    Hello VJ family
We were denied in July 2016, we had a noir in april 2018 after a very long wait and received a reaffirmation on July 2018. We contacted the embassy a couple of times to know the next line of action and were told to expect an email, which wasn't received after sometime. We called the embassy today and we were told our case has expired. Is this expiration possible without any notice? Could it be a mistake and if so, is there anything we can do about it?
  2. Thanks

I will advice you to go there in person at the DHL  address prescribed , if only the maximum time gave to expect your passport had past by !

That is true what you are saying , because of some false relationship , it been effecting most real couples on their married cases at the embassy thinking they are also false , no matter what evidence they submit sometimes , they have to put them under 221g for them to fight for their married survivor.

So is always a blessing if you find yourself in one term interview survivor to be approved by the CO .
May God Almighty help us all to survive this journey in good faith to be able save our marriage.

Although yours went smoothly and u were approved,   many hundreds do not and the heartbreak is real
and no one real is out to scare without cause
VJ members are trying to help with what we have seen in the past from Nigeria / the NOIR's , the NOID's
the members who ask WHY and HOW this could happen to them, need help (if we can give it)
comments here are not meant to scare/ they are sincere and honest and sometimes can sound brutal (as mine do)
but i went thru 6 years of an immigration nightmare to be with my husband and the VJ members helped

Chech the ceac status again. If it still says expiring soon or expired, it implies the Embassy has not yet received your reaffirmed petition and might still be at NVC

When were u reaffirmed? Dont.worry about what they said. Once your case is reaffirmed, they will reopen ur application. Check ur status again to verify whether it says expired or AP. Usually once the embassy receives your reaffirmed petition and make data entry the case status is updated to AP

By the grace of God, the case has been reaffirmed.
We didn't even involved a lawyer, my husband responded to the noir by himself. God has been faithful, we're are waiting to be scheduled for an interview.
We can only say God made a way.

The NVC won’t schedule your interview. They have changed the process for reaffirmed cases at the Ghana Embassy. Once the NVC is done with what they need to do, they will send it along to the embassy. When the embassy as inputted the case into their system, you will get a letter with information on how you schedule the interview. I believe it will talke 1-3 months until you get the letter to schedule your interview.

well yes CO can be harsh and judgemental. 1st time when we went for our interview, CO shut me down and we were given NOIR. We fought back and we got the second interview after 14 months (approx) (don't remember exact time frame) but in our second interview, we were approved.

I don't blame CO. They are just doing their job and if they see anything suspicious or feel that way they reject it. I say this is a true test.  read my profile and story and you will understand why I am staying true test.  Because a fake couple won't put so much mind-numbing effort and spent tons of money and wait and wait and wait for an unknown timeframe to be together with loved ones.

reply your NOIR with proof and a detailed letter explaining it. We hired lawyer the moment we were rejected. Even thou we collected all the proof, the lawyer wrote a formal letter on our behalf (worth paying every penny for lawyer for that single letter)

How do I go about doing a Freedom of Information Act request on my file and how long does it usually take? Can I do it on my own or would I need a lawyer to do it?
