  1. As of now, u r still on waiting mode. Wait for the next letter. You will need police clearance & nbi clearance (make sure it's travel abroad/U.S purposes) if your husband is from philippines. You will also need original or certified copy of Birth Certificate (you and ur husband) and marriage certificate for DS230 form. Check VJer's timeline so you have idea when its time to get those certificate.

    Hi,

I received my I-130 via email today :) yay!

    What's the next step?

How do i know that my case has been forwarded to NVC?

Can my husband start getting his police certificate now? What can I do in the mean time?

Thanks for all your support and help, vj!

  2. Thanks riblet. For the unlimited calls to philippines just visit www.mabuhaycalls.com its $69 a month. get the Cellphone not the bag phone. They will give you a local access code. for the cellphone its only for metromanila area. About my cellphone plan here in U.S. It's metropcs, but it's for only here in san francisco. i can't use it outside bay area.

  3. Hi everyone. I got a question. Do they really need the phone bill in the interview? the reason y i ask this coz i dont really use my landline to call my wife. I used my cellphone because i have this unlimited minutes and txt. Since I have family plans, it's on auto payment plus they only send the billl amount thru text (sms). I called the customer service if i can get my previous bills thru paper or file but they said there is no way could do that. I'm worried about my wife's interview if they ask for the bill for them to check. but i do have the used phone cards that i bought, chat log, and bills for this unlimited calls to the phillipines. Are they enough?

  4. You need to send a copy of all of your forms that you sent to NVC including I-864 to your beneficiary just in case NVC lost their copy or just in case they ask. Plus your beneficiary can review the information that you sent to NVC, it might help in the interview.

To those who have submitted an I-130, did any of you include the I-864 (Affidavit of Support, with supporting documents) with it? If you did, did USCIS/NVC forward the I-864 as well to the embassy? I'm wondering if it would serve the same purpose as you sending the I-864 to your beneficiary and then taking it with them to the interview.
  5. i saw in this forum before that he need to send mail. There's a sample letter. If anyone knows can you please post it here. thanks

My dad become USC. He petitioned my brother when he was still permanent resident Feb 97. I heard his petition will become faster if he become USC. What he need to do now he's US Citizen now.

Contact them to upgrade the petition.

Search the USCIS website for more info.

  6. Heya all. I recently got the DS-230 packet from NVC. Do we now have to submit all the supporting docs (NBI, Police Record, Marriage Cert etc) with it back to NVC? I think thats a rcent change?

    Orimai

Yes, you need to submit Birth Cert., Marriage Cert., Police & NBI Clearance, Photocopy of Applicants Passport Bio Page.

  7. It wont slow down your I-130. I-130 and K3 have diff. purpose. Just send another 129-F or if you want, just go on with your I-130 without K3. My K3 was denied for some reason (they said they sent a mail which i dont recv asking for addtnl proof). and my I-130 was almost done.

Thanks everyone that has been giving replies. I got 2 more questions. Does the fact that I messed up filing this I-129F affect the speed of my I-130? Also what would happen if I just sent another I-129F and waited for to see which ever would get there first?
  8. My friends wife got her visa a week after the interview.

Hello all out there. I am kinda new to this forum although I have read alot of the threads while waiting my husbands visa. Any hows....my husband, my children and I have planned to leave the Philippines in April. Our children and I, are USC, while my hubbie has his K3 visa. We have just received notice that his interview is March 1st for Immigrant Visa. Does anyone out there know how long it will take for them to issue the visa, because I know they will take my hubby's passport. Is it better to go thru with the interview here in the Philippines, or can we leave in April and file for AOS in the states?
  9. You can get married first then go back here in the U.S. and file for you citizenship. After you citizenship, you can file for I-130. You will need your naturalization certificate and american passport on your I-130 to prove that ur a citizen.

in our case, we got married first then my husband filed for citizenship... after 2 months from filing he got his naturalization cert...

then he filed the I-130...

So in essence... since you married 2 months before filing... i can get married 5 years before i file ryt? (i know thats a long shot :) )

Anyway, what was your status before he filed for your I-130?

  10. All you need for now are Copy of birth certificate (you and ur husband), copy of passport (first pages, the one with your info in it), copy of marriage certificate, passport pics (husband and you), both G325A forms (husband and you) and I-130 forms. You have to keep of all of your originals unless they asked for it. Photos of the wedding and pictures that ur together will be used for interview, keep it for now.

Ok! So after doing SO much research I've made a checklist with what to submit with this I-130 package! Please let me know if there is anything I should add OR if there is something that I don't need to include with it.

    1. My husband's original birth certificate and copy (front and back)

    2. Copy of my birth certificate (front and back)

    3. Copy of ALL pages of passport

    4. Original marriage certificate, copy of it and translation

    5. Passport pics (one for husband, one for me)

    6. Both G352A forms

    7. Affidavits from my both of my parents (read on USCIS.gov website to include this for additional proof)

    8. A copy of my I.D. to show that I changed my last name and that I really am serious about this marriage!

    9. And of course, the I-130 form!

    Now for a few questions:

    1. Do I need my original birth certificate? Or ONLY if they request to see it?

    2. Do I need to submit copies of ALL pages of my passport? I think it is a good idea because my passport is stamped with the Honduras stamp. Or maybe they won't care and wonder WHY I included a copy of my birth certificate AND copies of the pages of my passport? Maybe I just need a copy of my birth certificate?

    3. Do I include the pictures that I have of me and my husband together? I have them dated from 2003-present. OR Do I wait to submit those with that other form?

    Thanks! :D

  11. You dont need to submit those picture for now. u will need it for the interview later on.

I'm filing the I-130 petition tomorrow for my husband and I'm STILL confused on whether or not to submit pictures of me and my husband together?

Could someone please tell me if I do? Or do I wait for the interview and show that stuff then? I have pictures dated all the way back to 2003 but they are on the computer and are printed out on printer paper. But for our wedding pictures I just got them developed and they are on photo paper.

    :help:

  12. I think its best way is to get your citizenship first. then apply for fiance visa. I heard it will take 5 years if ur not citizen.

    Hi there.

I am from the Philippines. I migrated with my family 5 years ago to the US. Went in and out of the US to finish schooling. But had the re-entry permit so the count to 5 years of residency was not broken.

Anyway... I want to marry my gf of 7 years already, and want to know which visa is applicable for her and is the best for us. I know i am not qualified for the K1 or K3 visa since i am still an immigrant.

We are both planning to go into medical residencies in the US. So time is of importance.

Which is the fastest way for her to be able to start working here in the US as a doctor? Should i marry her now and apply for this Spousal visa or should i file for Citizenship now and wait til i can get her a K1 or K3 visa? Which way will be faster for her to be able to work here in the US?

Please do help me. This is a very important decision in my life right now and i want to do the right thing. Residency starts in July and i want to know if i should propose, marry alreaddy or wait for citizenship and marry.

    Thank you so much!

  13. He don't have to be there. All you need are the appt letter and passport. Do not bring camera or cellphone with camera inside, they wont allow it.

I have a Biometrics appointment this friday (2/9).

Both my husband and I work, he (citizen) wants to know if he needs to take off work too to go to the appointment.

I tried calling the CS 800 number but got no help.

So the question is, can *I* go to the biometrics appointment alone, or do I need my sponsor there for something?

Also, other than the Appointment notice and proof of ID, do I need tot ake something else?

I appreciate the heads up from anyone who has gone thru the appointment already.
