Good Question...and that's funny you ask because that's what am doing now.  Preparing for my husbands arrival next month.  First, I plan to make room in my closet, HA!, then we plan to visit all my family.  Since my husband is from Ghana I searched and found a Ghanaian restaurant for us to go too, and I youtubed how to cook some of his favorite home dishes.  (I hope that's a success ).  Then when things start to settle down we will sit down and go over all the household bills.  He has a good business sense so he would be better at budgeting then me.  Before he arrives I will get a current Driver's license book for him to study for and lastly we will plan a short trip to someplace (not sure yet) to celebrate out 2nd year anniversary in November.

I Googled flights and I love it.  It shows the price for each day on a monthly calendar.  I think from Ghana to Philly traveling South African Airlines is best.  Did you choose SAA or did you choose Delta?

Does anyone know what is the best way to purchase a flights from Ghana to US?  Is it cheaper for the spouse in the US or the spouse in Ghana to purchase the ticket? 

Same here...at the Ghana Embassy, no spouse allowed inside unfortunately.  I send a email to the embassy to confirm and I did get a reply in a few days stating no spouse allowed inside unless my name was indicated on the interview form. 
 
As I told my husband just take deep breathes and it will be over.  Sounds like you have all your paper work required and you front loaded so that's great.  This daunting process will not last forever.....Good Luck! 

I would suggest getting a legalized divorce, get your divorce decree then file for a CR1 spousal visa.  It takes approximately a year for the spousal visa. In the meantime, continue to collect proof of your relationship. 

Fedex is the best way I think. Its expensive but reliable.

I was there for two weeks and yes they did ask when was my divorce date and he answered correctly. I guess she got mad that he did and then asked when was my previous wedding date, smh....

a 221g is not a denial. Its a temporary denial. So they are doing further investigation which in other words is called Administrative processing. Check you status update daily on www.ceac.state.gov. There you will find her status. GIve it some time. And in the meantime, try to contact your local congressman to help you get answers from the consulate directly and request for an extension so that while its processing under further investigation it wont be expired. It can be extended for an additional 4 months.

I have contacted my senator and he sent me a form that I need to send back with a copy of the letter my husband received. I have also made an appointment with my local USCIS for next Thursday at 7:45 to discuss this. I have also emailed NVC and expressed my horror at what has happened. I am not sure who else I can call and yell at or to make mountains move. I am a school teacher and my funds are limited.
