You would probably attend the Dallas, TX field office and the USCIS website is saying that it will take about 11 to 16.5 months. If you apply online and set up an account it will tell you how long it will take. I applied August 2018 and my account had an estimated completion of citizenship at October 2019. I completed my naturalization July 1, 2019. But again if you apply and make an account it may give you a better timeline than the 11 to 16.5 months the USCIS website gives depending on the busyness of the Dallas office.

How does my wife get her green card validity extended?  Hers has expired while waiting on her conditions to be removed on her first green card.

She just applies for it. File the N-400. You can do it online or paper-based. As long as she has been a permanent resident for 3 years (yes, she remains a permanent resident while her I-751 is pending) and she lived the last 3 years in “marital union” with a US citizen, she can apply.

Ok, how long is the process for citizenship usually?

  3. Can my wife apply for citizenship when she has been here for 3 years? She had already applied to lift the restrictions on her green card but it’s already taking so long that she has now been here long enough to apply for citizenship.  How does she apply for citizenship if she is still waiting on her green card renewal?  Btw my wife is married to me a citizen by birth.

What do you mean you have a receipt number saying fingerprint fee?

If you have a receipt number that usually means you got the NOA. The paper NOA should say how it extends your status. Fingerprint fee received message is usually displayed on the online status. Did you get a paper NOA? Did you read it?

On the uscis app it says my fingerprint fee was received. That’s it. I haven’t received any paper receipt notice in the mail.  On the uscis app it says the receipt notice was sent but I haven’t received anything in the mail. The uscis app is the only thing showing that I have applied for roc on green card

I looked up in the Case tracker (app by USCIS). I entered 1804400000 with a window of 500 cases.

It seems that only 7 cases (including mine) out of 500 got transferred to an office with different jurisdiction.

I am very intrigued. Is it because of the joint N400 filing? As soon as I get that letter, I will let the group know.

    :)

How does one know which cases are near this or that case?

Mag and Chef: One VSC September 6 th, 2017 transfer to TSC and approved on Dec 19, 2018.  So around 15.5 to 16 months.  Since all service center are anywhere from 15.5 to 22. 5 months, not sure workload sharing could improve processing time.

The paperwork is done by contract workers who don’t get paid a lot.

My my case number is src1990072058

on the uscis app it says they sent me something in the mail but I have received nothing.  The info pass site says no Appointments available every time I check.

You should call as I said in another post I apply in Nov 14th 2017. And they told me I have to make an info pass appointment to get my extencion letter

I called the uscis and they just tell me the same thing I can find out online.  They said they filed a request for information on my case but they won’t respond before the green card expires.  What does it mean if people are legally here and have cases pending but have no document to prove it?

It does not mean you can get deported. You are still in legal status (as long as you filed for ROC before your card expired). You just have no proof of it.

You can make a request here: https://egov.uscis.gov/e-request/displayNDNForm.do?entryPoint=init&

I thought that would work too but on that link if you try to select form number it won’t let you, their is nothing to choose. I tried on both pc and mac. The form subtype option doesn’t work either.

  9. Me and my Indian wife will be traveling to India and her maiden name is still on her Indian passport. We have American legal residency card with her married name on it along with American marriage certificate.  Will we have problems getting hotels in Kerala?

  10. My wife is now a green card holder and at the time of open enrollment for health insurance she didn't have her social security card which is required to get health insurance.

So so guess what since she didn't have American health insurance when she was still in her country and couldn't get it in the U.S. Yet during open enrollment....she can be made to pay the fine for not having health insurance.

This is bull that we have to pay a fine for not having something she had no way of getting.

The insurance places claim that she has to get it within 60 days of arriving but they didn't understand that a k1 visa itself is not a visa for staying in the U.S. Legally, it's the completion of the adjustment of status which is really when the  60 day time period for insurance enrollment should be started I would think.
