Yes, your plan can be done.
But the wisdom of leaving the US as a USC without a valid US passport is questionable.

It would probably be easier to postpone the oath ceremony until after the trip. What if the embassy/country where you are going closes down again for the rumored “second wave” of COVID-19 whilst you are there? You don’t want to be stressed about how to get a passport from a closed embassy.

Awesome! Got the notification. August 17th it is! Got my approval on 07/15, notification of oath on the 07/27 and ceremony scheduled for 08/17. Can’t wait to move forward and be done with the whole process! Good luck to all of you and stay positive 🙏🏽

Finally I am done with my journey as well!! I am in this journey since 2016 and USCIS has been on my mind every single day since then!! 😏 It was a tough journey but it taught me patience!! Good comes to those who are honest, hard working and have respect for every single individual!! ❤️ Thank you everyone for your contribution .. 

Our nearly 6 year immigration journey has finally come to an end. My husband's oath ceremony was this morning...bright and early at 7:45 am. I wasn't allowed inside, but my daughter and I were waiting outside for him. I am so grateful to be done. I pray all of you get good news soon.

He can't file for baby mama for a long time so at least that they can't do. 
Don't ever be alone with him. He is already thinking of how to get his ROC with abuse waiver it sounds like.

I had to read "the white house is in Washington D.C." and I had to write "the president lives in the White House"

Oath Ceremony August 7th

Cheating is unfortunately not enough to prove fraud. Cheating is terrible but happens in all kind of marriages around the would. 
He can't file for baby mama for a long time so at least that they can't do.

Yes , I got my Oath letter this morning. Oath Ceremony is scheduled for August 26th at federal Court House.

Today i received the electronic letter of Oath Ceremony under documents. 
Interview was on 22nd July. And recieved Oath Ceremony letter today on 28th. Ceremony is scheduled for August 26th at court house. Almost a month to go.
The Oath letter came with a questionare of yes and no questions. 
 

No just the regular misinformation line they can see the date right away on their computer.

Nope haven't gotten it yet and I'm on day 5. I called and got the date because we have to plan as my son have in school and the ceremony is 3 1/2 hour drive away so couldn't wait anymore to know the date.

Well there is also the problem that people show up when interview is cancelled. When we were in the waiting room 2 got sent away. One left right away and the other they had to spend 15 min explaining that they already called them several times and left messages and update to online system that it was cancelled because they hadn’t received their paperwork yet. So it also takes time away from anyone else waiting because they have to deal with that. Right now it just all a big mess they can’t keep up with everything at all.

Would suggest you look into English classes for her while she waits for new job to help her improve and that would probably help her job opportunities (and life here) in the future as well.
