to be honest, I think you should see each other once more before filing the petition. It will strengthen your case considerably. Ghana is a very difficult embassy.

Well good for you. Not everyone can be so lucky. African consulates are among the toughest for visa issuance, so whatever was ignored in your case may be heavily scrutinized in hers. Cultural norms are very important in African consulates, and if you have read reviews of those that have endured them you would realize that the embassies there factor in familial acceptance and cultural practices often times to the detriment of the beneficary.

Speaking English is not a requirement to visit the United States. Somehow thousands enter legally every day and do not have a problem.

I second this. I hope to see everyone on the approval thread soon and later the AOS thread, Removal of Conditions and eventually Citizenship. It's comforting knowing other people are going through the same BS

I made this profile back in September 2014 (received my NOA1 on September 10th.) Ever since then I've just been lurking around here, until now. I felt compelled to really share my sense of gratitude to those who come by and offer a kind word. It's a beautiful gesture!
As for me, like the others, I'm on the brink of losing my mind. I'm a K-2 (child of a foreign fiance) , and we've been waiting for well over 210 days. (Thanks TSC.) But do you know what's the most frustrating part? I may sound ignorant, but I cannot understand why some people who have received their NOA2 almost FIFTEEN days after us have gotten accepted days ago?! How is that even conceivable!?! (People of the SAME nationality as mine, brazilian, mind you) It's completely unfair, this wait wears you out very thin.
Alas.. I hope to have a response tomorrow. I hope everyone here has a response tomorrow so we can finally move on to the next step- the interview. Oh the joy! ...
edit: About the stark difference in time.. The only theory I came up with is that maybe it's taking longer for us because there's a child involved. Other than that, I can't think of any other reason why this is taking longer for us than others who have applied weeellllll after us.

Terri. I'm going to be real with you.
Granted you may not like a single thing I'm going to say here, but here goes.
I don't really care if your story is legit or fake, okay? I'm not one to question whom one falls in love with and the differences they may encounter.
You have consistently posted misleading and evasively contradictory statements. As this is a site where people generally care about each other and want to help: there are things that YOU need to clear up or this will not continue in a positive manner. Help people help you. Or don't. If you don't then no one will be able to help you or continue taking you seriously.
I can guarantee to you, that the United States government does not care one iota about your hardships or difficulty, how good you think your photos are (real or photoshopped), or the circumstances regarding why you can't be in the same room or have to stand below a balcony with a person you say you want to be your husband. They don't care about roses or towels or love stories. They do not care how much you think you love him and how much you think you can make this work. They don't even care about the money you sent with your application either.
What they care about is fraud, people becoming a burden to their system, and the protection of their citizens.
Under the theme of fraud - many things you have stated raise red flags. Severe red flags, that I don't believe a person viewing your petition would be able to overcome positively without more information. Reality can be painful and harsh, but that's the way things are. The people who have sent petitions in here, and have been waiting for months and years to be with their loved ones, they have endured extreme hardships, painful separations, differences in cultures, and scrutiny. Don't think for a second that people don't understand the reality of hardship, because they do. This is something we take seriously. No one here wants to be hostile with you, but you're making it impossible for a person not to react that way.
I've had my say now, and I think what I've said is fairly reasonable and polite, if you are willing to calm down and actually start answering questions that do in fact pertain to if your case will be successful or not. Because trust me, it isn't about who's uncle ran off with whom right now, or even religious differences that you even need to be concerned about at the top of the list -- it's a whole host of other things. As it stands now, there is a high likelihood your case will not be successful. Sorry, but that's how life is.

I am not even saying anything bad about Muslims, just that his expectations for you will be uncomfotable for you as a non-Muslim to handle. Furthermore, he seems to not be a secular-minded Muslim, which would make a big difference. Please don't bring him over thinking that he will change/convert. Accept his religion and the role it will play in your life before making the marriage leap. Otherwise you will be extremely unhappy. Also realize that people tend to become more conservative in their beliefs as they age, so take that for what it's worth. Good luck on your journey.

    Tough love post to follow.
A man just starting his life in a west African culture has the thoughts of his heirs and many children. This is nation where people have little chance to raise out of where they are if they aren't a part of the corruption that is found at every piece of the country. Young men spend their every cent trolling the internet of a way out on every dating site and social network you can think of. They will even have several phones to help them keep their marks straight. They find an easy mark in past their prime US women who are ignored on the home dating market by men in midlife crisis trying to live out their dreams with their daughter classmates on a Viagra fueled second childhood. I know of women that have been talked out of tens of thousands of dollars chasing they young love. These men are full of sweet words and could write several books on how to sweep a woman off their feet. Even if the chase for a visa is successful the long term chances of such a relationship lasting more than a few years is dismal. If you are into helping someone escape a terrible place and likely moving on in a few years then go for it. However you will need to spend at least 30 days in country for even odds at getting a visa and get a lot more involved in his family and culture.

your theory would make sense if Russian petitions were delayed at the CSC too, but they aren't (from what I gather). The TSC is downright cruel and unsual punishment regardless of nationality.

Good evening my fellow September filers. I wanted to post this message to you guys not in any way to brag about my status and I apologize ahead of times to any who may think so but you guys have held me up and given the strength to really deal with this horrible process at TSC. About three weeks ago I really hit a low point in my relationship where I honestly didn't think could do this long distance thing anymore. Let me tell you I've spent a fortune traveling back and forth four trips to Haiti and I won't even mention the long distance phone calls and so on and so on. So after literally hitting rock bottom the morning of April 03 I woke up to find out that I had been approved. I will say it was like a light a the end of a very long and dark tunnel. Ever since my case has been moving at lighting speed I just check my case on the NVC site and has been shipped to my Embassy that's less than two weeks after approval. So if all goes well I should be interviewing in the next three weeks or so. Anyways just wanted to share my story to say stay strong and once you do get approved the next part of it really goes by so fast. Hope every one gets their approvals really soon.
