  1. The info about what vaccinations were needed and how the form is filled out, plus this part of that thread didn't answer your concerns? >

    What if I don't have a DS-3025?

If you are positive that you got the needed shots, then actually mailing in a DS-3025 photocopy is not necessary. The original form is with your other medical results and was turned over to USCIS at POE. That's actually the one that counts because it remained in the "chain of custody" so you didn't have an opportunity to alter it. The photocopy isn't really an official copy and is more for a reminder that you got complete at your visa exam. Of course without having a copy, you don't have the opportunity to see if the rest of the form was completed correctly.

Not really, it basically says I gotta look at my DS-3205 to determine whether I need an I-693 but since I don't have a DS-3205 and the only time I saw parts of it was when filling out the tick boxes for whatever medical conditions I have I can't really know what 'filled out properly' means... since I never saw the entirety of it. I'd rather make sure that I understand the information correctly than just wing it and get an RFE back and further delay the whole process, y'know?

  2. IF you haven't already, the the time to review the excellent pinned thread located at the top of the forum page: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/551080-immunizations-ds-3025-or-i-693/

    HTH.

I already checked it but it didn't really answer my question. But I guess I'm good to go without the I-693 then if my doctor didn't mention needing any vaccinations once I've arrived in the States.

  3. Hey! So I'm in the process of assembling all the paperwork needed for my AoS package and I'm not entirely sure what to do when it comes to seeing a civil surgeon. So I had my medical done in Sweden this June and the doctor there ticked the vaccination waiver box so I didn't need to get any additional vaccines. Upon my PoE I only had one huge 'do not open' envelope to hand over to the immigration officer and they kept everything that was in it so I don't have my DS-3025 form. From what I understand, if the vaccination waiver box is ticked then I'm good to go without any additional vaccines? Does this mean I don't have to see a civil surgeon and can skip the I-693 entirely? Thanks in advance!

  4. Jusat saw this thread! haha and it seems active too.

I am waiting for my NOA2 to reach NVC and i am freaking out about that interview!

Haha i have nothing to hide but to prove your love to your fiancee in front of a stranger is a scary thought :)

I can´t wait until this process is over. We are currently planning the wedding which will take place in Lake Tahoe.

    Anyone here from north Cal?

Me and my husband are in Sacramento! :)

  5. Hey all ?

I'm traveling to Stockholm tomorrow morning to attend the interview on Thursday. Any last minute advise ?

I think I got everything I need, but please tell me if you have a good advise. I'm super nervous, which I probably don't have any reason to be..

I was super nervous too... but there was really no reason to be! :) Everyone at the embassy was really friendly, even if the very first security guard that talked to me was more on the serious side. Just double (and triple) check you have all the papers you need, and the passport photos... and you should be good to go! Good luck!

  6. Whenever I send my fiance money I would just use PayPal. I just have no idea whether it's worth using it for sums above, say, $2000. Apparently the USD is strong right now, so perhaps I should just leave my money in my swedish account too and just keep using my card/ATMs until I get a job and open a bank account and start earning money over there. It's ridiculous how backwards the USA is with so many things, you can go to a grocery store and pay by waving your phone but god forbid you want to do an international transfer, lol.

  7. Not directly visa related but... what did you guys do with your money when moving? Did you exchange it at your bank, forex or transfer it to your SO's bank account directly? I have no idea how to go about it, in the past I wouldn't exchange anything and just withdraw cash from ATMs when I'm there or use my debit card..

  8. I need your help :)

I got the checklist, it says: birth certificate has to state the date and place of birth for both of my parents...

On the Danish birth certificates it does not state any of that, just their names...

    What should I do?

My Latvian birth certificate states their names and nationalities and that's it, and they never mentioned anything about it... so I guess you'll be fine but hopefully someone from Denmark can post and clear it up for you :)

  9. Awesome and happy birthday!!!! :)

I'm so happy everything went smoothly for you Maria! Did you have to hand over your chest xray CD as well? And did you fill out the blue form that we get on the planes? Not sure if they are ESTA specific

Told you so!!! HAppy birthday and may the rest of the month go by quick so you guys can be reunited soon :) x

Thank you both!!! :) I'm sure it's gonna fly by, I'm gonna be working until the very end so that will help too. I haven't seen Chris since the end of July last year so it's long overdue!

  10. I've been refreshing the CEAC page all day and I had to leave for work at half past 3 and it still said AP so I was a little bummed out, but hey, whatever. I juuuust got to work and decided to refresh the page one last time.... and whaddya know... ISSUED :D!!!!!!!!! Which is pretty awesome because... last night I just said it and booked my flight for August 10th. :D Oh god, I'm so happy and relieved now. Best birthday present ever!!!

  11. It only took them one business day after changing from NIV to issues. Tomorrow will be your day!!

So I was looking around for flight tickets and had 10k miles with american airlines still, just for the fun of it I decided to see if I could purchase a one way ticket to his hometown instead of D.c (About 3 hours south) by paying with miles only. Turns out they only want 30k miles for a one way ticket, and buying the extra 20k miles will only cost me $480! So I scored (put it on 24hr hold) a flight ticket on Thursday with POE of JFK straight to his hometown for under $500! So exciting :)

Fingers crossed, I am so ready to book my damn flight :D

And wow, that's a really good price for flights, especially this close to departure! Make sure there's enough time between the POE and your next flight in case it takes a while for the immigration people to process you.

  12. Yea it makes no sense that the price is higher for a one way ticket than a return!

Don't you think you'll have your passport back before August 10th?

It would be weird if not..

I'm sure I will, I mean I'm making plans around leaving on 10th and stuff, my last day at my job is on the 7th. I could book them right away but for some reason I'm still hesitant. I just want to have the damn visa say at least issued! But it seems to be stuck on Administrative Processing.

  13. I wish I could just sleep through the whole thing. But I'm always so scared :(

Just remember that airplanes are pretty much the safest means of transportation! And maybe have a drink or two, hehe.

I actually just checked my flights again and seems like the one I picked isn't available anymore but then I checked round trips and I can book a Gbg->London->San Francisco flight for about 8000kr return flight included... just have to cancel the return part once I'm in the States. I swear, the ticket pricing makes zero sense. One way trips being more expensive than round trips.

  14. Wow, why is it going to be that expensive?

I think you will be safe with booking a flight for the 10th. It's almost a full month away.

Pretty much because I'm booking so close to the date of the actual flight and also because I'm flying to the west coast. I keep checking google flights and seems like the cheapest flights heading to San Francisco/Oakland/Sacramento are never under 4000kr and I'm also trying to book with as few stops as possible so the one I've chosen is perfect for me (Gothenburg to Stockholm, then a direct flight from Stockholm to Oakland).

  15. I'm thinking about booking my flight.

I know it very risky, but the prices are very low. (About 3.000 kr)

Interview 6th of August and I'm thinking about booking a flight for two weeks after that date..

    Is it way too risky?

It's REALLY tempting but I'd wait. I mean I had my interview on the 2nd and I'm still hesitating booking my flight for the 10th of August. As people on here always say, don't book anything until you have your visa in hand! My flight will be around 10000kr and it SUCKS but better safe than sorry.
