.. N second when they mail u the letter.. Check updation date on the status check page of ceac website.. Check everyday.. When the date changes that means ur letter is mailed.. In the meanwhile u should apply for police clearance certificate (pcc) at regional passport office or passport sewa kendra (psk).. If ur passport is older than a year, it will take them around 2 weeks to issue the same as police verification is required.. But if u have a new passport not older than a year, u will get it the same day of ur appointment at psk.. Second step is medical and vaccination.. Third step is DS160 online.. Fourth step is to pay the embassy fee.. And finally schedule the interview.. Good luck mate..

  5. we entered the usa together last night @ jfk.

I have a generic name and for nearly a decade have had issues every time reentering the usa. if you think dealing with uscis is a pain for a fiancee visa, try getting your records, as a citizen, cleared of some error that results in being mistakenly arrested at the airport. finance visa is a breeze comparatively.

well, I did have to speak to an agent briefly but wasn't detained for an hour in the back room like usual. it actually would've been ok this time (kinda sorta) because that's the same room where my fiancee was led to. she came out remarkable quickly, but with a kind of strange look on her face. she said they took her packet and passport, told her to sit down. about 10 minutes later an officer gave her the passport back and walked away without saying anything. fiancee stood there a minute and then left, slowly, looking over her shoulder, but the officers pointedly ignored her. they didn't ask her a single question, let alone tell her she was done.

we waited 20 minutes for the baggage and then had to show our passports again to get out so if there had been some issue they certainly could have stopped her. nothing. very weird.

very very relieved and ecstatic to be here.

(not to mention great mirth at seeing my Thai love react to the just below freezing new york night, ah ha ha ha. but she is already adjusting really well)

I'm really looking forward to reading more interview/entry stories here...because there's always a story. may yours come soon, and resolve itself well!

hey.. congrats.. i wanna ask u did u get "employment authorised" stamp on ur I-94 form at the jfk airport?

  6. The tax return will show what she has made in the past. A letter from her employer will show her current earnings. Both the documents give the CO a good picture if there will be a "burden on the tax payers" in the future. Use the current (new) income for I-134. They just want to have financials to insure you meet or exceed the poverty level. Good luck.

They have test that they will run on the blood sample and that will give them the information they will need to administer the shots she will need. Having no shot records is not a deal breaker. Good Luck

the income written in income tax return is almost double of what is required.. and in a hurry we filled the old income in i-134 as we have strong proof for that.. n my fiance have already mailed it to me.. if we present i-134 at interview, would it create problem for us? or should she again prepare the i-134 with new income and mail again.. as time is less to get it mailed.. will the old income work? m confused.. please guide me

  7. hey friends... i have a question.. my interview is on 15th this month.. my fiancee is preparing documents for affidavit of support... the thing is.. she filled her income tax return this year of a particular amount, but she got promoted a couple of months back... so the actual annual income is a bit high now.. so what should we fill in the annual income column of i-134 form.. the new income or the income shown on W2s forms and income tax returns? although i must say there is not a huge diffrence as the salary raise is very less !!
