  1. I'm fairly certain, from reading other's experiences with the Sydney Consulate, that they require the I-134 just like most of them. I think the I-864 might be required later down the track. We're just starting our journey so perhaps someone that's been through it may shed some more light. Good luck with the rest of your journey :)

  2. Hiya, you can just call me Ally, much easier :) Yeah we are currently thinking about DCF now a bit more seriously but we don't have a lot of extra money to spend. If things arent too bad we may be able to do that instead. After all, the sooner the better!

James is on an ETA which as you probably know is valid for 12 months with 3 month maximum stays, renewing upon reentry into the country so technically, June but it's possible he will be here a bit longer. We don't know much about the whole DCF process though. We're waiting for the approval on the I-129F, so I'm not sure what would happen with that.

  3. Thanks guys :) I'm in NSW, Sydney way. Lol, young, I dunno. I've just turned 30 and James is 24. I'm lucky to still have him over in Sydney for a few months more through this whole waiting thing. I read about a lot of people being so far apart and I feel really lucky to still have that at the moment.

We were pondering at first whether to go the whole lawyer route but after I discovered this site it helped a whole lot to know exactly what we needed to do and yeah, the lawyer idea went out the window. Waiting for the NOA1 was hard enough, I'm trying not to get addicted to checking the case status lol, it's easy to do  . Instead we're saving money, planning a wedding of sorts and waiting it out as everyone has to. Yep, definitely worth it

  4. Congratulations on the NOA2! I'm kinda new around here so I'm popping in to say hi to all my fellow Aussies. Am only at the beginning of what may be a long journey so I have a lot of waiting to do and a lot more reading to take part in :D This place is great, Hi all.

  5. lol  Reminds of my cat, he used to leave his gifts of dead birds and mice on my doorstep in the morning. Be all standing there so proud and there would be feathers all over his face and all over the front porch. I guess he thought he looked cute.

  6. I went on a 7 night cruise a few years back to the South Pacific and I can honestly still say it's one of the best experiences I've ever had. The atmosphere is amazing. I was fascinated by the fact that you had so many options. That you could be on a ship and yet you could spend the day lazing around by the pool sipping cocktails, shopping and catching a drink at the bar, watch a show, watch a movie, dance, grab a pizza at 3am if you so wanted it  . I loved every second of it. The meals on board were really nice also and you got the option of casual buffet style or a full sit down 3 to 5 course at every meal.

The staff and people were great. The only negative thing I'd have to say about it is my first couple of days getting used to the motion of being on the water, felt a little green for a bit but everyone is different. I still remember how romantic it was to be standing on deck at sunset with all that fresh air, watching the water change colours over the pacific. For me it was great, I guess everyone has their own different experience with cruising but I definitely recommend it :)

  7. We only sent the petitioner's birth certifcate also. Was only aware you needed to have the beneficiary Birth Certificate further down the track but for now, the petioner was all that was required.

We also only sent a copy of my divorce decree and not the marriage certificate. I think they just require proof of the termination of the marriage and not so much any name changes as such.
