  1. Alright people...I'm seriously ready to go home and not come back.

Got back from vacqtion and called the USCIS this morning only to get an incompetent person on the phone that annoyed the ####### out of me as soon as he answered the phone (at this point I believe they are trained to be incomprehensible and have a low voice, so if you misunderstand something and call back the next time, it'll be on you!)

Anyway, after listening to his bs he did eventually transfer my call to a tier 2.

This officer was very nice (probably 100 years old, but nice). He told me that the hold up on my card production was due to the amount of applications (yeah right) and I should not look or compare my case to others that have already received their cards....true, but pffff..who doesn't!!? Also he told me to call back in a week or two if I haven't received the card by then (that's what I've been told last time as well).

When it comes to my I-485...this case has been transfered to my NBC center on Aug. 18th. He did mention an interview, but whether he saw that on the screen or just assumed I'd be scheduled for one, I don't know.

Well, at least I got a little more information this time. Though it doesn't really help or put me at ease. Especially when I see new people chatting in the forum because everybody I know is already gone and don't have to be bothered with this sh*** for the next two years. meeehhhhh

Ha! I'll be back too whining and bit*** about the same ridiculous stuff again. :ranting:

We're now in the same boat, although for us it's only been 9 days so not nearly as long as you. But we contacted our senator and she said the officer said "that recently it has been around 7-10 business days to receive the physical card but due to high volume they are experiencing now it could take up to 30 days."

Unbelievable!! Does anyone know if we can leave the country with our NOA for our i-131 and not the card? I'm not sure we can wait 30 days for the actual card to come.

  2. Hi all,

I am new to the forum but in a similar situation as some of you.

Got married on May 20 (went on honeymoon same day), then sent AOS application express on May 31, received by USCIS on June 8.

...and I am still waiting for my EAD. I am not even too worried about the Greencard at this point but I have a pending job offer and am afraid that I might lose it if I can't give them any clearer indication as to when I will be able to start.

My employment authorization got approved on September 8 and I received the NOA a few days later but since then the case status has not updated.

The NOA stated that my EA application has been approved and that the EAD "was sent under different cover to the beneficiary." So I assumed they already sent it out.

But to this day no EAD card and no change in status online. I tried calling USCIS twice to get more info and two different customer service reps told me that they can see no indication that my EAD was even produced and cannot tell me how long it will take until it is produced and sent. They also refused to connect me to anyone else and said I cannot file a SR until a period of 60 days has passed -- apparently that is because I received an RFE (because USCIS messed up the order of my name and then asked for a sworn affidavit proving that my name really is my name (even though that name is listed on all my official documents)). I overnighted that sworn affidavit back the same day I received the RFE -- so it didn't hold up the case for longer than a week.

The case was approved shortly after. So, I assumed that everything was back to schedule. But now I'm wondering why it is taking them so long to produce my EAD. From, what I've read, it seems like most people have received it fairly soon after being approved.

Does anyone have experience with this kind of delay and can give me some advice on next steps? I am just really hoping that it will not take the full 60 days - that would be disastrous.

Thanks so much for your help and good luck to everyone else still waiting for EAD or Greencard!

I would recommend scheduling an InfoPass appointment. Bring a copy of your job offer (contract/offer letter/some kind of proof) and your NOA for your EAD approval. The InfoPass officer will be able to tell you way more than the reps on the phone. We did this when our RFE didn't come in the mail and he was able to fix it.

If this doesn't work, contact your Congressman or Senator. My husband had a job offer and his EAD wasn't approved yet. We sent them a copy of his contract and she was able to get it approved within a week. She had a contact within USCIS that she went through directly. They might be able to find out why your EAD hasn't been produced and speed things up again.

    Good luck!!

  3. Yes, you're right. I called them today and the 30 days were confirmed. I should receive the card 'any day' now (pffff....yeah right!). In order for me to do a SR I have to wait since I'm still on the regular processing time.

I seriously feel like I am the only one here this happened to. I am so annoyed!!!

This happened to us with our RFE. They told us we had to wait 30 days, but we knew something was wrong when it didn't arrive after 15 days. Calling USCIS and a SR didn't help at all. I would reach out to your congressman and schedule an InfoPass meeting. We did both and got copies of RFE within 2 days (before the 30 day mark). I'm SO glad we did this, because we eventually found out that our case worker never mailed our RFE. Had we not reached out, we'd probably still be waiting.

