my son did not had any medical exam or anything else done, I was wondering what he needs exactly to actually be able to come in US and if he needs a Visa stamped or anyhthing else like that?
When did you enter as K1 ?I entered on June 10th this year, got married 5 days later

Hi, I have hired a lawyer for doing my K1, I am already in US with a pending adjustment of status, running out of money quick. My son is still in Canada, and when I filled my first papers, I wrote about my son on my forms to get my K1 but he wasn't supposed to come in USA with me. But things evolved and now he is supposed to come here.
I need to know what I should do to make him come over here, I know he automatically get a K2 but do I need to fill a form? I don't know where to look and where to start. (My son is 10 years old)

she never said it was because I was married, she only said they are not giving SSN just because we feel like it basically, I need a good reason to get one, and I said I wanted one for getting a driver's license and to start working as soon I have my work permit and it wasn't good enough....
-
I did printed this document, and shown to her, but it wasnt good enough for her
-
she told me basically that it was only for food stamps and stuff like that, if I don't need the gov help I don't need that. I gave her the document of eligibility requirement and even with that she refused. I don't know if it's a problem but we were already married when I went there.
oh I forgot, Montreal wrote with a pen on my I-94 " Sep. X9, 2006 Employment Not Auth"
She said she did not liked that line, that just prooves I don't need SSN

I would like to hear some people that actually used their married name on their papers. I was wondering myself as well

some days ago I went to get my SSN, I am on a K1 Visa and the lady said I can't have a SSN without a good reason. I have shown all the documents that says I don't need a work permit to have a SSN issued, but she said she won't do it and to come back only when I get my Work Permit or when I get my status updated. Lets just say I am upset, it will just add more delay after I get my work permit.

When I went for my K-1 interview, they asked me my sealed evelope with my medical information and did not gave me any copy neither gave it back to me. I was working on my AOS and I saw they are requesting that sealed envelope for the medical form part. Did anybody on a k1 visa had an interview in Montreal and had this issue? What should I do?
-
I-797 is the "Notice of Action", it's the first approval you get, you should be able to see a receipt number starting with EAC- on it
-
I had a sealed envelope from the physician that Montreal embassy kept for them, I do not have a copy of this since I never been allowed to open it, how to get a hold of this for AOS??
-
it's under my husband part, I thought it was his, thanks

What is the A# that is asked on Advance Parole form, EAD form etc...? is it the consulate case number?
-
In fact, neither.
You are a "legal alien allowed to work so long as you have permission from the DHS". Such permission is called an Employment Authorization Document, or EAD for short, and you will also require a Social Security Number.
G
I did not got my EAD permission yet, I was about to send the form this incoming week in same time as my SSN form. Am I a "Legal Alien Allowed to Work" without it?
-
As a K-1 Visa, are you "Legal Alien Allowed to Work" or "Legal Alien Not Allowed to Work"?
-
I would say, just speak the truth and go to the interview, and see what they will conclude, that is your best option.

Congratulations!! I am myself moving Saturday too, by airplane to Maryland, gosh I can't wait!!
-
I simply hate the province, I lived here all my life and never liked it, if my interview had failed I would have moved elsewhere in Canada. Montreal is rude and snob, you are so right ; ;

Air Canada
in Canada
must depend where you go, for me there was no difference between 7 to 14 days for going in Maryland

Air Canada
in Canada
Just make sure when you buy your booking you will book something 7 days or later from the current date. It will be a lot cheaper for you.
-
Awww ; ; sorry things did not worked out, you can always contact the consulate where your fiance got his k1 approved and with the case number you should be able to get more information on what to do.
-
My fiance is 24 and I am 32(and I am a girl) they did asked me about our age difference at my interview but they have been respectful and really nice about it. They just asked what we had in comon and what impact it had on our relationship.

So we have to fill the same forms again for him?
