Hey everyone! I just come back from my interview and it went very well, a very smooth process overall…. And yes, I passed!

    Here is a short summary:
Once at the office (San Jose), I waited about 10 minutes before an officer called me in. She was very kind during the whole interview, she first asked to see my appointment letter, my passport, my green card and ID (I applied for N-400 based on 5 year LPR eligibility rule), and then we started with the test. She only asked 6 civics questions:
What is freedom of religion? where is the Statue of Liberty? Who signs bills to become laws? When was the Constitution written? What did Martin Luther King, Jr. do? Why does the flag have 50 stars? and then she proceeded to ask me to read "what state has the most people", and to write "California has the most people".

The rest of interview consisted of questions on my identity (full name, marital status, employer, address, date and place of birth, etc…), and then the usual yes or no questions regarding criminal activities, and then questions regarding my willingness to take the oath.

After that they had me wait another 20 minutes to receive my Oath ceremony notice, the ceremony is scheduled for April 28. Voilà!

    Good luck to everyone ♥️

    Thank you!
I didn’t load anything but scans of my green card and marriage certificate with my application.
The IO only asked for my passport, my green card and ID. I did bring more documents with me just in case (marriage certificate, my husband’s birth certificate, tax transcripts) but she didn’t ask to see anything else. There is a list of what you need to bring on the interview notice, and it depends on what rule you applied to N400 (3 year rule vs 5 year rule).

    Good luck with your interview!

Congratulations! Amazing that oath ceremony is scheduled so quickly.
Did you front load application with more documents - like tax transcript etc ?
Also, did the IO ask any additional documents for verification?
I applied through postal mail and only submitted GC copy and nothing more. I have next month and was wondering what kind of documents I need to carry.

Finally got my interview scheduled in May!! What did you use for studying? How much did you actually study? Most of the questions are either common knowledge or I already learned in college

Guess what - your wishes came true!
My interview got scheduled (May 2nd). Exactly one business day after biometrics. Did not expect it to be so fast. My wife and I, both have same day, same time appointment.

    My oath ceremony was today.

The appointment letter said that it was at 12:30pm and to be there no more than 30 minutes before. We got to the courthouse at 11:45am and no one else was at the security checkpoint so we got through in a minute.

We stood outside the courtroom until 12:40pm at which point they told the people that were being naturalized to enter the courtroom while friends and family had to stay outside (they were allowed in later). They had us all sit on the benches and then verified that those who were present were actually scheduled to take the oath today. I had filled out the back of the appointment letter and signed it but then the lady tells us that the city and state in the first line should say Phoenix, AZ even if we live in another part of Phoenix (such as Gilbert, Chandler, etc.) or another city. Good thing I brought a pen with me so that I could correct it. They then had everyone line up to hand over their green card(s). Afterwards we were shown where to sit. On the chair was the packet with the voter registration form, passport form, an American flag, etc.

After that it was a whole lot of waiting to get everyone checked in and seated. Eventually we were told about how to apply for a passport, there was a lady who explained how to sign up to vote and a lady from the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution gave a short speech and they handed out American flags pins to everyone.

The judge didn't show up until 1:40pm and the monitor in the lobby did say that the ceremony wasn't until 1:30pm so 12:30pm was just the check-in time.
Anyway, we did the oath of allegiance, the pledge of allegiance and they played the national anthem.
They had also asked for three volunteers to come up and speak for a couple of minutes about their journey to become citizens. Finally the judge gave a brief speech and then they handed out the certificates. After that we were free to go or we could stay and have our picture taken with the judge. We were done just after 2:00pm.

It says outside the courtroom that phones must be turned off, but they said that you're allowed to take pictures and videos inside the courtroom. You just need to keep your phone on silent.

So, that's it for me! 😀

    Hi,
I passed my interview and tests today, and my status now says I was placed in line for an oath, after briefly saying for a few hours my case was approved and going under quality review. I can't wait to see when my oat will be, the officer said 3-6 weeks for the letter to arrive.
    Good luck to everyone!

Hello December filers!! I don't know why I haven't seen this thread before. I was following November filers because I couldn't find the December one.

Anyway. I received good news yesterday (online, i didn't receive the official letter yet). I got my interview scheduled for 4/18th Orlando, Fl office.

I applied for my N400 on 12/25th (yes on Christmas day). Based on the 3 year rule as a citizen's spouse. I have my I-751 pending since February 2022. And I am not sure if they will do combo interview or not because no updates are showing on my I-751 case but I included a cover letter for my N400 application and I requested a combo interview so we will see what happens.

Congratulations for everyone that already passed and I will be updating everyone when I do my interview. I am rooting for everyone 🙏

If you check the documents tab within your USCIS account it should have a copy of the letter there.

Sorry for keeping everyone on pins and needles but I had to finish up the work day after my interview.

My interview was at 8:45am so I was allowed to enter at 8:30am. Getting through security and checking in only took about five minutes. The IO was about five minutes late but then came out and called my name. He was professional but very nice. We went back to his office where he took my picture and biometrics. He then asked me to raise my right hand and swear to tell the truth. After that he asked for my green card and driver's license and asked if I had been studying. I told him that my husband had been quizzing me so he was sure that I'd do well. He proceeded with the civics questions which were:

    1) What is one right or freedom from the First Amendment?
    2) What is one promise you make when you become a United States citizen?
    3) Who was President during World War I?
    4) What ocean is on the West Coast of the United States?
    5) What is the capital of the United States?
    6) Name two national U.S. holidays

Reading: Where is the White House?
Writing: The White House is in Washington D.C.

After that the IO asked me for my name, date of birth, country of birth, phone number, address, where I work and what my husband's name is. Then he moved on to a bunch of questions from Part 12 in the N400.

The IO then had me sign some things on the tablet and that was it! He told me that he would take me back to the waiting room and that I should wait there to get my oath ceremony notice. I was a little surprised by that. I thought I would just be notified through my online account/mail. I waited maybe 10-15 minutes and then someone came out, called my name and gave me my oath ceremony notice. I'll be attending on March 24.

So, super easy! IO didn't want to see any of the documents I brought at all and the whole thing only took about 30 minutes.