I know it's probably different for the combo card than RFEs, but if your situation is anything like ours, then don't wait the full 30 days! Although I'm a little paranoid at this point... :)

  4. We FINALLY got our RFE in the mail yesterday. We spoke to an officer yesterday and apparently our original RFE was never mailed!! She also said that our case worker never electronically updated the system with our RFE, which was why no one could email/fax it to us. She admitted that this was negligence on their part. Thankfully, during our InfoPass appointment last week, the officer directly emailed our case worker and got them to re-mail our RFE that same day.

Thank goodness we got involved before the date they gave us online or we'd still be waiting!

  5. Congrats everyone on their approvals!

Good and bad news for us. We still haven't received our RFE in the mail (It was mailed Aug 10th). We called USCIS last week and they said they would mail us another one. We called again this week and spoke to a very nice officer who told us it could take weeks for them to re-mail a copy!

We decided just to schedule an Infopass appointment because we're inpatient and I've read stories about some RFEs never arriving in the mail. So during our appointment, all they could do was email the officer who has our case and ask them to expedite our service request and re-mail the RFE asap. He said this usually works.

The good news! He took a look at our file and said there was a note saying they won't be requesting an interview for the green card! At least we get to skip that step.

  6. Hi everyone! Unfortunately, we received an email that we got an RFIE on Aug 10th. It is now Aug 24th and we still haven't received our hard copy in the mail. Does anyone know how long it usually takes to arrive? I've looked at a lot of timelines and it seems like most people would've gotten theirs by now.

I'm pretty sure I know what the RFIE is about, I'm just annoyed I can't mail anything in until I know for sure. I know I'm probably being impatient, but any advice would be appreciated!

Just to update everyone, we gave USCIS a call and since it's been 15 days, they're going to resend it! She said we should've received it by now. So glad we didn't have to wait until Sept 9th like the email said before contacting them!

    Congrats everyone on your approvals!

  8. Thanks for the update

We received the letter yesterday and we're going to try to get it done on Monday. The strange thing is that the website says they're open 24 hrs a day, except on Sundays; I know that can't be right. Did you happen to see what time they close? We want to go in the afternoon, if possible.

We noticed that too on their website, but the door on the front of the building said they closed at 4pm I believe. Good luck!

  9. Thanks Jordan&Dan

Looks like our timeline is very similar. I'm hoping to see the bio letter by the end of the week and hopefully do a walk-in next week. I couldn't find any information on the Morrisville, NC office online. Maybe that's a good sign, and they aren't too busy.

We just did our biometrics! We did a walk-in at 11am. It was actually pretty busy when we went, but they didn't seem to care. The whole thing took about 15 minutes even though there were at least 20 other families there.

I'm sure you won't make the same mistake as we did, but we actually went to the wrong place at first! I just assumed that it was at the USCIS center, but when we got there, the security guard directed us to a different building, which was about 8 minutes up the road. The address is on your bio letter, but I just typed in "USCIS center" into Google Maps so we ended up at the wrong one! He said it happens all the time. Good thing it wasn't our actual appointment day or we might've been late!

Overall, super easy process. Hope yours goes just as well!

  10. We received our biometrics letter on 7/8! Seems so quick since we got the NOA hardcopies earlier that week (Especially considering our K1 process took a year). So thankful this is moving faster!

The appointment is scheduled for 7/22 but we're going to try to walk-in this week since the USCIS center is only 20 minutes from where we live.

I know there are a few Raleigh-Durham, NC filers on this thread so I'll let you know how the walk-in goes!

  11. I'm also a late June filer; from Cary, NC, just around the corner form you.

AOS/EAD/AP package was received June 22nd; no email, text or mail as of yet. I hope to see something by next Monday.

Let us know about your progress, looks like we'ell both be dealing with the USCIS office in Morrisville, NC

    Good Luck

I'm filing from Cary as well! :)

Our package was received June 20th, our check was cashed June 29th, and we received our texts (5 of them) later that night.

Good Luck to you and everyone else!

  12. I live in the UK and work for a Global company. There's a possibility that my company will allow me to work remotely from the US after my K1 visa is approved.

Am I legally allowed to continue working for this company, remotely from the US, before my AOS comes through or should I plan to quit my job prior to the flight out? Do I have to be unemployed until my AOS goes through?

Thanks in advance for the advice. I don't want to get in to trouble for working without the correct legalities in place.
