Krikit got a reaction from Mariner in Timeline for K-1 marriage and divorce rate
Your poll pre-supposes that the 3 month time limitation is a get-to-know-you period. It is not. The time between meeting and committing to an engagement is. When you become engaged you are saying "I am willing to marry you and spend the rest of my life with you." When you come to the US on a K-1 visa you are sealing the deal..... not giving it a trial run.

Krikit got a reaction from 2Ps in Pregnancy & Benefits in the US vs. Canada?
Back in the olden days..... I received 6 weeks maternity leave at 35% of my pay. (I'm pretty sure it was 35%. It was a long time ago, after all. ) It was the most traumatic thing, ever, to return to work. Very shocking to discover the US was so far behind the times.

Thanks!
Yes, there are a few places you can get some of the items. Keep in mind, however, that the majority of the listed items may be available in the US, but they're not made with the same ingredients. There are US versions and Canadian/British versions and they taste completely different.

Krikit got a reaction from JL & ML in Working in the US before having an EAD
Myself and a number of other members continued to work for our previous employers, remotely, while we were adjusting status in the US. There is nothing illegal about that type of employment.

Krikit got a reaction from PRC Rabbit in USCIS... DENIALS ARE GOING TO HAPPEN...
Some people have a simplified view of a sex offender. That is why they cannot post without being offensive. However, this thread is not asking for your judgements on an individual's case which you know nothing about. It is asking if anyone is interested in taking legal action. Please refrain from personal attacks and derogatory comments or administrative action will be taken.
Moving this thread from K-1 Process to IMBRA Special Topics, where the Adam Walsh section resides.

I am assuming you didn't come in on a family-based visa so I am going to move your thread to the AOS From Work, Student, and Visitor Visa.
The "deported" comment is unnecessary and a violation of the TOS. Further such comments will result in a thread ban. Thank you.

Krikit got a reaction from Marc_us82 in Age difference of fiance to fiancee?
I think I missed the part where someone did that.
You are wrong. There are numerous people on VJ who haven't married for love. The fact that you think that shows that you come from a westernized background.
I missed the part where this happened also.

It depends what stage of life you are at, in combination with many many other variables. Each and every person looks at the same thing -- each coming at it from a unique set of circumstances and viewpoints -- and each and every one of them has a different take on the matter. I don't believe people are pretending anything. They're just coming at it from a different angle.
See, here's the thing for me. I can't find where people are judging. Stating their viewpoint, yes. I see you stating yours also. I honestly don't get what people are up in arms about. In fact, I just went back a number of pages to try to find it. Interestingly enough, it was one of your posts which triggered the judgementalism about people being judgemental.
You (the collective you) are never going to be able to stop people from having an opinion. And you are never going to be able to have those opinions be the same. This goes for everything in life. Everything! It seems to me that there is an awful lot of time spent on victim impact statements..... to the point where I am beginning to believe that this is actually the payoff.... that men are using the jealousy angle to draw attention to the fact that they have a younger woman. Kind of like the narcissistic beautiful (in her eyes) woman with no female friends who claims that women don't like her because she's beautiful..... when, in fact, it has nothing to do with external beauty and everything to do with internal beauty.
It seems to me that there is much ado about nothing.
In any event, the original question.... many moons ago..... was:
"Is it a matter of desperation for such young girls to marry old guys? Is it for love or money?"
My response to that is "maybe". Maybe it's desperation. Maybe it's for love. Maybe it's for money. Maybe it's for two of those reasons. Maybe it's for all three. Ultimately, the only person who it matters to is the man bringing her here. And he has already factored that into his decision.

Krikit got a reaction from Kathryn41 in Quick Nexus question about dual citizen infant
It's super easy to add the documents during a walk-in visit. All they do is enter it into the system and make a copy. I was in and out in 5 minutes. You can still use the NEXUS card in the meantime. I had the same concerns so I called and they told me not to worry about it.... just to drop in the next time I'm in the area.

Krikit reacted to VeeNDee in Quick Nexus question about dual citizen infant
Got our conditional approval yesterday. All 3 of us got it the same day - probably coz I submitted them within minutes of each other back in June. Because I wanted us to all have the same day for interviews, I phoned up the Nexus office where we were headed for and the guy on the phone was very helpful. He gave us interviews in early September (so not a long wait) and on the day I wanted (a Saturday so my husband doesn't have to take off work) and all 3 of us are in within 45 minutes. We each have a 15 minute slot but he said they'd probably just take all 3 of us at once. Clearly our 10 month old isn't going to answer any questions on her own anyway.
So now we wait for the interview. Hopefully I don't forget any paperwork and we can find the office easily enough. Supposedly you get the cards in the mail 5-10 days after the interview if you're approved and can't use the Nexus lane until then. But then we'll have 5 years of speedy crossings!!!

Krikit got a reaction from Jacque67 in My wife hates everything here.
One abusive post has been removed. Please be civil or you will be removed from the thread.
Dieseltu, the first year I was here was just awful. I'm sure I was just as miserable as your wife but my husband understood that my frustration was due to missing everything and everyone I knew, so he helped me to familiarize myself with my surroundings and even went out of his way to find places where I could pick up items which weren't readily available to me here, but were everywhere in my home country.
I don't think I fully adjusted until the end of my second year, but the first year was the worst. Give her time. Give her hugs. Give her flowers. She doesn't want you to fix it for her; she's just grieving.

Krikit reacted to espared12 in AP Serves No Purpose Very Upset
With all due respect, this does not give them an excuse to belittle people or yell at them for no reason. We were not swimming accross the river, we were entering the US as the USCIS instructed us to do so. They should study up and know their job.

You dont get another I 94, you just get stamped in until your current immigration runs out which is the expiry of the combo card.
