  1. In the DS260 where it says: "Have you ever been refused a US visa" my advisor typed in "NO" but my husband was refused a tourist visa a year ago because he didn't prove that he had strong ties with his home country. Now is that a big mistake she made? Or should he just clarify that in the interview? Should I call NVC?

    i also made small mistake in DS-260, we sent inquiry message they said in the interview time, tell the office your mistake,

    so now they can't correct your mistake because they are unable to edit anything in it

  2. Just logged in and saw 3rd N/A. Finally!!! I am soooo happyyy :dancing::dancing::dancing::dancing: Keep faith guys and you will get your CC soon.

    First scan date: May 26th

    Second Scan date: June 6th

    CC date: July 8th

    congratulation eljourney

    and i have a Q from you , we sent our DC and they received it on 5th July we called to confirm and they said yes they recieved it on 5th how do you know your scan date is that the scan date when they received it?

  3. according to the welcome letter they don't mention there that you have to make two separate envelopes, they just say that they way we sent you this letter keep the DC like this way and arrange it the way we sent you so i didn't make two separate envelopes but i did clip them separately, so i clipped beneficially all DC one, and then petitioner all DC one and then the Joint sponsor DC clipped with clipper and all of these three DC i kept them in one envelope and sent it it didn't get there it's on the way i hope this is the right way the way they told me in the welcome letter,

  4. Can the birth certificate be the international version or does it have to be Bosnian version then translated to English.

    i don't know what is international version and national version, we have only BC which can be used for both, if you have that kind of things then you should use international version or ask them what to use from your official

    and hey E & E i have a Q from you

    what is the address sending DC from abroad to NVC?

    National Visa Center
    Attn. CMR
    31 Rochester Avenue Suite 100

    Portsmouth, NH 03801-2914

    it is right address ?

  5. What you said is the federal income tax return. https://www.irs.gov/uac/about-form-1040

    However, in order to submit this, they need ALL of the forms related to the income tax return. This might include W2's, 1099's or other tax forms. If your joint sponsor has any income, they would get a form detailing that income, which needs to be included in the packet.

    However, if it says "Tax Return Transcript" then that is an IRS Tax Transcript (the first item) and no other items are required.

    Evidence of Income (pay stubs) are always good to include. but are only necessary if your tax transcripts and/or forms show income below the poverty level and your current employment income is above the poverty level.

    Proof of assets is only needed if you have assets that you are using in lieu of income requirements.

    thank you so much

  6. hey everyone ,

    what is the difference between these five things it is mentioned in the welcome letter my petitioner filed for tax and got the papers of it but now we are confused which one to select " enclosed" unavailable" and not applicable" the papers which my petitioner got from IRS it is written on the top " US individual income tax return" and then detail is there how much it is earned in year totally but we are not sure what to select in here in these five places Please need guidance in this regard

    IRS Tax Transcript...............................[ ] [ ] [ ]

    Federal Income Tax Returns................. [ ] [ ] [ ]
    Form W2............................................... [ ] [ ] [ ]
    Evidence of income............................... [ ] [ ] [ ]
    Proof of assets....................................... [ ] [ ] [ ]
  7. This was clarified a few times before. I know you mentioned that your joint sponsor is married. If the joint sponsor tax return is joint with lets say his wife then the wife need to fill out the I-864A thats when the proof of relationship is required for the husband and wife that filed the joint tax return. If your sponsor did not file his tax return jointly with his wife then there will be no I-864A thats required hense no proof of relationship required. Hope you're clear with when the proof of relationship is required.

    The question big question here is did your sponsor file his tax return with his spouse? If the answer is no then there is no proof of relationship thats required. If the answer is yes then you need the wife to fill out form I-864A and have the marriage certificate sent in.

    MsrBurgz now you clarified it so well , before you described this but now this much well, so now real clarification is we don't need to show Proof of relationship of Joint sponsor :)

  8. Proof of relationship is only needed when filing form I-864A, as shown on the link:

    If you completed Form I-864A, submit evidence that proves your relationship to the sponsor (the person who filed Form I-864). You can prove your relationship by submitting a photocopy of one of the documents below:

    • Birth certificate;
    • Marriage certificate;
    • Adoption certificate;
    • The petitioner or joint sponsor’s most recent Federal Income Tax Returns, if you are listed as a dependent; or
    • A signed, written statement describing the relationship.

    hey gryphon,

    thanks alot but we have filled I-864 not I-864A so we don't need to show proof of relationship

  9. I think you can use a signed written letter describing the relationship to the sponsor.

    Check this link out: https://travel.state.gov/content/visas/en/immigrate/immigrant-process/documents/Step_4_Collect_Financial_Documents.html

    thank you eljourney

    another question is,

    can we send our package to NVC from abroad especially from middle east or should we send this to US some friends they will send it for us we are currently living abroad ?
